issues, I did not receive notification of this complaint until August 25, 2016.Regarding Revdex.com Complaint #***, it is our practice at ARC to direct patients with questions regarding coverage to their insurance company directly or their employer's benefit office to find out what their plan benefits are Our front desk staff, providers and nursing staff are trained to refer patients with billing questions to our billing department or to call their insurance to verify benefits To address this specific issue, the patient responsible amount for this visit was determined by Mr*** insurance plan, not Austin Regional Clinic It is the responsibility of each individual to know the benefits and requirements of their individual insurance planThis information is typically very easily obtained via the insurance providers’ website.Thank you for the opportunity to respond If you have any further questions, please contact me at *** ***

Ms. [redacted] was seen on 5/31/2017 for an annual exam, STD testing and refill of contraception, with discussion of possible transition to another pill.   The STD testing includes Chlamydia, GC, HIV, RPR and vaginal pathogens.  The code  87800 is the vaginal pathogens...

testing  which is always included to include testing for trichomoniasis.    When the bill was presented to Ms. [redacted]’s insurance for payment, we were told that the diagnosis associated with the testing was not covered and the insurance company asked for a different diagnosis code.  The diagnosis code was then changed via adjustment journal on 8/3.   The claim was reprocessed with the new DX code of Z01.419, and CIGNA still applied the balance to patient responsibility.   Ms. [redacted] had paid $75.36 to MedData on 09/25. The balance of $35.64 that was on the account has also been removed from Ms. [redacted]’s  account. .  Ms. [redacted]’s account balance is zero.      Austin Regional Clinic does it’s very best to ensure proper billing for all services.  We apologize for any discomfort this issue has caused.   Tell us why here...
