I am Writing in regards to a complaint received via the Revdex.com, ID # *** involving an unsatisfied client,I met Mrs*** in May of to evaluate and estimate a job she had wanted done which involved reducing the height of a mature hardwood tree in her yardadvised Mrs***
against topping the tree to allow sunlight because it would impact the health of the tree and is against the standard of pruning set by the ISA and instead thin out the canopyMrs*** decided she still wanted to go ahead with the height reduction for a price of The day before we were scheduled to come to perform the job as directed she contacted me via phone call and stated that she had second thoughts and changed her mind and to move forward with the thinning of the crownbid the job for time and material and had asked her if she wanted us to stay within the price she was quoted, 800.00, to which she said yes to avoid paying hundreds more because the thinning procedure is much more meticulous than topping the treeWe arrived and worked on the tree for approximately hours, well under our hourly rate of 225.00/hr which is irrelevantIf she had agreed to pay accordingly would have been more than happy to continue to work on the tree, but can only do what was agreed upon as a businessmanWe were directed by Mrs*** to use a level area on the top of her yard to park the bucket truck So we could reach the tree as needed which is what we did, Our chipper was placed off of her driveway in the yard which was dry and level to avoid any marks or stains on the driveway from dragging brushThere was no lawn damage afterwardThe mess she is referring to may have stray wood chips and saw dust small enough that the rake would not pick them up, I do not know because when returned to collect payment the next day there was no visible messWe, nor any other tree service has ever done a job where the yard is immaculate afterward unless you were to go through and spend hours picking up every little piece of debris by handWe raked the entire work area as well as used a leaf blower to clear up as much material as possibleShe had requested some additional work on the opposite side of the property which again gave her a very low price of as opposed to a rate of because I had felt bad that she was not satisfied with the original work although she was not willing to pay more to continue thinning the tree, We were prepared to do the additional work when Mrs*** demanded we put plywood down on the lawn, which we did not have and explained to her that for the low price I am doing the work for the plywood alone would have cost 40-60 dollars so then would actually be losing moneytold her we would come back once the ground froze if we were in the area, because again, to haul my equipment there which is roughly miles from my shop it would not be worth dollars with time and fuel and would lose moneyBefore we left Mrs***'s property, we removed a small tree for her neighbor who was going to let us use their driveway to access the additional work for Mrs***had spoke with her neighbor in person and on the phone, who were very satisfied with our work by the way, and they had advised me to stay far away from Mrs*** because she is a very difficult individual to do business with as she is not easily satisfied and very meticulousThe original job of thinning of the tree was very abstract therefore it is her unprofessional opinion that the job was not properly done which she is entitled to, with that being said will not be able to refund her moneyThe best Way to have gone about it to ensure percent satisfaction would have been for her to tell is to reschedule so she could go over everything appropriately and have a set in stone price before starting after changing her mind the day before instead of having is do what We Were capable of in the allotted time frameWe are a professional, reputable Company who have been in business since 2001, being Lackawanna County's largest residential/commercial tree serviceT? my knowledge we have never received a Complaint with Revdex.com and leave the vast majority of our clientele extremely satisfied.Sincerely, Alec X S*** Titan Tree Service, Inc

I am rejecting this response because:The response from MrS*** (as I expected) is filled with untruths. Just the statement about my neighbor "advising them to stay far away from me" is incredible...and just including that in his response defines what kind of businessman he actually is. Why would he come back to inspect the job if no additional work was necessary? and at which time I gave him additional work which he accepted?? By his statements, he is more concerned about his bottom line than customer satisfaction; my mistake was believing him when he said "I know you didn't get the result you were expecting" so we will make it right and at the same time perform the $job agreed upon. My second mistake was paying him in full!! Left out from my initial complaint (due to space limitations) was a comment I made to him when the second job was postponed (due to crew not knowing the scope of work, no supervisor on site, no plywood to protect my yard from damage that they are not responsible for), I said "you're going to stick me with this aren't you?" for which he replied definitely not---assuring me they would return. It wasn't until after I contacted him multiple times into the fall (once I believe his dad covered for him saying "he was just here, but now he's not" which led me to believe he was standing right but giving me the run around) that he leaves me a voice mail message on my home phone (see initial complaint). Regarding the plywood issue, when I gave him the job, there was never a question that they wouldn't protect the yard. If he told he upfront that he couldn't afford plywood and that my yard would incur ruts from their trucks for which they are not liable, I never would have given him the job in the first place. So why would I expect anything less from their return visit? Regarding the wood chips (large chunks I spent days picking up out of the grass), I don't know what he's complaining about, I'm the one that picked them all up!! I simply mentioned that on their return visit that they put the wood chipper in the driveway (common sense) which was about two feet from where they put in in the grass, for easy clean up!!I stand by my initial request that my $be refunded in full as Titan Tree Service never completed the work which they were contracted for and paid in full
