Prairie Auto Credit Reviews (1)

I have been a customer for approx. 3 years. I was having problems getting approved for a good used vehicle from car dealers so I responded to a flyer ad about Prairie Auto. I was a first time car buyer, very much uninformed. I upgraded to a 2012 [redacted] in April 2013. All I had to do was phone [redacted] and he worked with me very quickly and in no time at all Prairie Auto delivered the car to me in Prince Albert. [redacted] did all the work from his end and I trusted he knew what he was doing and at no time during our phone conversations did we discuss the terms of the contract. All I remember [redacted] saying is that the [redacted] is the financer and that was good because I was financed through [redacted] the previous 2 years. He also told me it was a five year term. When the car was delivered to me I was made to sign papers and then I was taken down to [redacted] to register the new car then they were gone. Now, ever since January I have been asking [redacted] to help get me back into a cheaper vehicle (cheaper payments). He emailed me telling me that after 1 year I would qualify for a Better Payment program so he asked me to wait for my year to come up, which I did. I have been trying to get him to work with me ever since April this year and I have left emails and phone messages for him and he wouldn't respond! The only time he talked to me about this was when I happened to phone and he answered it and he asked me to fax him my pay stubs which I did ([redacted]). I never heard from him again! I recently went to a [redacted] dealer here in PA still trying to get a different vehicle and the salesman at the [redacted] here told me why [redacted] has been ignoring me. I found out I am on a 7 year contract, not a 5 year. I also found out my car is not worth what I was charged, [redacted] I have been paying over 1 year on this car and barely any of the money went towards the principal and because of the negative equity this [redacted] couldn't help me get a different car.Product_Or_Service: 2012 [redacted]Desired Settlement[redacted] I will have paid 50,000.00 for that car. I have had problems with this car too and I don't want it! ([redacted]). What I would like to see is either help from Prairie Auto to get me a cheaper car with warranty (better payments) and for a 5 year term. I never agreed to a 7 year. Nor was told about it or explained anything. Or, a refund. Or, Prairie Auto paying off my car loan and setting me up at [redacted] here. Business Response [redacted] originally bought a vehicle from us in Jan/2012. it was financed through a bank called [redacted] at a high rate of interest. the approvals are based on overall credit and we have nothing to do with the deal. the bank determines the terms and interest rates. she then traded off the car to the 2012 [redacted] in May/2013. I would have discussed terms and interests exactly how I did the first time she bought a car from us. again the bank determines the rates and terms and maximum payment that a person qualifies for. she liked the idea of the 2012 car. it only had approx. 43,000 kms on it with fully factory warranty remaining. the car went through a full [redacted] govt inspection before the vehicle left. I believe the car today will still be covered under warranty as well...so if there is any issues, it can be taken directly to a [redacted] dealer. and again, the bank determines the terms and interest rates and max allowable payments...so in this case in order to qualify for a 2012 model, the payment needed to be stretched over the extended term...which was discussed before the car even left to be delivered. the customer would not have qualified for a five year term as the payment would have been to high. so again, in order to qualify for the car, the term need to be over 84 months to achieve the maximum allowable payment set out by the bank. we have tried to obtain financing for [redacted] through the bank but because she has only had it for a year, and again the terms set out by the bank, overall credit etc, she doesn't qualify to trade it in. we would like to trade her into something else at her request, but the bank is not allowing it at this time. any credit application is subject to the bank's approval. she needs to keep the car and keep making payments to pay down the balance. Since we are not the finance company, if the bank doesn't approve her, again based on credit etc, there isn't a whole lot we can do, because ultimately she needs to obtain financing.
