My credit card was charged a month before what was told to me in my initial presentation On [redacted] I applied for a membership [redacted] , Membership Services, provided the paperwork The membership promotion at the time was $ [redacted] down and two months free [redacted] stated my first payment on my credit card would be "first part of ***." I agreed to those terms I was provided an Operating Policies and Procedures booklet AFTER signing the contract, along with a fitness class schedule and business cards My [redacted] credit card statement showed a $ [redacted] charge I contacted Prairie Life and was told it was in their policy manual to bill a month in advance for monthly membership fee This policy was NEVER pointed out to me at the initial presentation On [redacted] , [redacted] ***, General Manager, offered her apologies and said, "There is nothing we can do about the charge." I also stated to her that no where on the contract does it state when the first membership fee will be charged

Complaint is that prairie life bills [redacted] dollars for a missed paymentI can't get out of my contract without paying the reciculous fees I was contacted by prairie Life yesterday [redacted] about a payment that didn't go through yesterday [redacted] I was at work I figured I would call the next day (today) and resolve [redacted] from Prairie Life called me this morning [redacted] informing me about my missed paymentShe said I would need to pay the balance for the missed payment ( [redacted] dues,) $***;the late payment fee from Prairie Life $ [redacted] and the return fee from their processing company which is $ [redacted] totaling $ [redacted] in late feesI tried to despute the charge with [redacted] she asked her supervisor to waive fees and they wouldn't as they said they had already done so once beforeI really feel like this is an unfair practiceI have been hit with this $ [redacted] late fee in [redacted] and reluctantly paid it because it was $ [redacted] to cancel my contract even though I wanted outIn order

Previous manager in which I signed my gym membership offered different amenities than current manager I signed my contract in what I believe to be in [redacted] at the Prairie Life on [redacted] in [redacted] At that time the manager's name was [redacted] he stated that childcare amenities were included with my membership for hours per day because "Parents can't exercise if they do not have someone to watch their kids"At that time I did not use the childcare services as I did not have children but it was an important amenity to me because we were planning on starting a familyFast forward to this month and I inquire about daycare services for my now [redacted] old (I finally feel comfortable with leaving him with others at this age)The employee at the front desk states that I would have to get a membership for my [redacted] old at **$ per monthI called the manager to clarify the situation and she states that [redacted] had been fired for being a poor manager and also misrepresenting the serv

Just adding to all of the complaints about the greediness (and rudeness) of Prairie Life
My credit card number was stolen and cancelled suddenly before getting a new one, causing me to be late with payments This card was connected to more than companies for automatic payments Every company contacted me, and I turned around and gave them the new number I thought I had everyone done, but companies did not contact me at first, including Prairie Life The other sent letters, and I immediately fixed the number Still nothing from Prairie Life Not until I had missed payments! I am now being charged TRIPLE my monthly payment to catch up, due in full They had decline charges on top of late fees, on top of who knows what else, adding up to more than what I could afford On top of that, they're the only ones who treated me like a criminal from day one, and out of all the accounts we had going through this card, they were the only ones charging fees What does that say about Prairie Life?
There are other places that aren't such bullies, with newer equipment, and SO much more user friendly when it comes to guests, etc

On ***, I attempted to close out my account and cancel my membership with this agencyI spoke with someone who took down my debit card information for a one-time payment at that time for the full amount, and they requested that I send an email to them to confirmwhich I did soThe person said she would run the card immediately
Three weeks later, they ran the card and I didn't have sufficient funds to cover itThey added the total amount back to the account, plus late fees, and called up to demand paymentI took the call while sitting in a parking lot with my partner, ***, using the car's systems, informed the person I spoke to that I didn't have a job, and couldn't afford muchThe person asked for a one-time payment of $***So I gave them the information, and she said she'd run it throughThat person took a full day before she ran the payment, and added the card (without my permission) to my accountWe asked for a full statement of charges, given that I had
