Preciado Auto Repair

On 1/27, my car was on the rode and I noticed that while driving and making a stop my brakes did not make a full stop so I pulled into an *** on *** in ***. I spoke to the gentlemen at *** to let him know my car was in their parking lot and I was going to have it towed. He recommended a local guy whom owns an auto repair about 2 miles away. I phoned him (*** the owner) and explained the issue with the brakes. He stopped by and looked at the vehicle and stated the car had to be towed to his garage since it could not be driven. I had the car towed to his garage the same day and he was to look at the issue and call me for further details. He phoned to tell me my that mcar need new brake lines since the ones in my car where rusted
and it would cost me $300 (quote best price on copper brake lines). I'm not a mechanic so I trusted that the price and mechanic work was right on target and I would be back on the road. I picked up my car later that week and drove it home but on way I noticed that the brakes were grinding and not making a full stop. The next day I call him and explain that there is still an issue with the brakes, he says bring it in my cousin will check them out. His cousin proceeds to tell me that the car needs all new brake pads and rotors.
I was appalled that the mechanic had my car and did not bother to inform me or check that the braking system was not functioning and put me at risk on the road.
I immediately told his cousin to contact ***. While speaking to *** I realized that he did not have any remorse or accepted responsibility in the situation. His answer "well I changed your brake line". The conclusion is he basically figured he would charge me $300 (quick job) for the brake line and neglected to inform me about the brake pads and rotors putting me and my children in a dangerous situation on the road. He should not be in the auto repair business and the place is shady. I have since found a reliable mechanic and he stated I was overcharged.
