I purchased a headstone from Mrs. [redacted] on 2/25/13. This headstone still hasn't been placed at the grave site.I went into Precious Memory Memorial on 2/25/13 and payed 476.33 for a headstone for my deceased sister. My charges were $425 for the stone,$11 for lettering and $40.33 for (I don't know). She explained that there would be a few weeks for delivery. I told her that the burial site was at [redacted]. At that time Mrs. [redacted] assured me that she had dealt with this cementary before and they wouldn't have a problem. She sent a text to me with a picture of the product a week later. I visited the grave site three times to descover that there was no headstone there. I called her to ask why after those visits weeks apart within a two month period, she didn't inform me as to why, but after I contacted [redacted] I was told that there was a fee of $125 to allow out side contractors to deliver headstones. So I called Mrs [redacted] and asked her why didn't she inform me of this previously upon me paying her? She then told me that she thought she has dicussed this with me, I told her no because I would have paid it at that time. And if she had a working relationship with them and knew the rules when dealing with [redacted], why didn't she bring up this installation fee no of the times when I checked the grave site for the headstone after the stone was supposed to be delivered? When I had gotten fed up with her excuses and attitude I asked her to refund my money because it made more sense to deal directly with the [redacted] than her and her attitude, I was told no refund!! So still today I have no money or headstone at my sister grave site. I informed her that I was displeased and I would be seeking help to remedy this situation.Desired Settlement I would like to have the installation fee payed by Mrs.[redacted] and my headstone delivered to my sister grave site at [redacted]. I would like Mrs [redacted] if she doesn't agree to pay the installation fee and deliver this headstone I purchased Seven months ago, I want a full refund with additional fees for the time stress and lack of professionalism on her part. I think $50 per month the stone hasn't been delivered is fair. $350 additional to the 476.33 is more than fair.Business Response My company only sell headstones, and with all potential sells. I must first contact the cemetery to get specifications(size stone allowed on grave site). There is usually no more than one inch for error. By this, I explain this to all potential customers. I also tell them all Memphis cemeteries have installation fee, and I must get this information before we proceed. This is the only way I can price a stone. I always have a minimal of two appointments; often time more and I do not take payments until I get the information I need from cemetery and customer must approve the artwork(sketch) showing precisely what the stone is going to look like. Since there is ABSOLUTELY NO room for errors. Ms. [redacted] stated she remember me telling her about the specification, but she conviencely cant recall the cemetery installation fee. She also stated she was going to contact cemetery, to find out if this fee was paid at time of burial. I suggested she check her contract. Ms. [redacted] sister been deceased for many years and it's possible she forgot all the burial details. However she sign a contract agreeing to have the stone made. I am not required to refund her. My company or any business under no obligation to pay the cemetery for a customer. This fee can be paid two ways by the customer directly to cemetery and many families do, or by the headstone company once received from customer. Either way this fee is initiated and required by cemetery. First I had to defend myself, now second when I met Ms. [redacted] she was still very emotional about her sister death although it's been many years; and I do understand from my own personal loss. I conversated with her probably for more than a hour about her sister. Seen like she needed an unbias release. She also stated she didn't visit the gravesite often because of the time passed and not putting a stone down. After we talked once the stone was ready is when she stated she didn't know about the fee. However I paid the cemetery for her. Under no obligation just having a heart. She didn't get in touch with me until after she contact Revdex.com. I told her I paid the cemetery for her and the headstone been on the grave for several months. She apologized and said she hadn't been to the gravesite and she was going to withdraw her complaint.
