I've had a successful business since During all those years I've never had this type Complaint, or been taken to court!!! I've always stood by our work and will do so in this Case as well.I've talked with Mr [redacted] and he has agreed that I will refund him $for labor which he is happy with When he left my shop, we were in the understanding that there was more work to be done on his truck, but he was going to take care of that himself The check is being mailed to Mr [redacted] today

With reference to Revdex.com Complaint ID: *** (***), the following transpired when *** *** had his car towed into Precision Auto and Tire for repair.Simply stated Mr*** has a limited budget, and the truck had multiple problems, however he thought the transmission was
slipping.The truck wouldn't start, so we put a new starter in it, and burnt up that starter so replaced that one. Finally, after checking on other complications, we found the engine had been swapped out from the original engine. We worked on the vehicle for over hours, yet we only charged for hours labor at $98.00/hr, and $for the starter, not the hours we actually put into it.We regret not being able to fix Mr***'s truck, however with his limited budget and desire to take it back to Arkansas, we left it as is

I am rejecting this response because:First I did not give them a budget so the attack on the limited budget  was uncalled for. If they were able to fix this truck they should have. When the truck was brought in I told them about the engine and told them that it originally had a 305, but was changed to a 350 from the beginning so they knew what they were working on.  I was needing to get this truck back because it was stranded in Osage Beach, MO, about 4 1/2 hours away from where I live. He is just now claiming the truck had multiple problems, OK WHAT ARE THEY? If they  are claiming to diagnose this for 5.5 hours and they can't tell me exactly what the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it, that's a real problem. I was told the timing was messed up, ok what else is wrong with the truck since it had multiple problems with it? If you don't know what you are doing or what's wrong or how to fix the vehicle it's not ok to claim it had multiple problems and then try to justify this with a large repair bill, when nothing was even repaired! Charging me for a new starter that they burnt up and burning up my battery in doing so is a real problem for me, it cost me additional money! It' s not saying much for the shop if the mechanics really did put in 5.5 hours in diagnosing this and not being able to tell exactly what the problem is and how much to would be to fix it.  Maybe they should have put a better mechanic on this. It's no favor, break or discount when the vehicle cost more and was in worse shape leaving the shop. The vehicle at least started and was able to drive some before it went to the shop after they worked on the truck it was completely undrivable and didn't even start for the transport driver. If they knew what the problem was and how to fix it they should have. It would have been cheaper to have the truck fixed correctly then paying for it to be transported to my house!!! It is incompetence and gouging the repair bill that I am really upset with,  that is not the way to do business!! I am not satisfied with this experience at all and would not suggest that anyone take any vehicle to this shop. People should be aware of what they are getting into when they take their vehicle to this shop.
