Precision Automotive Service Reviews (1)

Review: I orginally took my vehicle to Precision Automotive on December 29, 2014. The vehicle had to be towed (as it was not drivable). I followed the tow truck in a rental vehicle to the facility. I explained what was going on with my car to the owner/operator ([redacted]). He advised me that he would look into it and get back with me. I contacted him on 12/30/14 just to check, and he stated he hadn't looked at it yet. So I decided to wait a while due to the holiday, I contacted him again to check the status on January 5, 2015. At that time, he gave me an estimate of between $1200-1400. I told him I would give him a call back after I discussed my options with my father. I waited a couple days before calling him to confirm him starting work on the vehicle. So I figured I would give him time to work on the car, before calling again. My brother drove by the shop location and noticed that my car was still in the same spot it had been in for a while. (At this time, I drove to the location myself...I noticed that my car along with several others did not have tags, but I did not make a big deal of it thinking the owner/operator removed them so that they would not get stolen since he has an open lot with no gate/security). So I called the owner/operator & he stated that he had to "order more parts". I waitied another week or so to contact the owner/operator. At this time he stated that it was more damage than he originally thought so now the estimate was $2000. I (along with my father) went to the location directly to talk to the owner/operator. We talked to him for awhile then told him to continue the repair. He stated that it should only be a few more days. (We went on January 27, 2015). Needless to say, the car was not finished in a a few days because he "had to order more parts". I had to go out of town for business so I waited until close to my return date to call him. I contacted him on February 10, 2015. He states that "he had to order more parts". At this time I told him I was tired of him telling me that and I needed my vehicle. He stated that it would be done by the end of the week. I called on February 13, 2015. He said it was not done and that it should be done by Monday. I called on Monday, February 16, 2015 he said he still needed to take it on a road test, so Tuesday would be better. My father went to pick up the car Tuesday, February 17, 2015 (because I was still out of town). The owner/operator stated that my car had no tags. I spoke with him and told him that he needed to locate my tags because they were on there when I brought it in. He stated that I couldn't be sure because it came in on a tow truck. I reminded him that I followed the tow truck in and also that I had pictures. He promptly go off the phone. After getting off the phone with him, I told my father not to pay him and to leave the car until my tags are located. The owner/operator stated that he doesn't know where they are. So either he has lost them or someone has stolen them from his property because it is unsecure. I had to contact the DMV and stayed on the phone with them for an hour describing the situation. I was advised that I have to go to the DMV in person to get new tags, and noone can do that for me. This is a major inconvenience because I am currently still away on business. So my car STILL cannot be driven. I am dissatisfied with the timeframe that my car has been at Precision Automotive, the lack of updates (meaning, he NEVER contacted me during this ordeal, I or my father have had to contact him, if we had not, the car more than likely would still be unrepaired to this day), and the nonchalant attitude regarding my missing tags on my vehicle. To add to that, if someone does have my tags and has had an accident, ran a toll or a light with cameras, I will be responsible because the tags are registered to me. This will just add to the costs I have had to bear while awaiting these repairs. NOTE: I have phone records of the times/dates I have contacted Precision Automotive and I also have a photo that proves that my tags were on the car when taken to Precision Automotive.Desired Settlement: At this time I am requesting that my bill be significantly reduced. I have been severely inconveniced by Precision Automotive. I have not had a vehicle for almost 2 months, and I do not have tags on my car. So now I am going to be inconvenienced even more because now I have to visit the DMV for something that is of no fault of mine.
