Precision Body & Paint Inc Reviews (5)

I apologize for the long delays regarding your vehicleOur shop is extremely backed up on repairs at this pointThere was a miscommunication with the insurance company and getting the correct information to be able to send an estimate and pictures to themI have spoken to the insurance
adjuster and we have waived all of the storage chargesWe will only need to collect the tow charges that we paid out, then we will be able to allow the vehicle to be taken outThe adjuster will have the tow company pay that to us when they come to pick up your vehicle

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The referenced vehicle is a 1997 Jeep Wrangler which had 152,455 ODO miles at the time of the loss. The vehicle owner described the loss as she "drove it into a ditch".
She filed an Insurance claim with Geico Insurance. The Geico Adjuster was considering the vehicle may be a total loss but [redacted]...

really wanted to keep it so in an effort to help her he wrote a low estimate specifying the use of after market and salvage parts instead of new factory parts. After installing said parts and extensively road testing [redacted] picked up the Jeep. The after market steering gear then failed and started leaking so she brought it back complaining of extremely difficult steering. Geico came to the shop and approved a factory steering gear for replacement. After replacing the factory gear she picked it up a second time. Then came back again because of difficult steering and the steering pump had failed since she picked it up the second time. Geico came to the shop again and reluctantly approved aftermarket steering pump and parts. Geico charged her 25% betterment on these part as they are considered maintenance items. After having more problems she came back again and Geico denied paying for any further parts or repairs due to worn out parts that they determined were not related to the loss.
We did what Geico paid for and more. Geico charged her the contracted deductible stated in her policy of $500.00 and the 25% Betterment on parts of $74.78. If she is unhappy with her policy deductible and betterment she should take that up with Geico.

Responding to complaint from [redacted] , vehicle was repaired at Precision Body & Paint in Bend Or. 97702. Repair consisted of replacing a door and blending the paint onto the 1/4 panel and fender , as per the insurance company's estimate . The vehicle had to be jumped started when it was...

brought into the shop for repairs to begin and the battery was charged but didn't seem to hold a charge after it sat for a while. As with most vehicles we repair that are moved in and out of the shop they sometimes build up carbon and fluids in the exhaust due to the short time they are ran . The vehicle for Miss. [redacted] was taken for a test drive after repairs were done as with most of the vehicles we repair , this normally clears any fluids created from short run times to clear from the exhaust system . This was not the case with her vehicle , as a precaution we had the vehicle checked by a mechanic at our cost . The mechanic found a PCV value clogged and contaminated oil in the vehicle , the pvc value is for venting pressure in the crankcase when the motor is running . There was no communication with the shop as to the drivability of the vehicle and that is why the vehicle was never push in for repairs, to our knowledge it was running at the time it was damaged . Miss [redacted] was not thrown off our lot , our hours on Saturday are 9AM - 2 Pm and it was time to close our production person sent he an e-mail on 9-17-15 letting her know the vehicle was done and ready for pick up . Miss. [redacted] came in on 10-3-2015 for pick up ? As per the body and paint repairs we did complete them as per the estimate provided from the insurance company , there was no  work done to the cooling system so I don't know why the vehicle would have any cooling issues or be in need of coolant when it was picked up . Precision feels we have completed the work we were paid for and that any issues with the motor is due to high mileage and poor maintenance of the vehicle . Precision is willing to help Miss. [redacted] in getting her vehicle back to a state prior to the accident while not assuming any liability or wrong doing on our part . What condition it was in is unknown for a vehicle with 162000 miles . I have talked to all who have been evolved with the repair of this vehicle and have heard  their account of how and what happened during the time the vehicle was in our possession . However we are still willing to help get the issues resolved as soon as possible so Miss. [redacted] will have transportation again . I will give Miss. [redacted]  a call and see if we can move the vehicle to our other store so our certified mechanic can diagnose the problem and repair it . Still , we are doing this to help someone in a tough spot while assuming no liability for problems prior to the body repairs and paint . Greg M[redacted] , Manager -Precision Body and Paint of Bend.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Per my conversation with Greg M[redacted] at Precision Body and Paint.  They offered to tow my 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 gt to Precision Body and Paint
in Beaverton, so that their certified mechanic can repair my vehicle per our earlier conversation.  They informed me that they should have a tow
truck at [redacted] Bend, OR 97702 hopefully by this weekend, otherwise Greg M[redacted] will be in contact with me.  They are also providing
a free loaner car from their Bend location which they will let me know at that time when I can pick it up.  I am ok with these conditions that have been
discussed to me as of 10/29/15.
Sincerely, [redacted]
