Review: We took our car to Precision Body Works to have the windshield and back glass replaced after they had been broken in a storm. We filed a claim with our insurance and took it to Precision since they are a preferred repair facility with our insurance company. Precision kept our car for 26 days after originally telling us the car would be fixed in a week, which caused us to exceed our rental car limit with our insurance policy, and then Precision refused to pay for a rental. Part of the reason Precision kept the car long after replacing the glass is because they caused a problem with our car that did not exist before we took it to them, and they were supposedly trying to figure out how to fix it. Before we took the car in to Precision, our convertible top went down and up. It functioned. Since leaving the car with Precision to do the glass repairs, the convertible top no longer goes down. Even though this is a problem that Precision caused, they are not willing to take responsibility. The manager claims that they tried to get the problem diagnosed and that they called every Pontiac dealer in Richmond with no success, but when we called a dealer in Richmond, the dealer was able to take it in. This leads us to believe that Precision lied about calling every dealer in Richmond. Furthermore, we have to pay to have the problem with the top diagnosed because Precision won't pay for it even though the top worked fine when we took it to them. So we have to pay to diagnose a problem that did not exist before we took it to Precision. Precision should pay for the diagnostic and for any repairs that have to be done to correct the problem that they created!Desired Settlement: Precision should pay for the diagnostic of our convertible top and for any repairs that have to be done to correct the problem that they caused with the malfunctioning of the top. If for some reason the top cannot be repaired, Precision needs to pay the appropriate amount of damages determined through the legal system.

Review: I had my car at Precision Body Works for repairs from where a tow truck damaged it. While there the car was damaged heavily from hail storm from where they painted my car then left it outside during the storm. Precision will not take responsibility for the damage they cause to my front drivers rim where it was scraped up against a curb. The owner [redacted] said they do not have curbs up there and they didn't do it. The car also sustained scratches that were not on my vehicle prior to leaving it with them. Also there is a lot of overspray on my tail lights, fog lights, rear passenger window, and damaged my vent visors as well. The owners [redacted] and [redacted] will only say they did not do the damage, nor will they take any responsibility for the actions of their employee's. They also have stated they will not guarantee the work that was done by their shop, and they refuse to finish and complete the work that is still needing to be done.Desired Settlement: Replace my Rims that were damaged from their employee while the car was at their body shop.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Between [redacted] and Precision the work that was supposed to be completed never was. I still have scratches on my deck lid, I still Do Not have my Vent Visors, There are still areas of where the paint had been chipped off from where they took the rear bumper off and reinstalled it, Numerous scratches on the vehicle that have been addressed and was suppose to be fixed prior to pick up. The Rims were damaged by one of the employee's at the Body Shop as they were not damaged prior. There is still overspray on the lower grill, and the left fog light. They were also suppose to fix the front grill as per [redacted] from [redacted] the clip could be broken. I was guaranteed that Precision would fix these issues to the car before I was to pick it up. The Rim situation was to be discussed and I have explained numerous times I drive a 53 foot Tanker, there is no way I would damage my own rims.

At this present moment the car is still unfinished and the evidence is very noticeable. I was forced to take my car unfinished. I even wrote on the Final Bill that I was forced to pick it up. I am attaching a copy of the Final Bill from Precision where [redacted] signed off on my statement, and the previous RO of the work that was to be re-done and completed.
