June 5, Customer brought us a Aftermarket High Performance Kit increasing his engine size by 33% that he had purchased elsewhere and his bare engine cases that had been modified by another shopApparently the customer had a falling out with that shopHe asked us to assemble his
engineAt that time we informed the customer that the Kit he had was made for racing applications and was NOT recommended for general street use or daily transportation and that the extra heat and vibration generated by the excessive size of the Kit would need more than maintenanceand due to the age of the customers parts we accepted the job with the understanding that there would be NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.An issue with oil leakage was discovered in the primary chaincase and was corrected, But a further issue was found to be a broken tab on customers oil tank which leaked constantly and the customer welded himself. The smoking issue as stated by customer may be related to the engine not being fully broken in, as stated by customer, may take as much as miles, and we cannot verify how many miles the customer has doneAlso, at time of finish we gave customer a manufacturers recommended break in schedule, which we are not able to verify he followed.in the interest of customer goodwill we took the vehicle back into the shop for adjustments and minor repair at no cost to the customer on several occasions. The customer says another shop determined that several things had been installed improperly but does not list them, so I cannot respond to these.Customer is asking for refund, but due to fact that we informed customer that this kit would be problematic for him and there would be NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND we do not beleive a refund is warranted

Review: Approximately eight months ago I had an engine kit installed on my [redacted] motorcycle. From the time I received the bike back it has been leaking oil incessantly. It has also smoked far more then it should. It has been back to the shop on four different occasions with the problem still not being solved. There are other issues that are being addressed that also caused additional damage being done by the shop. I was informed it could take up to 5000 miles for the engine to seal and seat properly. Concerned that additional engine damage could be caused by the leaking oil, I had another shop do a preliminary inspection and was informed that several things were installed improperly. I am arranging to have a thorough inspection at further cost to myself. The motorcycle has spent an extensive amount of time at the shop and none of the problems have been corrected. If you need any additional information I would be glad to get it to you as quickly as I can. Any help you could be in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanceDesired Settlement: Refund of parts and labor
