Precision Door Service, Inc. Reviews (1)

Precision Door Service charged me $120 for one set of roller and $150 for 45 minutes labor. Salesman denied coupon that call-center promised. In Mid-March, my garage door's right cable fell off (not even broken) from drum. The door stayed about 6 inches above ground. I contacted Precision Door call center about their price and promotion. A lady told me their labor was about $75 per hour and I could use that $39.95 coupon in magazine for $75 service call. When the serviceman came, he claimed the info I got from call center just few minutes ago was not valid. That meant I had to pay $75 for service call anyway. He told me I must replace the rollers, 10 of them in total. Otherwise, he couldn't just re-attach the cable for me. The price for one set of nylon roller? He charged $120, which, in his words, was originally at $195. Then he charged $150 for labor. Actually, he only spent about 45 minutes to replace 10 rollers, and re-attached the cable.Later, when I talked with my friends, everyone said Precision Door was too much off business ethic. Those nylon rollers, which were not even taken from package, definitely were not worth $120, let alone $195. The charge for that 45 minutes labor was ridiculous. Also, what the call center said and what serviceman charged just did not match up. They played kind of lure-and-kill game against customer.I agree Precision Door needs to make profit from business. But, profiting by dishonest conduct is not a decent manner. I file this complaint simply to remind other customers of thinking twice before calling Precision Door for service.Desired SettlementPrecision Door should refund overcharged portion.Business Response /[redacted]/In researching our trip to the Li home, I see where they had a racked door which has a charge of $150 to correct (safety issue is a concern with this type of work as well), a $75 sf charge which is typical and the tech gave her a break on cost of rollers for $120. Rollers are not "pre-packaged, so this should not be of concern. Call center stated a $75 sf plus $75/hr-we did not apply the $75/hr quote to the invoice. The techs can indeed replace rollers in 10 min since they are skilled in this job and all other issues involved in garage doors. Whether a job takes 15 min or 3 hours may not be understandable to someone not familiar with this type of work. Most importantly, I never received a call from the ** home re: a $39.95 sf coupon and had they presented this to the tech, it would have been honored. Perhaps there is a mis-understanding re: the coupon. Again, I never had a call from the customer with an issue. I welcome a call at this time and will be glad to go over their concern and hopefully can clear up any misunderstanding.
