To whom it may concern,      I don't know what happened to the 1st one you sent over, but this one from today is the first time anyone here has seen it. Not only the latches, but all the hardware that Mr. [redacted] has on his fence are powder coated stainless steel, not...

plastic. In 15 yrs of operation here I have never even purchased a plastic latch, much less sold one to anyone. If he has a plastic latch on that fence it was not provided by nor was it installed by this company. To my knowledge Mr. [redacted] has had 2 issues with one latch, the spring on the receiver that keeps the latch down around the striker bar. The last time he stopped in here I spoke with him myself and offered to replace the latch. He didn't want a new latch, only the spring. He was provided the spring for the 2nd time at no charge. I want to be clear here, Mr. [redacted] seems to posses the only 2 latches over the past 15 yrs and literally thousands of them in the field that we've ever had a problem with. It's simply not possible to damage this very simple part or the spring through the course of normal operation. But both times we corrected the issue at no charge to the customer. The drop rod is a solid, 1/2" diameter, 24" long piece of stainless steel.  Again, not possible to damage or bend it with normal operation or use. Every double gate that we sell comes with one drop rod. If Mr [redacted] would like another one, he is more than welcome to purchase it, but it was not on his, nor is it on anyone else's job, included in the price of the gate.      His drain tile problem is just that. His problem. Mr. [redacted] was on site when the job was installed and instructed my crew to put a post in a specific spot, after being verbally informed that if we hit his drain tile it would be his responsibility to repair. He was already aware of this since the contract that I have with his signature on it clearly states, "You are responsible for any private underground lines on your property". We did however, repair the drain tile to his satisfaction before the job was completed at no cost to him. Any subsequent issues he's had with it we have no knowledge of.  We've made 3 trips back to this job for minor adjustments on the fence, none of which were actual warranty issues and replaced the spring in his latch twice. And again, with no charge to Mr. [redacted].      I will not addresss the absurdity of a full refund a year after the job was installed.
