Review: I contacted the business on 08/13/13 regarding some irregular billing practices. I had initially contacted them to do service on my dishwasher. The repairman came while I was not present and fixed the unit without giving me a call or quote on what the price would be. When I received the bill, the repair was very minor and I have no problem paying the labor or parts associated with this job. What I am concerned about is that they tacked on $24.00 for Mileage (20 miles), and $150.00 for travel time. I contacted the company and spoke with [redacted] whom was very rude and said she would put me on the phone with the owner. A few moments later she said she would take $50 off the bill. I advised her that nobody advised me of any travel time, and that why are they double billing me for it. I advised her that I would gladly pay the bill today in full should she help remedy this situation. [redacted] became verbally argumentive towards me and I told her to have a nice day and would take this up with the department of consumer protection. Within one and a half hours I was contacted by a law firm out of [redacted] contact ####-###-####, and they stated they had a serious matter of a legal suit that they needed me to pay the money now or they would come after me. I told them to send me legal papers for suit. I am shocked at this business and hope you can help with with this wrongdoing. Please contact me with any additional information you may require. I have attached a copy of the original bill, and the second bill with all the travel related expenses attached. The above statement is the truth to the best of my knowledge. Our billing practices are very consistent. When an existing customer calls for service we respond, diagnose the problem and make any needed repairs and bill the customer, unless they have asked for a quote before making repairs. Mr [redacted] was already a customer of ours there has been no change in the billing practice since the last invoice on 2/4/13 which he did not dispute. He was far from "gladly" saying anything to me he was rude and confrontational from the moment I answered the phone, as far as remedying the situation I put him on hold and asked my boss what we could do for him and my boss authorized me to discount the bill by $50.00 when I relayed this to him he told me "I am not ever going to pay this bill" and hung up. I turned it over to collection based on his refusal to pay the bill. I have included a copy of the invoice from 2/4/13 for comparison and the bill in question with a copy of the job report. I am sorry that he found me rude but what I find amazing is that anyone would expect service without being charged the cost to get to the location it is not as if he brought it to us to repair his location is 29.1 miles from our location. Please let me know if anything further is needed from my company. To be clear there has been no payment made on this invoice and the balance due remains $330.31.
