Had an appointment set on a Saturday between 4pm and 7pmReceived confirmation emailNo show, and no call as promisedThey should have said that there were no appointments available so I could have either made other arrangements, or scheduled for a later date As such I had a car stuck in the garage all weekend This was my first time dealing with this company

To whom it may concern,
Below you will find details of the call back to the customer
from my Service Manager that was performed on on January 30,
“Today January 30, I visited Mrs*** about an
/>
issue with her *** garage door, she believed air was leaking into her garage
threw a gap between the stop molding and the doorI inspected the door and
found no gaps around the door and showed her that the stop molding (double
blade garage) in fact was contacting the surface of the door panels and is
working exactly as designedThis of course was unsatisfactory to her and she
demanded I fix the door and dismissed any notion that the door is working
properlyUpon further inspection the second door which was not in question has
a mail slot installed by us at time of installation, when I explained this was
surely a larger problem as far as the source of cold air she insisted this was
not the problem
At the time of install the larger of the two doors ( 8x9)
was a solid door without windows, she then changed her mind and decided to
purchase a window section for additional light, after two days she blamed the
windows for making the garage cold and wanted the solid section backAttempt
after attempt has been made to satisfy her complaints and each time nothing is
found wrong, she believes we are to blame that her garage is not comfortably
warm and demands we return her money or she will seek legal actionIf anything
could have been done I surely would have fixed it but she is asking a garage
door to warm her garage which is simply impossible.”
In closing a garage door was never designed to keep
temperatures to the level of a living room.
Additionally, this is the coldest winter in years and day after day
of low temperature with no daytime increases lead to colder garages as well as
houses. I feel we have attempted numerous
times with significant cost to my company to appease the customer to no avail. I hope the Revdex.com will understand we have tried everything to satisfy our customer

My apologies for not reaching out to you sooner
I met with Mr.& Mrs*** on February and examined the door
I have Identified three things to be done to try to alleviate her concerns. We have ordered the parts needed and hope to have them in house late next week. I have had my office contact the customer to inform them we will set up an appointment when the parts arrive She understands
I will inform you when these fixes are complete. Please contact me should you require any further information

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Regards,

I have read your complaint and I am troubled that you had such a bad experience with us, frankly this is atypical and not the way we operate. I am refunding you the service fee plus tax
of $73.83. I want you both to know that we take pride in our A+
rating with the Revdex.com and the scenario you described is not the way we operate. I have placed the technician that went out to your home back into training where he will be re-trained on how to operate in the customers home. Thank you for your feedback, it helps us get better as an organization and will ensure that this scenario does not occur in the future in someone else's home
I will forward a refund check the week of the May 26th
Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
1. The doors are drafty and allow cold air into garage - you can feel the draft in many places if you run your hand around edges of garage doors in cold weather.
2. You can see the small narrow spaces between the rubber seal and the door in sunny weather - light is leaking into them. You can feel the draft coming in from these spaces in cold weather.
3. Upon further examination we noticed that the black rubber strip on the bottom of the right door is splitting into two parts lengthwise - can be easily seen from the outside when you open the door.
4. As an experiment we compared temperature inside and outside the garage for the last couple of days: there was either no difference at all or a difference of 1 or 2 degrees.
5. The mail slot was a part of the original order. And as I mentioned before, for the first two years garage was much warmer.
6. We continue to demand that the Precision Doors Co. fix the problem.

Review: We had them come for a service call for our garage door. The service person looked up but never thoroughly examined anything. We were told orally what could be done, but were never given a written estimate. The outrageous price we were told was $1500 to fix it. To replace everything, was going to be $1800. We were being sold to plain and simple! We said that was a lot of money. The man went into his truck and came back and told us that his supervisor said instead of the $1800, we could replace everything for the $1500. Again no prices were ever written down. He did give us a folder with general literature about their new garage doors. My husband and I felt all of this was very shady, so we said no we needed to think about this. We were still required to pay for the service call even though no service was done and no estimate was provided. I gave him my credit card and he charged us for the service call. The next day we get a coupon in the mail from them in a [redacted] for $25.00 off the service call and a free complete lube job on all moving parts and a free 18-point safety check (none of that was done for us) or a free estimate for a door replacement.

I called the service person and told him I had the coupon. He said it couldn't be used but they would apply the service call fee toward a new door package. I called the business office twice. My first call was not returned. The second time, I got a supervisor on the phone who told me that the coupon could only be used if a service was preformed. What a scam! I am so surprised that this company has a good rating with you! They are so shady! We contacted another company who came out for free, and their prices weren't outrageous like this, and they truly looked at the door!Desired Settlement: We are writing this primarily for Revdex.com information. They use your A÷ logo in their advertisements and website. This is why we first called them. A refund would be nice, but we are doubtful that would happen.

Regards,

Review: In February of 2010 we ordered two new garage doors from Precision Garage Doors Company. One door was ordered with windows, the other one - without. The total price of the contract was $2800. The doors were installed in March of the same year. We immediately felt the difference: the garage felt very warm and our bedroom above the garage was much warmer. For two years we enjoyed our new beautiful and warm garage doors.

In February of 2012 we decided to add windows to another door. I called Precision Garage Door Company and ordered the windows. We were charged additional $375. A little bit later the new windows were installed. The moment technicians left I realized that garage is very cold. I waited a couple of days, but it was still very cold in comparison to what it was before. I called the company. They sent technicians to check. They found nothing. So we decided to change new windows back to regular door panel which was done two weeks later. Nothing helped. The garage was and still is freezing. Our bedroom upstairs is very, very cold. Our heating bill went up almost twice. I called the company several times. Every time they come, check and say nothing can be done, they don't see any problems. But the garage is very cold and I know that it happened right after the windows were installed. The last time I had company's rep in my house last week. Basically he left me high and dry, saying "there is no problem". We paid the total of $3175 for the doors and in result it feels colder in the garage than with our old doors. Please help us to resolve the problem.Desired Settlement: I know that the quality of the doors itself is very good, b/c we had it for two years and were very happy with it. We think the problem is in installation. We want company to take care of this problem.
