Precision Slate & Tile Roofing Co. Ltd. Reviews (1)

[redacted] met with me at her Bexley home located [redacted] on October 5, 2017 and informed me of a leak that was coming through the same location my crew had previously fixed.  She began to express that she is extremely disappointed that we did not credit her...

for slate we used out of her garage and stated this several times throughout my meeting with her.  I did inspect the work that my company performed which was to install hand-soldered copper roof pan at the bottom of the valley. The surrounding roof and valley above the pan are extremely sub-standard and we did not install this work.  The work that we did perform stopped the leak for one year and one month.  I will also like to note during a telephone conversation with Mr. [redacted], he expressed that it never rained for the last year and one month.  I explained to Mr. [redacted] that it did rain, which I know of two 1 ½ in. rain storms and one record rain storm of over 3” in. which occurred 6 months prior to the current leak.  Where this roof did not leak.  This makes this leak a NEW LEAK.  This leak could occur in the same location as previous leak because it is in the valley just above the roof pan we did install to correct the leak we were presented with.     I returned to my office to review the contract and invoice and found that my company did perform the work to handle the leak that was presented to me over a year ago. There was nothing in the contract mentioned concerning the valleys or surrounding roof. When I spoke with Mr. [redacted] he indicated he witnessed that my company replaced the valley also. I Interviewed the crew and they indicated that they did not replace the valley which company policy is that crew are not allowed to deviate from the contract without an approved change order.   Also, the existing valley is done in aluminum trim coil which is a product that my company does not use to replace valleys. For instance, this job would had been done with a copper valley to match the copper roof pan that my company did install per contract (see contract).  There is also evidence that my company did not replace the valley extant on the roof currently such as rusty fasteners and J-channel.   I also discovered that my company did credit Mrs. [redacted] for the slate that we did use from her garage (see invoice) which she received the invoice when the work order was completed via email.   Mrs. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] have expressed that I was disrespectful toward them. They might have misinterpreted my disappointment for their lack of honesty and holding firm to the integrity of my company who has been in the slate business for over 28 years and has received numerous Revdex.com Awards including International Torch for Market Place Ethics Award in 2003 as owner of [redacted].  The roofing industry is extremely muddied for market place ethics.   Most of the work my company performs is the replacement of recently done roofing repairs that failed due to sub-standard application of roofing technology. This roof falls into that category; it should also be noted that the slate work my company performed on original main slate roof of the house was excellent; not one slate was missing and slates my company replaced are virtually undetectable due to the quality of workmanship performed on this roof.  Note, Mrs. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] failed to mention this.  My reputation in the roofing industry is second to no one in the United States.  Anytime, when my company makes a mistake, they are instructed to replace the work entirely at no cost to the owner of the domicile.  My company has replaced entire roofs because I discovered a problem that could not be handle in any other manner.       On October 25, 2017 my [redacted], Trevor F[redacted], met with Mr. [redacted]; Mr. F[redacted] discovered the same issue I did and reported that the customer, Mr. [redacted].  Mr. F[redacted] expressed that Mr. [redacted] understand his explanation.   As per the exhibit of the contract, there is no warrant due to the fact my company DID NOT install this lower rear roof entirely.   I respectfully request a hearing with all parties involved in attendance.   Respectfully Submitted, Edward D[redacted], [redacted] Precision Slate and Tile Roofing, Co., LTD.
