Hi Dottie, The facts are as follows:My husband and I are the homeowners.  We hired Adams Tree Service to trim two trees completely.  The trees that he was suppose to trim were the one in the backyard that was hanging over the pool, and the other one that partly hung over our driveway and our neighbor's pool.  Adams trimmed the tree in the back yard completely.  The tree that partly hangs over our neighbor's yard is the tree that he only trimmed half of the tree.  He left the hanging branches that hangs over our neighbor's pool untrimmed.  As I mentioned, we hired Adams because we are the homeowners and we had hired him two years ago as well.  Adams agreed to do this job but demanded that he receive payment immediately before he did the job.  Because we live in [redacted] and this job is for our home in [redacted] we did not have the time to get a check to him so our tenant, [redacted] offered to pay him and then deduct this payment out of his rent for the following month.  When Adams was trimming the tree, Mr. [redacted] had him do a side job for a certain amount of money that Mr. [redacted] took care of himself.  This side job had nothing to do with our original job, but Adams is trying to confuse the situation and make it seem like it was all one job.  Mr. [redacted] told Adams that he was satisfied with the side job he did, but did not know the details of the job that we hired him for to trim the two trees.  I called Adams after the job to tell him that he needed to go back and finish the trimming.  I have never had someone talk to me so rudely and unprofessionally in my life as Adams did.  Needless to say he refused to honor our agreement and took our money without completing the job.The Revdex.com may want to contact Mr. [redacted] to confirm my story and get a copy of the check that he wrote on our behalf.  Please let me know if this is the case.  It is important to us to follow our complaint through and expose Adams with his wrongdoing because he has a huge presence in our neighborhood and charges an obscene amount of money for his (incomplete) services. Thank you Dottie. [redacted]

Hi [redacted],   First, I would like to thank you for your response and as I stated before we want to resolve this and to your satisfaction.  It is company policy to be paid when the work has been completed for individual homeowners.  In your case you reside in another state and from Adams recollection regarding the previous services he provided to you, there were some issues with receiving the payment in a timely manner.  Regarding your unfavorable communication with Adam, we all have bad days and Adam is sorry if he seemed rude, I would like to assure you this was not his intent.  Adam also, takes great care to have a good understanding of his job scopes however, miscommunication's do arise through no fault of either party just recollections that aren't always conveyed in the way we thought we conveyed them or understood what we thought we heard.  We will not need the check Mr. [redacted] wrote on your behalf.  [redacted] is an established neighborhood with many beautiful, old trees.  It takes someone with experience, skills and knowledge to care for such trees, preserving the values of the homes and the property they reside on.  Cost may, at times, seem unreasonable in terms of a dollar amount, but Adam and his crews (have experience ranging from 5 to 19 yrs. just with him) work very hard and long hours doing very dangerous work and all out in the elements.  Adam carries insurance, has modern and safe equipment as well as labor cost.  These add cost and are necessary.  Adam has many (approx. 65% to 70%) repeat customers and that’s because of the quality of service he provides and has provided for almost 3 decades.  He does his very best to satisfy all his customers and keep issues to a minimum however, there will always be things that come up.  That is just part of life, we can only do our best and to resolve things to the best of our abilities. We hope that you will allow us to finish the tree in question and resolve this issue in a professional manner. Warmest regards, Dottie
