When the snow melts and the vent is uncovered, I will send pictures and accurate measurements. It might be inches off of the ground if you consider the depth of the window well that it comes out over. The other problem with the work done by Preece is that they placed the exhaust vent two inches from the intake. Every firm that I have brought into my home shakes their head at the work they have done. One said, "*** has been doing this long enough to know that all this furnace is doing is taking in it's own exhaust." The first and next times I lost service, it was due to the vent not being high enough. It was *** who told me that I should remove a cap inside of the furnace to draw air from inside the house. The same cap that was not replaced on the no service call that he expects me to pay $163.50. Just negligence or intended negligence. By the way, I have had to remove that cap again, as the $dollar pipe that was put on the outside of my house has fallen off. It is currently sitting in my garage. So, I am back to having the efficiency that I could have had for $less. And since you made the automobile analogy, if this was a car, it would have been replaced by now. Cars have a lemon law. You would have been required to fix my problem in attempts or I could claim that it's a lemon, and you and/or *** would have been required to replace it. This unit is a lemon and I don't think it's ***'s fault. I am not sure what this bureau will ultimately decide. At the very least, it is my desire for my claim to be posted with both including the responses of all the parties involved. The public has the right to know and be protected.Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

Review: In December 2005, Preece Heating and Cooling installed a [redacted] furnace and air conditioner. Since then, the air conditioner has worked flawlessly. The furnace on the other hand has not. At least once a year, but usually more, the furnace breaks down. It has failed for 3 reasons. The air intake fills with snow or the drain gets clogged. One service call required the furnace's motor to be replaced which was covered by the warranty. On one service call, a service technician shared with us how to overcome the intake getting clogged. When this occurs, they informed me to remove a cap in the furnace so that the furnace draws air from inside the house. Service returns, however, I do not receive the higher level of efficiency that I paid $500 premium to receive. At least this prevented me from having to go outside during snowstorms to shovel the drifting snow and to unclog the intake pipe.On our most recent service call for disrupted service, we were told that the drainage line had clogged, again. I asked the technician why our unit had been clogging so frequently. I suggested to him that it probably had something to do with their not installing the furnace correctly causing excess water to get into the furnace. I asked him to make the required repair to meet the [redacted]s specs. He did, but, he billed us for what they should have done in the first place. The service technician, also, observed our furnace was running louder than it should be. I told him that it had been running that way since the motor had been replaced. The replacement motors were not as quiet as the original motors. Since then, the sound has worsened and we can now feel the entire house vibrating while the furnace is running. The motor is no longer under warranty so I expect Preece will require me to pay for that should replacement be necessary. To be noted, on this last service call, the technician deliberately hid the cap, that I would remove to draw air from inside the house. Negligent or purposely?Desired Settlement: I would like this unit to be replaced. I believe that the unit is beyond repair. We have had the motor replaced once already and it seems it needs to be replaced again. Either the unit we received was faulty to begin with or it was installed incorrectly. We have receits confirming we have been getting clean and checks dating back to 2007. We have done nothing for the furnace to be operating this way. I would prefer that the install would be done by someone other than Preece.
