her special order ring, met the required down payment, then bounced several checks to us for the monthly payments. We bent over backwards to accommodate her requests for modifications to her contract. Allowing her to make payment arrangement promises, then break them, even lowered her payment in half, accepting partial payments, ect. As per our company policy at the time, we were required to send the returned checks to Placer County DA office for collections. At that time PCDA had a collection department for returned checks. We have made several collection attempts through the years. Some successful as we have received cash payments at various times. 09-10-2006 we received $50, 06-18-2008 we received $75. The last cash payment we received was $20 on 05-13-2012. We would not accept any checks from Ms. [redacted]. We have sent letters, contacted her references, called numerous times, (until the numbers were disconnected), and offered a reduced settlement amount. We even offered to let her return our ring. She has continued to avoid responsibility to this debt. Maybe instead of ma[redacted] accusations toward Preferred Jewelers about why we are still reporting on her credit file.... how about address the fact that she has a wedding ring she never fully paid for? I am rejecting this response because:The statements made by Preferred Jewelers is false. First I have never wrote out a check to that company. I have asked for validation of the debt multiple times with proof of payments made and have been told that they have them and will not show them to me unless I settle the acct for $300+Secondly this debt is well past the Statute of limitations and 7 year credit reporting period. Everything this company is doing is illegal and I have saved all the email communications between myself and preferred jewelers. I will be retaining an Attorney and filling suit against Preferred Jewelers for Credit Reporting violations per the FCRA and will be seeking Statutory damages unless this item is removed from my credit immediately. On one of the dates he claimed a payment was made I was actually on a camping trip out of State. If this company is putting me through all of this I am sure there are several other people that are having to deal with this harassment. We were also told that we need to settle the acct or to Cease all communications with that company. We will pursue this case until it has been resolved

Review: In 2003 l, when I was 18 years old, I was approved for a line of credit. Per my collections account it was $547.00 total with a monthly payment of $50.00. My collections account states that I have never made a payment, and that I applied for the credit in 2008. I was engaged when I was 18 and got a ring for my fiance. Now with interest, I am being charged $1500.00.This is truly unacceptable. #1 Preferred Jewelers is falsifying information with the credit bureau and stating I applied for credit in 2008. There was absolutely no way that I had done this in 2008. #2 I have never been contacted by this company. I have no derogatory remarks on my credit except from this company. #3 I have attempted twice to remove this from my credit and again the company is restarting the date of last activity and falsifying information. My credit dropped 27 points because they removed and re-added this to my credit history. #4 Regardless if the account was opened in 2003 or 2008, it must be removed from my credit history within 7 years from the date of last activity. at this point it has been 12 years since 2003 and 9 years since 2098.Per my credit report, Date opened:12/12/2004.High Credit:$547.00.Terms:6 months. Date of last payment:12/2008.Date of first delinquency:2/2009 (really? Your saying first time I was late was 4 years later? It would have been paid off way before that if I was never late. Again proof the company is lying!Desired Settlement: I require to have preferred jewelers remove any and all negative information on my credit history from all 3 credit bureaus and stay off my credit per the FDCPA rules and regulations.
