Preferred Warranties, Inc(PWI) would like to respond to *** *** ***’ complaint # *** on
07/31/
On 07/17/14,
*** *** ***’s diagnosis for *** ***’ vehicle was failure of the right
rear axle at the boot and axle seal was leakingLeaking
of the drive axle boot caused failure to the drive shaft Neither item is a covered component under Plus
coverage in the Vehicle Service Contract (VSC).
The VSC is parts’ specific; therefore
parts not listed under the Plus coverage are not covered items
Coverage on the drive shaft is dependent on
the reason for failureWhen a covered part fails due to the failure of a
non-covered part (see item below) the otherwise covered part would not be
eligibleIn this case, the drive shaft failed because of a failure of the
drive axle boot which is a non-covered component
Please refer to the VSC:

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
As stated in my initial complaint this company was well aware of this type of failure and a misrepresentation was made to me that any type of failure would be coveredClaiming to cover all parts and then slipping in fine print covenants like this is a deceptive business practice and has cost me a lot of moneyThe company does not seem to care that not only did I pay them $1,for coverage that didn't cover my failure, but I also had to pay an additional $5,on TOP of that costSo all in all I shelled out $7,for a $11,truck that I haven't even had for a yearIt is clear this organization does not care for customer retention or reputation as they have made ZERO effort to work with me even though I was entirely lied to about my coverage..

Preferred Warranties, Inc(PWI) would like to respond to *** *** ***’s complaint # *** on 03/23/
An independent inspection was completed on *** ***’s vehicle and the diagnosis determined the engine was extremely sludged up and appeared that some rocker arms fell off and got
caught under the camIn addition, it appeared that at least two valve stems had broken off and were laying in the sludgeThe interior of the lower end was heavily sludged and dirty
The inspector’s opinion of cause of failure was the extremely poor internal engine conditions leading to compromised engine operation and lack of proper oil flow, which would cause valve tensioners to malfunction and the rocker arms to fall off, apparently dropped a valve or into the cylinders
Failure due to sludge is not a listed item for coverage under the Vehicle Service Contract (VSC)Please refer to #of the VSC under items the service contract does not cover
THIS SERVICE CONTRACT DOES NOT COVER
Benefits for any breakdown caused by contamination, overheating, lack of coolant or lubricants, lack of oil viscosity, sludge or restricted oil flowExamples include but not limited to: engine and transmission

The vehicle service contract (VSC) states that PWI uses components of the same type and quality as those removed when making repairs
Please refer to the contract:
WHAT IS
COVERED BY THIS AGREEMENT

PWI does give the customer the option to upgrade and pay the differenceThis option was given to *** *** on 12/7/On 12/8/15, *** *** told the claims adjuster to go with the used transmission
When *** *** called on 02/26/16, the VSC was expired as of 12/26/15; therefore PWI is unable to assist with any further repairs

In response to *** ***’s complaint rejection, Preferred Warranties Incwas provided an initial diagnosis that the failure was to the dipstickThe dipstick is not a covered component under the Vehicle Service ContractSince *** ***’s contract was canceled and refunded, his contract is no longer valid with PWI

I bought a used car, it ran beautifully, I had it serviced an inspection shortly after the purchase and suddenly the whole car was a mess, the service station had destroyed my car I had a pretty good plan under Preferred Warranties Inc, and while everything that needed to be done was not covered, everything that the pamphlet said would be covered, absolutely was In addition, the personnel helped a ton, Preferred Warranties helped me get a refund from the service station for the work that the station had botched so I could apply the money towards getting the car fixed properly, the agents spent alot of time on the phone with me giving me advice that was very helpful to maximize their possible coverage on the work done to my car, the agent was friendly and corresponded with me regularly to keep me up to date on the claims I had, coming from a bad service job on my new car, I found Preferred Warranties to be a silver lining to work with, and that their coverage and willingness to cover matched exactly what is in their pamphlet My thanks

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: your selling a warranty on something you don't know the condition of That is a deceptive business practice How can you sell coverage on something you don't know about? You had your representative sell me worthless coverage on something that as you stated would never be covered That is consumer fraud.

Terrible companywont let me use good shops and forces me to use shops that wont fix the problem but make them worse

Dear *** ***:
Preferred Warranties was contacted by ** *** *** ***
on 10/2/@ 10:AMThey stated *** ***
had brought the vehicle into them
on 9/26/with a transmission complaintTheir diagnosis was a faulty valve
body (an internal component of the transmission) failureAfter calling *** *** our claims adjuster
authorized payment of $for the valve body replacement on 10/2/@
12:PM We then faxed an
authorization form to ** *** *** *** clearly stating the following:
*
This authorization is good for days from the approval date above
**
Repairs must correct the customer's concern in order for authorization to be
valid
*** PWI is not responsible for
sales tax
On 10/7/15, ** *** *** *** submitted their invoice for
final paymentAs agreed, Preferred
Warranties Incpaid ** *** *** *** $for the approved repairs
On 10/21/Preferred Warranties was contacted again by ** *** *** *** stating *** *** had returned the vehicle to them on
10/19/** *** *** *** indicated the transmission was still not
shifting gears properlyThey requested an
authorization for a replacement transmission; which includes another valve
body
We advised both *** *** & ** *** *** *** that we
could not pay twice for the same part and for repairs that did not fix the customers
concern. ** *** *** *** claimed that they would
not refund any of the previous monies paid as their protocol is to replace the
valve body and then determine if that corrects the issueIf this issue is not
corrected, phase two is to replace the transmissionOur
adjuster reviewed the estimates & invoices submitted by My Auto Import
Center and nowhere had ** *** *** *** disclosed that what they had
diagnosed, may not fix the problemHad they disclosed this we would have
either sent a used transmission or suggested that ** *** take the vehicle to a
certified transmission shop for proper diagnoses
While we appreciate *** ***’s situation, the Vehicle Service Contract does not provide
coverage for misdiagnosesWe are not in the position to pay for repairs that
do not fix the customers concern. Preferred Warranties has agreed to pay the
amount for a used transmission and labor, totaling $2252.50, less the $already
paid that did not correct the issue, for a remaining balance of $
Once repairs are complete, and the customer is satisfied, we
