Very pleased
I got my baby girl when she was 11 weeks old. She just turned 1 year old and I am so happy with her. She’s everything I wanted. This is my second bichon. The breeder of our first one no longer breeds due to age so I did a lot of research. First thru AKC and Bichon Society searching for breeders of merit. I narrowed it down to 4 that I felt were good and in a 4-5 hour driving radius for me. I then studied websites of each of those 4 breeders finally deciding on Prelude. I contacted Janet.after lengthy interviews, I realized how particular she is in choosing who is fortunate enough to have a Prelude puppy. I was ecstatic when she said I would go on her waiting list. I was even happier when she notified me I had a little girl. I drove there on August 29 2020 and have a most precious puppy. She’s everything I wanted
My experience with Janet has been nothing but excellent and almost a full year later, I keep in touch with her and send her pictures of my adorable girl.
I do highly recommend Prelude Bichons

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience with Prelude Bichons. I am very surprised about the other reviews because they just do not seem accurate. I know of others who have Prelude Bichons and they are very happy also with their experience.

After a couple interviews, an invitation to be a part of the Prelude Family, a 9 month wait for a puppy, multiple pictures and emails about our new furbaby’s progress, we received our very healthy puppy in August of 2015. She is now 2yrs and 8 months old and still very healthy. I only need to take her to the vet for her yearly check-ups. We have owned a Bichon before from a different breeder and that poor thing was genetically cursed. Our Prelude Bichon is not only healthy but also extremely smart, very well tempered, loveable, gorgeous face, thick coat - overall just perfect!

If you are lucky enough to be an owner of a Prelude Bichon you will be blessed for life.

Horrible experience as well with Prelude Bichons. Since I brought my $2000 dollar PURE BREED BICHON home has been nothing but problems. My Bichon had bowel problems none stop for weeks when pup. No explanation from vet? My BICHON is now 4 years old and is twice the size of a normal BICHON. Brought to vet no logical explanation. I have had 3 Bichons and this BICHON is the most aggressive and non socialized BICHON of them all. BEWARE!

Review: I purchased a Bichon puppy on January 11, 2013, [redacted] is now a year and a half. I paid $2,000.00 for him. To date he has had several congenital defects. After I paid for him that day she mentioned he had a umbilical hernia, which I had surgically corrected. In December of 2013 he became lame. On February 11, 2014 he required surgery to correct his right knee, luxating patella, which cost $4000.00 so far. [redacted] was also limping on his left leg at the time of surgery. The surgeon felt the right was worse and needed to be done right away. I was told by [redacted]'s surgeon that [redacted]'s problems with his knees are genetic. He is still recovering from surgery and at this time and is not limping but per my Vet and [redacted] later in life he will have to have the left knee corrected. This week at [redacted]'s annual medical exam a heart murmur detected. [redacted] is also huge for a Bichon, twice the size of my other Bichons, also a defect. The breeder Janet has been informed of all of these problems except the heart murmur. I broke off contact with her after informing her of the cost of surgery for his knees. She wanted me to drive a sick dog to her Vet 3 hours away for yet a 3rd opinion, I refused. [redacted] is tops in their field and I trusted both them and my Vet's diagnoses. Janet had also offered to take [redacted] back but how do you return a member of your family. Never did she offer to help with the expenses of his surgery, which she should have. I had asked her on numerous occasions how was the health of his liter mates and how big they were but she never answered me.The purpose of my complaint is to recover my initial cost for [redacted] of 2K to cover part of his medical bill and to make sure no one else goes through this after purchasing what I thought was a very well bred puppy. I will be consulting a canine cardiologist in the near future to see how I can prevent full blown heart problems in the future.Thank youDesired Settlement: A refund of my purchase price of 2K for [redacted]. I WILL not accept a replacement puppy. And I would like this information documented for the future buyers.
