Premier Auto Exchange Reviews (1)

On August 20th 2015 I purchased a motor vehicle from Premier Auto Exchange in Chicago Heights. The vehicle was supposed to be available for pick up on August 12, 2015. However, I was informed that the vehicle needed “additional body work and the paint had to dry.” At this time I received several calls from Consumer Portfolio Services (finance company). I was informed by sales rep, Melvin, that I should inform the finance company that the car was in my possession and working properly even though I did not have possession. After a week of being passed around between Melvin, Zed (owner), Gonzo and Karem (owner in transition), I was able to pick up my BMW 745 with the check engine light on as well as an alert stating my hood was open (it was not). I was told it was a cam shaft sensor of which they would assume the responsibility for repairing. Another two and a half weeks went by without communication from anyone after leaving several messages. Finally, on September 15, I was informed by Melvin to drop off my vehicle, bring in my license plates from my trade in, and they would give me my trade in as a loaner. On September 16, 2015 while driving to work on the Dan Ryan expressway the rear driver side tire blew out. I contacted Karem whom explained to me that even though the car is a loaner he could not cover the cost of the tow and whom six hours later sent a porter with a spare tire. I returned to the dealership requesting another loaner as I learned that once the bill of sale had been signed a month earlier it was illegal to drive with the plates that once were valid. Zed informed me that he did not record the title. On September 23rd @3pm I was notified by Sales Representative, Melvin that I could pick up my car. Being that is was late in the day and I was not driving the loaner due to the license plate issue, I would have to arrange for the exchange on the following service day as they would be closed when I got off of work. I was then threatened that they would not be returning my vehicle if the loaner was impounded due to them requesting I drive without plates from the North side of Chicago to Chicago Heights. On September 24, 2016 the cars were successfully exchanged. To date I am still experiencing the same issues. My check engine light came back on in less than 10 hours, my dash still states my hood is open; my radio has a short in the wiring causing the radio to power off and on every few minutes. I have continued to leave several messages and have been told that the dealership is in the process of changing owners and business names, Premier Auto exchange to Prestige. If the vehicle is not properly repaired after this next attempt I will consider this vehicle a Total Lemon and will pursue my remedies under applicable law.
