The business of Premier Collision Carstar of Tacoma, WA., agreed to a contract agreement to paint my car completely in 2018. I was given a writen estimate for $11,200. for this service and paid in cash, and was given a payment receipt signed by the manager Cesar J. The manager had discussed this agreement with the owner Matt E for his approval, as I was informed by them. This project included completely disassembling the car; windows out, bumpers, doors, hood, trunk, rear spoiler off, to create a show qaulity paint and finish, as I currently had on the car. My car has won many awards in the past 3 years, and we wanted to continue this trend.
Unfortunately, it appears that there wasn't proper paint preparation done and or missed spots, not painted. This is evident in the paint on the front spoiler, hood, roof, rear spoiler brackets and bumpers and passenger door panel edge; as they all have the new paint flaking away and or not painted or adhearing to the surfaces. I have addresses my concerns with the manager at Premier Collision, since I recieved the car back and throughout the continued paint peelings, yet they refuse to correct the mistakes. In addition, when they reinstalled the car, they over tightened the driver side rear spoiler bracket againt the freshly painted car and read decklid and it caused a 6 inch crack in the Paint. As far as I can tell, it didnt crease or bend the decklid, but I can not be sure until removal and repIres are corrected. I have before and after pictures showing there is no cracks in the decklid and on thier estimate/work order, there is no cracks nor damages identified to be repaired before the repainting of the car. The manager refuses to correct this mistake, even though they have had the car back into thier shop 3 different times for up to 2 weeks each, to address my concerns and to paint polish corrections and other details they failed to do correctly upon putting the csr back together. In addition to this, the painter missed several spots when painting. For example, on both rear fender wells of the rear bumper. These to were addressed by my family and myself, upon the cars inspection. We were informed by the manager Cesar J, that all these issues and faults would be corrected, but have not, even upon several conversations and the car coming back into the shop for corrections. The paint is chipping off on the front bumper and is actually bubbling from underneath a spot on the hood, where the paint prep. Faults are not allowing for.proper adheasion. There is a 4 inch spot on the roof where the paint is flaking off due to the lack of orep. And adheasion too. This is not what I agreed too as a finished product, but I have paid the shop in full, as an act of good faith and as they requested. I have had counless conversations by phone, in person and documented emails addressing these concerns and expectations that they need to be corrected. I'm not asking of them, anything they did not touch, but of what they did. I have been informed now by the manager Cesar J that, " they want to wash their hands of this car, and not correct any of the issues, and they do not want to honor thier warranty commitments for services rendered". I have taken my car to another paint and repair facility, that my local dealership has referred me too, and have received an estimate for repaires, and what they have deemed, as a poor paint preparation process and customer service. This estimate is actually $12,000. My car is in worse condition as it pertains to paint quality and finish, than it was prior to paying for this re paint contract agreement. I'm only requesting from them, to correct thier workmanship flaws and repaint, or paint what they missed. I obviously would not get the money back that was spent through legal means, but would hope for something, in order to help pay for the repaires and corrections, I'd have to do at another facility, based on an estimate received

This is an unfortunate circumstance we certainly don't like to hear about. As described by Mr. this was an extremely lengthy repair. Midway through the repair Mr. wanted us to use aftermarket fiberglass bumpers that do not fit his vehicle. We let him know that we were unable to make them fit on his car as they would be brittle and break or crack. He took the bumpers to someone else to have sanded and shaped to fit his car. Prior to painting them Cesar let him know that there would be possible issues with these bumpers due to the poor mold/materials that were used to make them. We are not able to warrant any paint work due to rock chips or items that customer purchases and brings into the shop as we would normally be able to get assistance from the manufacturer. There are a few items that I think Mr. has a valid complaint about. I have spoken to Mr. on the phone and let him know that I think we would be able to handle his issues. We have had a complaint or two in the past and some we have been able to handle and some unfortunately not. We have been in business for 12 years today and pride ourselves on customer service and more importantly our workmanship quality. That being said I hope that we are able to resolve these issues for Mr. and he can be happy with the work done to his vehicle.

Premier Collision

My truck was hit by another car on 4/30/2018. Safeco insurance recommended I take my vehicle, a 2017 Ford F350 pickup to Car Star Premiere Collision in Tacoma WA for repairs. The auto body shop used damaged parts in the repair and did not replace them with new parts. The vehicle was not returned to the condition it was in prior to the accident.
