Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 9, 2015/09/25) */
The issue with the company has been resolved for the most partThe owner of premier collision did fix the issues that his now former employee createdBut his former employee still has not returned the insurance checkAt this point in time I'm
not sure what else can happen with that matterBut I am happy with the professionalism of the company and the complaint can be closed at this timeI appreciate all of your help, and if you have a solution for getting that from the former employee I'm all ears

To whom it may concern,
In response to the customer complaint from 5/1/17:
I spoke with Mr. [redacted] about a few different things that
he wanted done to bring his truck back to the look of new. We talked about
painting the roof, hood, bumper cab, and some chips in the bedside. [redacted]...

also
wanted us to install some new running boards, fog lights and clean up (polish)
headlights. The truck showed up to start repairs and there were some other
areas that we brought to [redacted]’s attention we thought he may want to address
while we had the truck and had plans to be painting on the truck anyway  ([redacted] declined some of the additional
areas).
During the repairs of [redacted]’s truck there was some
conversation that we would need to remove the hood during the paint process,
after looking at the condition of the engine bay area we elected to NOT remove
the hood (it would have caused even more work that wasn’t needed).  I was under the impression that my
communication with all of my technicians was clear on all the different things
happening on this job.
I was out on a
personal appointment during the final wash and inspection of [redacted]’s truck; I
take full responsibilities for every job that my team puts out and stand behind
our work 100%, I also never claim to be perfect either. [redacted] paid his bill in
full and was so happy with his first walk around that he and his wife brought
our staff homemade cookies and Chocolate milk to show their appreciation. This
why it came as a great surprise when he called to tell me that he was unhappy
with the cleaning job under the hood. I took one my staff straight to his home
to pick the truck up and take care of the situation on the spot, I told him
that we would call him when it was done so he could pick it up, I also let him
know that I was sorry for the inconvenience it was not our normal practice to
leave car covered in sanding dust. [redacted] was called to pick the truck back up
at the close of business, when he arrived we opened the hood showed him the
difference and shook his hand, thanking him again for his business and time. He
said no problem and that he appreciated us taking care of the issue so quickly.
This is why I was completely surprised and taken back when we received a stop
payment notice that week for [redacted]’s payment. I called him to find out what was
going on with the canceled check, [redacted] proceeded to fly off the handle on the
phone telling me that we “destroyed” his truck and we were “trying to take his
money” so he canceled the check and wrote an unreasonable, embellished, and
exaggerated letter to the Revdex.com about everything that he could pick
apart on his truck (most of the issue’s were how the truck was built not the
work we were asked to complete) instead of at least calling me first to have a reasonable,
professional, adult conversation about his concerns. I immediately took one of
my service painters to his home to see what he was talking about since this was
a complete surprise to me.
We brought [redacted]’s truck back to the shop with all of our
notes on his concerns, gathered my staff and worked to correct as many of his
concerns as we could, even the ones that had nothing to do with our repair
since we were now being blamed for anything he didn’t like about his truck.
[redacted] and his wife were then called two days later to return and inspect their
truck personally with my staff and myself before we closed the matter
completely. [redacted] said he was happy with everything we had done, how we handled
it, and let us know that he may have freaked out and over exaggerated how upset
he was. A check was reissued for payment in full by [redacted].
My staff and I will always go the extra mile with
customers as a rule of thumb but we cannot work to improve or correct any
situations if we are not at least given the opportunity . I
consider this matter taken care of, closed, and corrected.
Thank you for your time,
Gary H[redacted]
