Review: I feel their policies are unjust and inhumane. I was charged $210 in NSF Fees for one online transaction. I deposited a check for $1,200 then they froze my account for a couple days and denied me access. I had no money for food or gas so I could commute to work. I have not eaten all day because they denied me access to my money. they also put my employment in jeopardy because I had no money for gas. When I explained this to them they still did not care or show me human decency. I was told to "just try and get through the next few days" I was forced to borrow money from family just so I could get to work. because my account was frozen by them I also got 5 more NSF fees! so $360 Total. One of the staff [redacted] was unhelpful, and had a judgmental tone that I did not appreciate. Met with a guy named [redacted] who seemed nice he did the whole buddy buddy thing then proceeded to pass the Blame onto the Vendor who admittedly is partially to blame as well as me for not knowing their ridiculous policy, knowing full and well their policy's are meant to take advantage of people. when I threatened to close the account he took 3 of the charges off which is better than nothing but they still took about a weeks paycheck and forced me to go without food or gas money for days which infuriated me. the way I was treated was absolutely unacceptable.Desired Settlement: NSF Fee's from the past 2 weeks

Premier Community Credit Union's vision is to be the best place to bank in San Joaquin Valley and we value the opportunity to clarify any issues our members or non-members may have with our company. I would like to address the first issue stated in the letter. As a financial institution all of our policies and procedures fall within the guidelines of the NCUA and are governed by the Federal Government. In regards to the NSF fees in question, it appears that our member provided his banking information to a third party merchant. The process of a third party merchant request for payment is currently automated and after reviewing their account history it has been an automatic payment for a while.

When an automatic request is sent to the computer system it will check the available balance and will either pay the charge or return the item to the merchant with NSF alert. Currently, the fee for that service is $30 and we discussed this information to all members in our fee schedule, also available anytime at our service centers or online. While we understand that it can be difficult to balance an account, Premier Community Credit Union provides multiple ways to check the balance on the account. These services include an automated phone system, live phone representative during business hours, free online banking, free mobile banking, and a balance inquiry at any of our ATM's.

In regards to the $1,200 check that was deposited, this was done by the member at our ATM located at 2275 W. Louise Ave, Manteca, CA 95337. Based on each account and within the guidelines of Regulation CC the ATM places a portion of the deposited funds on hold for two business days. The available balance for the member is also printed on the receipt. This policy is disclosed both in our new account agreement and posted on very ATM for the members to be aware of the holds policy. To protect the credit union and its members we hold these checks to avoid any potential fraud or less to the credit union.

It is our mission to provide members with the best possible service and address each concern or question that may arise. All front line staff is taught to provide high levels of service to each member and our service center management staff, when possible, makes themselves available to our members. As a company we try and leave each member with a positive impression at the end of each interaction. While these fees may seem high they are standard in financial services industry and typically our fees across the board are lower than larger institutions. We want to thank you for allowing Premier Community Credit Union the opportunity to respond to the issues of our members and we are here to help all our members in the future. The member is more than welcome to contact any of our service centers for additional explanation or help.

I am rejecting this response because: your response states the obvious. But does not address the living hell your wonderful policies put me through. I feel as though your business kicked me while I was down. Because of your policies I nearly lost my only source of income, and was forced to go hungry. Your company and staff could care less about my well being your only concern seems to be the bottom line. There's policy and there's human decency I did not receive the latter.
