Premier Painting of PA Reviews (1)

Review: The owner of Premier Painting, [redacted], contracted with me to remove wallpaper and paint my kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room, stairway, foyer and hallway. He stated in the contract that all furniture, etc would be covered and all drapes removed and rehung. All furniture was not covered and he did not know how to rehang the drapes in either room. He painted the doorways on all my bedrooms with the door shut and therefore they stuck when I went to open them and all wooden doors now have paint on them. My entire home is covered in white dust from sanding. He removed wallpaper with tons of water, have water leak on ceiling, took no precautions, just let the water go wherever, it came through heavily and went through basement ceiling to floor. He was so very sloppy and did not seem like he knew how to paint at all. Broke my cabinet in my kitchen and made it worse trying to fix it. Left all my rooms a mess, did not clean up. His painting was the worse I have ever seen. Missed an entire side panel in my kitchen. Someone was to come today and take care of this, but did not. Left without finishing and asked his helper to get the balance from me that I owed him. I now have to hire someone to come in and finish the job, and correct all his mistakes, clean my entire house because of the white powder that is everywhere and my carpets will need to be cleaned as he did not cover them properly and walked all over my rugs with his work boots. This white powder dust is everywhere. The outside of my home is covered with glue from wallpaper and spakling, a complete mess to say the least.Desired Settlement: His quoted price was $2950. I gave him $950 deposit and the $2000 was to be paid when the job was done. I wrote a check for $1500, withheld $500. Looking today I have found so many more flaws, very sloppy painting and paint all over the rugs. He DID NOT clean up the mess from sanding, it is all over, did no prep work,a very poor paint job, left my home in a complete mess. I would like my $2450 refunded. Thank you.

Re: Premier Painting, [redacted], Owner ID# [redacted]

I am enclosing the requested contract between myself and [redacted], owner of Premier Painting. The total amount was for $2,950.00, I've also included my cancel checks for $950,00, initial down payment and $1,500,00, my final payment, withholding $500.00 because of unfinished and sloppy work. He left his worker here to get the final check and stated to him that he hoped he got paid, I had to calf in a handyman to try to correct his mess. My drapes were not hung back correctly, was told now I need a new rod. My sink in my kitchen is so scratched, it will never look the way it did before he came into my home. Such carelessness. Paint on my carpet all the way down my hallway on the second floor. When they took the wallpaper down, water just poured through my basement ceiling on to so many things I had moved down there to get ready for the job. it is just a mess, I am using scratch cover on my furniture, he never covered it completely, it has been a nightmare.

Thank you for looking into this for me, would not want anyone to have to go through what I did.

Dear Revdex.com

This letter is in response to a complaint filed against us on Febuary 8th 2014, The assigned ID is [redacted].

[redacted] made an inquiry through my painting website on January 26th, 2014. to have wallpaper removed from her home. I met with her on January 27th 2014 to discuss and give her a free estimate, [redacted] was very quick to jump on board and get the whole process started. We were able to commence the work on January 30th 2014 with a binding contract.

All furniture was placed in the center of the room and covered with plastic sheeting. Drop cloths were placed throughout the rooms to protect her carpet floors. This is standard procedure with any job we do.

The wallpaper removal was rather easy to do but we had uncovered many blemishes that were underlying. We did correctly use a wallpaper scoring tool and water to help ease the removal. [redacted] states that there was much water that seeped into her basement. I hardly doubt a quarter cup of water is much to complain about but she did. Wallpaper was properly gathered and placed into contractor grade trash bags and put to the curb for trash pickup. After all walls were stripped of wallpaper, I walked [redacted] through each room and showed her the damage that each and every wall was subjected to over a 30 year period of being covered over with wallpaper. I told her that it was going to take an enormous amount of joint compound to make these walls look correct prior to painting, (fourteen gallons to be exact).

All walls and ceilings were spackled. Prior to sanding, we put drop cloths in front of doorway openings to keep the dust contained into the particular room we were sanding. Once a room was sanded, We aloud the dust to settle and began clean up with carefully removing the tarps and taking them outside to shake them out. All dust was then vacuumed.

Our next step was to prime and paint. This went well and the job was looking very nice.

In conclusion, [redacted] obviously did not know the intensity of the work that was involved. This created a problem as she constantly complained about everything we did according to our job duties.

I would like to call [redacted] out on her lies that she has filed with the Revdex.com. My employees and I did take our shoes off in her home. Every day we started work, we had placed a drop cloth in front of the door and removed our shoes. We properly installed her blinds and performed our necessary clean up when she told us to stop because she wanted to clean herself. [redacted] short changed me of $500.00 on the remaining balance stating that her carpets and her house needed to be cleaned. This is were the confusion sets in. She deducted money from the remaining balance to pay someone to clean but stated at the end of the job she was going to clean, [redacted] doesn’t know what she wants to do. She basically cut us off and was very unreasonable in the end. I have two full time employees that will testify to the work we did, how we handle ourselves and the irrational person that [redacted] is.

In the end, Premier Painting is a licensed and insured company in the state of Pennsylvania. We have hundreds of homes we service every year with impeccable references. We stand behind every job we perform and leave our customers with an open relationship to call us if they ever encounter a problem with our work.

Premier Painting will not issue a refund.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: [redacted]'s response couldn't be farther from the truth, I know what occurred in my home regardless of what he stated. I have had to hire a handyman to help with repairs. Also I had to buy more paint as I will have to repaint several of the walls and was surprised to find out the paint that was used was not good quality paint., what was used in my home is usually used to paint apartments. I know the Revdex.com can only do so much and I appreciate all that you have done, so going forward I will certainly make sure anyone I hire to do work in my home is a member of the Revdex.com. and I will ask for references., something that I regret not doing. I was advised to take pictures, which I did immediately, they speak volumes. Again, thank you for your help in listening to my complaint against this company.
