Statement below describes the events of Mr***’s service visit on his Mercury Marquis made by David R*** (Service Advisor).Mr*** did not bring the vehicle in for service, it was a nephew or son, but it was not himHe brought the vehicle in the evening before for the a/c work to be
performed the next dayWhen the technician went out to the vehicle to start it & bring it into the shop, the battery was deadHe jumped it & pulled it into his bay and the headlight was on & would not turn off.I called the son or nephew & asked him if he knew about this & asked if he wanted it checked outHe declined, & told me the guy down the street will look at itWe continued with the a/c repair & completed itThey came to pick it up & the battery was dead, we jumped it & MrRobert *** caused a commotion because the battery was deadI informed him his nephew or son declined the light being looked at, so he AGREED to let us check it out & repair it according to our findings.Had the nephew or son agree to getting the lighting situation diagnosed prior to performing the a/c repairs, a proper estimate for the combined totals would have presented to the customersAt that time they could have determined if the vehicle was worth repairing or notSo, the nephew or son declined the diagnostics for the headlight concern, he stated the guy down the street would handle itWhen the problem presented itself for the customer, only then was Mr*** up-set as if he knew nothing of this concernAfter I told him that his nephew or son declined us chec*** it out, he said proceed with the repairsWe repaired it according to the diagnosis and estimate amount.I invested this concern while the vehicle was in our shop and found no connection between the two repairsI believe our service writer did the proper thing by informing the owner of the vehicle about the headlight problemTherefore, I stand behind the decision and the charges that was made.Michael D*** Service Director Biondi Motor Company
