What I have to say about this complaint is that Mr [redacted] should have picked a different date to start a job instead of his busy season as he dropped the ball on the items he was supposed to purchase and would not correspond with me when neededHe also told me that he got off work by 4:30pm and had weekends offPlenty of time to purchase the items he was supposed to purchase in the first place He left his daughter in charge that didn't seem to want the job On one occasion she called her father to ask a question I had and he started yelling and cursing and I just packed up and left until he cooled off and had the answers I neededThis is the only time I pulled off the jobI did not give Mr [redacted] a dead line date when job would be finishedThis can not all be put on me when Mr [redacted] and daughter was out of town themselves for two weeks before the job was completeMr [redacted] has the receipts for bathroom faucet, vanity light, toilet, medicine cabinet, and fan/light combo I will mail the receipt's I have for the vinyl, tub,and other miscellaneous items that he was supposed to pay for to Misyrae Schaffer at Revdex.com and Mr [redacted] Originally I was supposed to remove and replace interior hollow core doors that included coats of varnishThe wood grain on the original doors was not available and wouldn't match the existing doors in that areaSo I recommended replacing all doors in that area to a paint grade door for an additional $ and Mr [redacted] agreed to that I painted these doors as a favor and was never told not to paint them white or I certainly would not have done soThe daughter requested new brushed nickle door hinges and door knobs and I did that for them at my own expense (The doors took longer then expected to get back from [redacted] Door Shop which happens during the busy season) Mr [redacted] was supposed to supply the tub he wantedHe did not and I purchased the tub that was described in the proposal I needed to get in the crawl space to adjust the tub but was told by the daughter that it was in the closet with a safe on top of itI told her that I really needed to get in it on several occasions and finally after Mr [redacted] complained about the tub and I told him I have been requesting to get in the crawl space to eliminate the squeak in the tubHe then moved the safe and I was able to complete the job done on the tubAgain Mr [redacted] was supposed to provide the toilet and I had to go get one myself and got what was specified on proposalFYI: all toilets sold in California are low flow gallon flush.The offer still stands that Mr [redacted] have someone else install the window and I will pay for it I can not send someone to Mr [redacted] 's home for an estimate when I do not know what their schedule is like, and frankly after my experience with them I would not feel comfortable to recommend anyone either The back splash is being mailed back to Mr [redacted] this week with the receipts I have for the items he was supposed to purchase.Thank you

I agree with Mr [redacted] that this project shouldn't have taken as long as it didI did not realize that the vanity and vanity top that I was going to use was going to be a special orderI thought it was going to be something in stock that I could install on the same dayThat is when Mr [redacted] 's daughter ordered the vanity and vanity top that took two weeks to arriveAlso the vanity light was a special order that took an two additional weeks to arrive and the style that she ordered would not work with the medicine cabinet door openingSo I had to order a similar light that would work with the medicine cabinetThe stain grade interior doors that I was going to replace were no longer available with that same grainThere was a total of doors in that area of hallway, hallway closets, bedrooms and bathroomSo Mr [redacted] and I agreed to upgrade all the doors in that area to paint grade doorsI spray painted all the doors prior to installation as a favor and upgraded the door hindges and door knobs to brushed nickle at no cost to themI don't remember anyone mentioning to me that they did not want white doorsIn the beginning, before work had started I mentioned to Mr [redacted] the best method of purchasing the material that they were to supply was to meet with me at the supply house and they could pick out the materials they wanted to use such as the bathtub, toilet, the tub shower valve trim, vanity light and vinyl floor covering, which he never didI mentioned that meeting me there would be the best method more than once and he never met with me thereSo I had to pick out the items that were specified in the contract for themIn the proposal I was supposed to install a standard " porcelain over steel bathtub, which I didA standard round front porcelain toilet which I didWhen I removed the doors to take to the door shop to be matched I told Mr [redacted] that they had to be matched on a machine and they would have to be there until they were finishedUnfortunately it did take longer then it should haveI explained to Mr [redacted] that there was an opening under the vanity where the pipe comes thru the wall that I could not cover the small opening because the nut for the drain on the trap would not fitI still have the vanity side wall splash and can deliver that to them at any timeJust for the record all toilets sold in California are low flow water savingIn regard to the bathroom window Mr [redacted] has had vinyl siding installed in the area where the new window is supposed to be installedWhich made it impossible for me to install and I told him at that time that he could call a glass company of his choice and I would pay the labor to install the window that I left with himI am still willing to do thisI did have a vacation planned months in advance and I thought for sure I would be done by that time, but due to the set backs I wasn'tTowards the end of completion I had a small amount of finish work and I called Mr [redacted] to get in the house to finish and he informed me that they would not be there because they were going to be out of town for weeksSo nothing was done was another weeksThe bathroom painting was done prior to installing the bath vanity and other items so there were a few nicks in the paintI offered to touch these up and Mr [redacted] 's daughter said no they were going to do thatMr [redacted] seems to think he was over paid for the job we agreed on, however the original price was $5,plus the change order to replace additional doors for $which is $6,and the toilet, tub, tub/shower valve, vanity light and ceiling light/fan combo, and vinyl that Mr [redacted] was to provide but I had to purchase $ 1,total $7,I think if Mr [redacted] would have provided the new toilet, new bathtub, new tub/shower valve, vinyl, vanity light & ceiling light/fan combo this would not have been an issue from the very beginningI don't want anyone to be dissatisfied with my work and this was a very troubling job from the start to finishI will fax the remaining receipts that I have with the copy of the original proposalPlease let me know if there is anything I can do to resolve this problem

I am rejecting this response because: The vanity we ordered was here a week before he showed up again, he was never on time except when he wanted moneyWhen he put the vanity and vanity top in he sloppily sealed puddy around drain and if you open the vanity and look inside you will see BLUE TAPE that he used to seal a hole around the drain pipe in wallFor the drain pipe in bathroom vanity, if he know it wasn’t the right drain set up why didn’t he improvise, or call a plumber in.The bathtub that he put in is not the size I wanted and when he did put the tub in the drain fell off and the first time used and it squeaked and moved then when he tried to fix it the first time it still persistently squeaks and moves water faucet, spicket, and drain do not line up.Also about the doors both my daughter and I both told him no white doors I am a truck driver/mechanic I did not want white doors I have oil and dirt on my hands when coming home which does not come off white that well and is easily seen.And when we started this job, I told him I was in planting season, and hauling rice to mills and would have no time to go to purchase stuff NEEDED, he knew I did not have the time to go to the store so I had to so the shopping online.I found the the bathroom light at home depot on shelf for half the price he purchased(This can be easily argued that the price dropped after him buying the thing).My comment to window is, it was in his contract, he should find a window person and have it installed, this is not my job.On vinyl siding with window in bathroom has a cotractor shouldn’t he look things over before saying he can do it not I don’t think I can do this, and walk awayThe number of times he did this walking away was unexceptableWhy did the contracter not order the window first which taking two week the first time anyway and put the window in before the tile was installed or wait for all items to come in before taking the bathroom apart in the first place.His texture drywall was bad does not even match just threw puddy over and painted plus there are dryrolls in paint every where and paint splatter everwhere no clean up.About the doors how would he feel if he had to go with out a bathroom door and bedroom doors for three weeks with no privacy, because he took them and went on vacation, or whateverThen there the fact he left woodscrews and hinges all over my carpets to step on they were all over the place that we could have easily stepped on or have a child/animal swallow them, he never cleaned up after himselfAt the time of the finishing work we were so mad, we just wanted him out.I will send pictures of all damages, or so called repairs, if neededIf he thought the job I quote (this was a very troubling job from the start to finish) then he must of thought he was not capable and should not have started it in the first place and I would have found a more suitable contracter for the job.Thank you, sincerely *** ***

I am rejecting this response because: What I have to say about MrT***s comments are this, if he would have started the job on time it would have helped, and this was my planting season my hours varied between 5:A.Mto 8:P.M. I never said I would be home by 4:30.My comment on yelling and the cursing, I was so irritated with his unprofessionalism at doing things I wanted him out and it was interfering with my job at that time this was not the only time he pulled out of the job.1# He came into my house to take doors out, he did not have proper tools to remove hinges and door attachments and started hammering on door casings and doors to remove screws couldn't get them out and leftLeft screws and hinges every where unfinished (very dangerous for kids and animals) (1)Knocked stuff off walls (2)Cracked door casings(3)Listening to music on iphone while banging on walls (4)Had to hurry to going to vacation.2# Bathroom window never finished he bought a white framed window and when every thing outside my house is black framed he got mad and left.3# Came back several weeks later and wanted to install the new window he purchased and got irritated when he could not installThe window should have been put in from the inside firsr before the tile guy came inBut after he couldn't install hours of not know what to do outside, he told me he could not do the job because the sideing on my house was in the way and he didn't know what to do so he told me to call a window person.So I called Jackson Glass Oroville CAThey came in and put the new window in it took them minand cost $150.00My daughter was there the whole time assisting him with whatever she couldThis comment is a pretty bad lie and kind of upset me.About deadline and out of town for weeksi gave MrT*** a deadline date by the first week of June which is my summer vacation which he failed to abide byThats why we were out of town for weeksHe was never on time, maybe if he would have showed up day on time he could have finished on time, I'm wrong he did show up days on time to get paidMy daughter sometimes waited to hours for him to show up, because he was busy elsewhere, sometimes never showed up, called the next day, said sorry I was busy lots of times we had to call him and find out what was going on.My comment according to MrT***, everything was payed for the contract negotiationdoors and attachment I Payed Extra As AgreedThe paint on doors, I told him no white and thats what he painted them white (Because I'm a mechanic, farmer laborer that work on truck's grease and dirt.Before ripping all my doors off dont you think it would of been little smarter to check and see how long it was going to be, before taking them away for weeks no bedroom, doors no bathroom, no privacyHe should have more professionalism then that.The bathtub he purchased was smaller than the one originally in my house, and if you look at pictures you can see tub doesnt line up with spicket, faucet, and drain at least 1"inch offShould be in line, not installed correctly the tub squeaks and moves and the grout is falling out again from movements of the tub.To MrT***s comment about my daughter not moving stuff to get in crawl space it was moved out of the way for a week before he showed up againThen he got the tub, which still moves, and squeaks he did not install correctly job not complete.The back splash MrT*** had for months was mailed back incomplete, he measured it and was suppose to have trimmed because on my vanity, he installed it wrong by glueing the back part of the back splash to wall,cant install the rest, without being trimed again his jobThe toilet I asked for yes I didn't have time to get after working to hours days my faultBut what I asked for was a taller toiletBathroom sink cover plate was not put back on wall, blue tape around hole in wall not completed and it looks completely tacky and unprofessional with the blue tape around the hole in the wall.Drywall, I asked him to fill in holes from nails and such before painting and it looks worse then it was before he didnt even try to blend in with the texture of the wall.Drywall, I asked him to fill in holes from nails and such before painting and it looks worse then it was before he didn't even try to blend in with the texture off the wall.I think thats about it ***, Thank you for yout help in corresponding with MrT*** on this matter

Mr [redacted] seems to think he was over paid for the job we agreed on, however the original price was $5,806.98 plus the change order to replace 4 additional doors for $325.00 which is $6,131.98 and the toilet, tub, tub/shower valve, vanity light and ceiling light/fan combo, and vinyl that Mr. [redacted] was to provide but I had to purchase $ 1,112.20 total $7,244.18 I think if Mr [redacted] would have provided the new toilet, new bathtub, new tub/shower valve, vinyl, vanity light & ceiling light/fan combo this would not have been an issue from the very beginning. I don't want anyone to be dissatisfied with my work and this was a very troubling job from the start to finish. I will fax the remaining receipts that I have with the copy of the original proposal. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to resolve this problem.
