I was contacted by the owner of this property (*** ***) to give a bid on the installation of a holding tankThe Douglas County Planning and
Zoning Department had condemned his system and gave him a deadline of October 30, 2013(see attached) to have the holding tank installedBecause a holding tank requires that all water in used in the house is hauled away by a septic pumper Mr*** expressed to me that he would like the tank installed as close as possible to the deadline to save on pumping charges for as long as possible.I have also attached a signed acceptance of proposal dated August 08, At the time the proposal was signed Mr*** yard was too wet to get the septic tank crane truck inThe combined weight of the truck and gallon tank is approximately 68,poundsThe ground needs to be dry and solid to bring the tank inThe sanitary permit (see attached) was issued September 5, At that time the yard was still too wet and continued to be too wet for the remainder of the fallPlease see the hand writing on the Douglas County Zoning Office letter dated 6-6-It a notation by the Douglas County Zoning inspector Keith Wiley, dated 10-22-13, granting an extension of the installation deadline because the yard was too wetI informed Mr*** that I would have to wait until the ground froze to get the tank inI then purchased insulating blankets to place in the tank location to prevent the ground from freezing so we could excavateI also paid to have a path plowed through the snow in Mr*** yard, first so the ground would freeze, and again so the tank truck could get inThat was all done over-and-above the proposed bid and was done free of chargeWhen the installation was complete I informed Mr*** that there would be settling and that I had left extra dirt behind so he could fill in wherever it settledNot only did I provide extras free of charge, I had the foresight to leave extra dirt on a pile there to fill in where it settled so Mr*** wouldn't have to pay to have some hauled in*** claims I said it's their faultI said it was too wetThat's Mother NatureShe doesn't always cooperateIt isn't their fault and it certainly isn't mine, yet I'm the one who took the financial beating on it, all in the name of good customer service and sticking to the proposed price I gave them.
I did not proposed to come back to fill in where it settled(see attached bid)The area excavated may continue to settle for a couple more yearsHad that been included in the bid, it would have been considerably more expensiveWhen *** called and told me about the terrible holes in her yard I went out there expecting to see a messThere is a depression from settling in the area excavated which is very typical of an area excavated in clayThere are no "holes"There is dirt left there to fill in where it settledThey can hire someone to do it, or use a wheel barrow and a shovel, like most of my clients do, to fill in where it settledI pride myself in customer satisfaction and do the best work out there for a fair price. Approximately 80% of the work I do is a result of referrals from happy customersBecause of the difficult conditions on this site I have spent a considerable amount of extra time and money that Mr. *** and his fiancé *** seem very ungrateful for; I will not be returning to this site to do any more free work
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
The reasons I have for rejecting this compliant is that there was no dirt left for me to move. There was a mound of clay that [redacted] himself told me was practically impossible to move with a shovel alone. I was also told that I needed a mound of clay left around my tank so I'm unsure as to what dirt he is talking about. I have attached images of the holes in my yard. They are 13 ft across by 2 feet deep, 12 1/2 by 11 1/2 ft across and 1 1/2 ft deep and 12 ft across by 1 1/2 ft deep. I'm amazed that these are not considered holes by [redacted]. He also failed the mention that in order to thaw our ground he used our electricity to thaw the ground for a few days. That is something I let slide and I now wish I hadn't. Had he put in his bid the price for back fill we would have gotten our loan for that amount. To act as though it was okay to not properly inform us of the necessities after the fact is not acceptable.  All I have asked for is these holes to be filled in. Nothing more.
Regards,
[redacted]
