Keith W [redacted] and Jim V [redacted] believe we have done everything we are going to do for this customer

We repaired his vehicle under a goodwill claim even though his car was out of warranty The repair did take longer than originally anticipated and Subaru provided a rental vehicle to him free of charge When the vehicle was picked up, our service advisor Adam advised him about the fuel tank seeping We feel everything was done to keep the customer happy and the customer seemed fine while picking the vehicle up

New Motors will not act any further on this issue

I called and left [redacted] a message this morning. In the message I let him know that the treatments for the windshield and the interior will still be done, we just need to schedule an appointment for those to be done. The package he received in the mail was an additional part of the package... he purchased, not in place of the actual treatments. I was unaware that the car was missing the second key and the salesperson never let me know so we will also give him the second key which he is owed. We will need to wait until he visits the dealership to order a key since the owner is the only one who can order a key. I have not heard back from him yet so we will make a second attempt to reach him.

We sold the vehicle and have gone above and beyond helping them with the overall cost to fix and also providing them with a loaner vehicle to use. Total cost of service work done exceeded $6600, of which the customer only paid $2000. We took care of the remaining balances. We
have attached repair orders for all items

etter Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference,
details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I am deeply saddened to read that even after learning that the damage cost is $212, that New Motors is still refusing to correct a problem that they createdI am hopeful that they do not believe that I am trying to scam them into correcting paint imperfections on my carI can assure you that this is not the case. I have offered the most inexpensive solutions possible to correct the issueI have not asked to have them reapply the ceramic coating that I had applied to the carI am not asking them to repaint the car because the clear coat will never be the same as before I took it thereI am simply asking for them to allow a trained professional the opportunity to correct a problem they have createdI have reviewed additional Revdex.com claims filed against new motors, and unfortunately there is a very similar complaint filed in which a BMW zwas damaged by your service center. You provided an inappropriate solution as "good will", but it appears that you never truly corrected the damage that you caused on their vehicle either, and also began claiming that you never damaged it in the first place.New motors offered to correct the damage on my car by having their "internal detailer" polish the carI agreed as this seemed like a reasonable first step and would be the least expensive for the dealer (absorbed by dealership overhead)Upon learning that there were still scratches, Paul H*** offered to bring the car back in to the dealership at my next earliest convenience to try againThis appears to be more than good will as they are now claimingOne does not have two service reps state that they believe the scratches occurred in house, polish the vehicle, and then offer to repolish the vehicle again after the first didnt work, if you do not believe that you caused the damageThe detailer at new motors did not fully polish out any of the scratches caused by an improper hand wash(he did lighten a couple of them), and actually left swirl marks from the polisher.I have attached the quote from Bonnel's which documents the damage and the cost required to correct said damage.I want you to understand that this is not about the moneyI purchased a $40,vehicle from VW, and can afford to correct the paint for $(and so can the dealership)However, that does not mean that I will back down from this claimYou have taken a $tire plug, and performed an unauthorized service on my car (hand wash) that caused an additional $in damageThe dealership should be rushing to correct this for such a small dollar amount relative to the revenue associated with return customers, proper ciustomer networking, and out of warranty service work. I have reached out to additional VW leadership that I am very close to (Owner of Three Rivers VW where I purchased the car), and they cannot believe the lack of customer service you are providingCorporate VWoA cannot believe the lack of service, but because of the company structure you are able to continuously act in a self serving (rather than customer serving) manner at no risk unto yourself and at a complete loss to the consumer

Our service department has been in contact with *** throughout the process. *** was aware that there would be a substantial cost to him to repair the transmission. Adam, our service writer, made it clear to him over a recorded phone call what we were going to do and the
customer agreed to this

I spoke with our service department and we will repair the vehicle at no cost to the customer. Kevin Y*** is going to call the customer to set up the appointment. We will also provide a vehicle for the customer to drive at no charge

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I request that New Motors, both Jim V*** and Keith W*** provide the detailed substantiation for the claim that they are not responsible for the scratchesI have provided my evidence, which contains two verbal acknowledgements from New Motors employees, as well as one action taken, and another action in which a repeat of the first action was offeredThus far, each of them have made very simple, unsubstantiated claims.I have a recorded voicemail from Jim V*** stating that he is not fully involved in the day to day happenings in the service center and that all of his information is second hand, and without the full detail based on a brief discussion with Paul H***.If Volkswagen truly does record all calls for quality assurance, then another call in which Paul H*** verbally acknowledges the scratches will be recorded by Volkswagen. There is an inherent lack of consumer protection in cases such as theseNeither party took images of every square inch of the car's surface prior to servicing making the entire case subjectiveIt is the consumer's word against that of the service providerIn an extreme, hypothetical case, New Motor's could have just as easily driven the car into a pole, and then stated that they are not responsible as it was there when they got itI would have no definitive, date marked evidence stating otherwise, and just as in this case (although much more extreme) they could deny accountability leaving the consumer responsible. It is in New Motor's best, short-term financial interest to deny any and all claims such as theseHowever, it comes at the expense of the consumer, which in many cases, including this one, was not responsible for the damagesit is an unjust and unethical business practice

I spoke with our service manager and the initial issue we sent the vehicle out for was fixed by *** ***. Any additional issues that are now happening were not caused by anything New Motors did. If there are any additional issues that are occurring from the vehicle being worked on
they are a result of the work done by *** ***
