I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Regards,*** *** The facts stated by the merchant are incorrect. I do have a claim check. The number on it is ***. When I asked the merchant when he called and what number he called to tell me that the machine would be disposed of he could not tell me what phone number he called or when he called. I never received any calls from his phone after our two previous conversations. I was never notified in writing or by phone that the machine would be disposed ofI believe I cannot trust this merchant to provide me a working machine and I want reimbursement for my loss

The sewing machine was brought into our store well over a year ago we did the estimate on the machine and explain to her that it was going to need several hundred dollars in parts service and repair. She gave us the approval that day. I replace the main board with a new one and that part failed...

because there was another issue with the machine and I explain this to her and it would take me approximately two weeks to find the right parts for her machine and I would call her with a revised repair estimate for everything the machine needed. The final repair would have been roughly 680 plus tax. I left at least three messages for her with no response at all. When she finally did call 12+ months later I told her we disposed of her machine. At that time I suggested to her that I could sell her another machine same model and make for roughly the amount of what her repair would have been. She told me that she wanted to think about it and I waited for her call another 3 to 4 weeks. When she finally did call back she informed me that she wanted a perfectly working machine for nothing. I told her that was totally unreasonable and all that she wanted was something for nothing.
I have tried to work with her and what I proposed was I think more than fair…that offer is now off the table.
All of our repair tags are a three-part tag first part repair tag second part invoice third part is a claim check. Every customer gets a claim check.
On the claim check it states a 7 digit number and no merchandise delivered without this claim check.
Not responsible for lost by fire or theft merchandise
Merchandise not called for within 30 days [redacted] be sold for charges.
I asked if she had her claim check and she said she couldn't find it but she was given one.
This system has worked very well for us for over 50 years.
