This is a letter written in response to a claim filed against our business on 6/23/The ID assigned to this claim is: ***The claim that was filed to the Revdex.com was accurate in the event that occurred but not completely regarding the details
These are the facts of the situation:The customer brought in a leather jacket to be cleaned by our business and we sent the jacket out to a third-party leather cleanerThe leather cleaning business handled the leather jacket according to the directions on the cleaning tagThe customer came to pickup the jacket and notified us that the jacket did not fit properly and we informed him that we do not clean it ourselves in-storeHe understood and proceeded to ask for the contact information for the leather cleaning company, telling us that he was aware that it was not our misdoing and that he would contact the leather company himselfWe provided him with all of the information he needed to contact the third-party company and he left without asking us to take any responsibility for the shrinkageWeeks went by and we were never once contacted by this customer about the situation againAfter a few months went by without any contact from him, the customer came into the store with a letter demanding a payment of $1,within four daysThe letter stated that if this payment was not made in four days, he would file claims to a list of different online sites, government officials, and courts(A copy of this letter is enclosed for your reference.)We then contacted the leather company ourselves to find that they had already attempted to resolve the situation for our customerWhen they received the complaint from our customer, they had the jacket sent out to an accredited garment analyzing center to have the cause of the damage analyzedThe results came back stating that: the shrinkage occurred due to a manufacturing fault, not the leather cleaners or our dry cleanersThe leather company cleaned the jacket according to the directions on the jacket and the jacket shrunk due to a mistake in the manufacturing processThe company then attempted to contact the manufacturer to have the jacket reimbursed for the customer but received no responseThe customer came back to our cleaners five days after he came in with the letter demanding a payment of $1,Since the shrinkage of the jacket was not due to our cleaners or the third-party leather company, we informed the customer that we will not reimburse the customer out-of-pocket but that we would go through the manufacturer and our insurance instead to do soWe informed him that we filed a claim with our insurance but that it would take a week or so to receive a reimbursement paymentWe attempted to contact the manufacturer for him as wellThe customer was then very upset and flashed a DC government official badge at us stating that he would be suing us for immediate payment and that he did not want any further contact form us unless it was to pay him the amount he requestedA file has been claimed with our insurance, which is in the midst of arranging a reimbursement payment for the customer for his leather jacketWithin a week, we will have a payment for the customer but he has already filed complaints against our business on many different review websites and the Revdex.com, falsely claiming that we are refusing to resolve this situationWe have made many attempts to resolve the situation for our customer but he simply wants us to pay him out-of-pocket for the leather jacket now, which we will not do because that is what our insurance is forAgain, we are in the process of resolving the situationWe believe that the claims made against our business on multiple websites were and damaging to our reputationEnclosed are copies of the letter from our customer, the leather cleaning company and the national garment analysis centerWe will keep you updated on the status of our insurance claimPlease, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions at: ###-###-####Thank you for your time and consideration in this claimSincerely,
