Review: I left my [redacted] 5HP long shaft outboard motor and all accessories at Presque Isle Sports on consignment with Mr. [redacted], with the understanding that I would receive payment when the motor was sold, less consignment fee. [redacted] has sold the motor and I have not received payment as promised. When Mr. [redacted] wrote the consignment ticket, he indicated that he would attempt to sell the motor for $375.00. In August of 2011, I inquired in person with [redacted] if they might order a special battery for my electric motor and credit part of the battery cost with the proceeds from the sale of my motor. Mr. [redacted] advised me that my motor had been sold, but he would have to locate the documentation for the sale and would research the battery purchase. Between August, 2011 and August, 2012, I inquired with Mr. [redacted] about the battery order and/or payment with no success. I spoke with John on August 27, 2012 and he indicated that ordering the special battery was not feasible. Instead, he felt that it would be better just to pay me for the motor, promising to locate the documentation and issue a check. I believed this response of "good faith". After returning from the winter months in California, I wrote to Mr. [redacted] on July 11, 2013, requesting the payment promised for my motor. He has not responded. I have been a customer at Presque Isle Sports several times, purchasing a boat, marine and boating accessories, maintenance service and (3) outboard motors. Presque Isle Sports also sold an 8HP [redacted] for me on consignment, for which I received payment. Based on my satisfaction as a prior customer, I am very confused as to why I must now file a complaint with the Revdex.com because I am dissatisfied customer. In fact, I steered a potential $$$$ customer away from Presque Isle Sports because of my present dissatisfaction, and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved.Desired Settlement: I asked Presque Isle Sports to sell my [redacted] outboard in exchange for a consignment commission. Presque Isle Sports and [redacted], owner, is obligated to account for the motor that was my property and forward payment after deducting the consignment fee. I expect an accounting for the sale of the motor and payment, less deduction for the consignment commission. Reasonable time has passed.

It is with much embarrassment and regret that we received your letter today regarding a customer’s complaint (ID #[redacted]). There is no reason to offer anything other than, a sincere apology to our customer for our forgetfulness. We have outstanding customers and in a situation such as this, there isn‘t any explanation or excuse valid enough to justify our misstep.

We have immediately sent a check to this individual for the sale of his motor which was sold for $375.00. We have also eliminated our consignment fee that would have been deducted for the sale of the motor. It is our hope that we have respectfully honored this customer’s request in a timely manner.
