The owner, Jonas S***, per his proposal states "he would love the opportunity to earn my business"; however I have found that in earning my business it is on his terms In the original proposal, he offered what I asked him to quote and the price for each treatmentHe offered Summer Lawn Application, Fall Lawn Application and weed control only, all offered at separate prices knowing that I would choose as needed In the Spring I did my own application with quality product from *** *** after doing a double aeration What I have learned from my 5-year old 100% seeded Kentucky Bluegrass lawn is that it only needs feedings per season, Spring, Summer and Winter Most lawn service companies want to do 5-applications per year when fertilizing What I have found is that I am cutting the grass 2x per week if there is rainfallJonas knew all this per our conversation in that I wanted to choose what service I needed, therefore quoting it accordingly never leading me to believe he would not guarantee his work if I did not choose a complete package He also already knew I had already done the 1st application myself There is nothing on his quote that states there is a guarantee if you choose the complete package either His quote had recommendations in ensuring that my lawn would thrive, one of those recommendations was WEED CONTROL ONLY If you are not going to guarantee that option then why would you quote it? When I see weed control only that tells me I have the option to use that service as a stand alone because that is how it is stated If it is part of a package, the WEED CONTROL ONLY is not part of that package I hired him to do a weed application, blanket spray applied on 4/22/ It was not that effective so I spot-sprayed myself, not calling him for a re-spray I was scheduled to have fertilizer and weed spot spray on 7/15/he cancelled telling me he did not have enough manpower and re-scheduled 7/18/ A couple weeks later I noticed weeds everywhere I called him on 8/12/explaining there were patches of weeds everywhere He said there was no guarantee since I did not purchase the whole package, eventually hanging up on me as I tried to discuss my needs vswhat had been done and why there was no guarantee after only 1/weeks after getting treated I called back and left a message that it was unprofessional hanging up on me He called back telling me he did not appreciate my tone of voice I was standing out in an open acre of lawn with the wind blowing and a tractor near-by, I was only speaking loudly, not yelling So I claimed "weeks later, you do not guarantee weed control?", and he stuck to the fact that he does not guarantee unless you purchase the whole package Then he claimed I knew nothing about lawn care and the fact he has been doing this years Sorry, just because you have a chemist license to apply product does not mean you are honest or have good business ethics about what you are doing My friend and I planted this lawn with the best quality CISCO seed available During the housing boom of the 90's we planted lawns for 100's of homes for home builders after we completed the finish grade I am an engineer and have a complete understanding of chemistry I feel as though Jonas has a lot to learn about professionalism and the way he conducts business It would not have hurt him to just come back out, re-service my lawn, then tell me at that time he does not guarantee itInstead he argued with me over the phone to the point that I would not want him to continue to take care of my lawn or recommend him to someone else
