Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/05/08) */
This project has been delayed by the Allen County Building department because the Customer hired a Company out of Angola to do an extensive amount of work where no permit was ever requested or approvedIn our attempts to pull the required
permits for our contracted work, the building department saw the amount of work that had already been completed and issued a Stop Work OrderAt that time, the Allen County Building Department thought Performance Remodeling performed such work, when we did notThis has become an issue for us proving we were not the contractors who completed the work and are not liable for the possible finesWe have been doing what is necessary to clear up this situation when the previous work is not oursMr*** has not been denied any information, and for some reason feels it is our fault for the Stop Work Order when he hired an outfit who did not follow the correct steps necessary for the work they have completedAs soon as this situation gets cleared up with the building department, and our permits are approved and issued, we will be able to begin the work we have been hired to do, but we can not do a thing until we get the okay from the building departmentThe customer has been told multiple times that Performance Remodeling, cannot control the Allen County Building Departments time line and procedures, nor can this project be successful without following their way of doing things
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/05/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Im asking for:
Contact information of who in the Allen County building department Performance Remodeling is working with to remove the Stop Work order
Contact information of cabinet makers to ensure the appropriate completion and delivery of the cabinets
Communication / contact information with owner of Performance Remodeling
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 49, 2017/06/30) */
To be clear, I have never stated that I would like to cancel my entire orderLike most of Mr***'s statements, he provides no quote, citation or supporting evidenceJust days ago Mr*** emailed me asking "So you would like to cancel your order entirely?" I did not reply yesHe followed with "So you do want to cancel your project?" And again I did not say yesHe then followed with the following "To cancel your project at this stage, you will have to send a signed letter to our office stating thisThe address is as followed:"I have no intention of sending a signed letterI posted this exchange to the Revdex.com complaint siteHow did we go from me having to send a letter to him to "We will send Mr*** a formal letter releasing his obligation to the remaining balance for his records if we are not notified otherwise this week"? This would simply be pathetic if it wasn't for Mr***'s attempt to keep my deposit while not doing the workI try to present different solutions and this is his response? This is blatant disrespect for the Revdex.com resolution processIt is more clear than ever that arbitration is necessary
While I have been trying to come up with solutions we could all agree to, what has Mr*** been attempting to do with his line of questioning? How many times has he asked to close this complaint? How many times has he avoided acknowledging whether the cabinets are completed or not? How many times has he disrespected this process by calling mediation a waste of time, or just not responding at allI believe this latest ploy by Mr*** has revealed what his true intentions were all along
Final Business Response /* (4000, 51, 2017/06/30) */
In the last set of emails we received from Mr***, he was giving the impression he wished to cancel his order, but did not say specifically the entire order, just the first partWhen asked specifically he would not give a straight answerWe received a call from *** with the Revdex.com on Wednesday June 28th 2017, and she stated that this cannot go to arbitration since Mr*** would like to cancel his entire orderWe responded accordingly
Our true intentions were to give Mr*** an amazing kitchen, but due to his previous contractor, we were unable to continue work as previously scheduledMr*** began to blame Performance Remodeling for problems caused by his previous contractor
When we were notified that the scenario has been cleared up and our permits are now able to be approved, we proceeded to schedule Mr***Unfortunately Mr*** was unhappy with our current lead times and schedule
We have emails stating intention to cancel as well as having the Revdex.com inform us that Mr*** wishes to cancel
Now he responds he does notWe are just going in circles
The following are the available options:
Option We will allow Mr*** out of his contract for the stated fee
Option We will continue as planned, but will require payment upfront to ensure Performance Remodeling does in fact receive full payment for the contracted project

My immediate needs was for a Walk In Tub. Contacting Performance Remodeling after receiving there business card, it was basically a One Stop Shop.

They dispatched a sales rep/design consultant to my home, and walked through the entire process start to finish. Measurements were taken, various option's of the product were discussed, and even help with financing were taken in assure an easy transition.

VA paperwork was followed up with by the company to leave no stone unturned.

When the installers came to my home, they were very polite, and informed us which stage they were in. The drywall, and finishers were the same.

One Hint: Listen to each part carefully as there are a lot of details to be adhered to as the buyer.

Performance Remodeling Inc. Ft. Wayne, IN, and its rep Erik Dusseau is on top of things. From the Office people, to the final product, everything is right with the World.

Thanks Gang

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/05/23) */
This customer purchased a tile shower with an elliptical pattern. We did in fact install a couple of the patterned tiles incorrectly. When we ordered additional tile they were on back order since these were a special order tile given it's unique...

pattern.
When the new tile came in, we corrected the situation. Any tile not made in the same batch can have minor shade variances which is common and acceptable. When inspecting his shower on completion, in order to show us the shade variance, Mr. [redacted] had to show us through the camera on his phone since it is not visible to the naked eye. This is not enough of a difference to require everything being redone. It is the exact same tile as stated on the agreement.
In regards to the floor, the tile he picked out has a known problem called "cupping" that is outside of our control. We encouraged him to reach out to the manufacturer in regards to a warranty issue or possible defects of the material since this problem is not due to Performance Remodeling.
Mr. [redacted] also had other complaints with material he purchased and felt entitled we do to something about it without compensation. When the customer did not follow the agreed payment terms, we were forced to seek legal council. The result was an agreed upon "walk away."
In fact, this complaint may be a violation of the "walk away," which we will soon find out.
Therefore there will be no refund as none is due. We fixed the primary issue that we were liable for, but are not fixing the problems that are not a direct result of our workmanship.
Performance Remodeling will uphold our "walk away" and move on from this customer.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/05/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I knew nothing of a "walk away" agreement. The shower tile color is noticeable to the naked eye. Performance knew that there would be a color differences from one batch of tile to another. I understand this completely. What I don't understand is Performances blatant disregard for how our shower would look with two colors of tile and why they didn't replace all the wall tiles. Also how can Performance justify 1" grout lines. This is a fact that Performance keeps glazing over and will not answer. As far as the floor tile goes, I placed a level on it in numerous spots at different angles and found NO "cupping" going on. And if this tile has this issue why did Performance not inform us of this before they purchased the tile. Also if the tile is defective we DID NOT purchase the tile. Performance bought and installed ALL the tile. If there is any defect in the material or installation that is Performances responsibility to fix not ours to contact the manufacturer.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/04/06) */
In regards to this Complaint, there are many aspects that are false. When it comes to the Finance Company, Mrs. [redacted] asked us to pull off while they do additional work not part of their order. This is something we prefer not to do since it...

messes up our schedule, but we agreed to pull off. The additional work took longer than expected which caused their financing to come close to expiring, when told we needed to get this done, Mrs. [redacted] decided to authorize their financing since all the material was in their possession.
The original agreement stated that after the completion of the Kitchen, we recommended they wait and use their kitchen before deciding what size of Island would be best, but that it was something we would throw in as a gift for ordering when they did.
When completed, Mrs. [redacted] was unhappy with the standard amount of shelves that come with the cabinets, and we knew we would be back in 6-8 weeks for the island, so we agreed to throw them in and bring them with the island, as well as the 2 missing accessories. Mrs. [redacted] agreed and that would be okay. Unfortunately our outfits have a current lead time of 12 weeks which we have absolutely no control of. We apologized for the delay and told them we would come out in the next few weeks for the 2 missing accessories as well as the additional shelves that were thrown in.
This complaint was filed shortly after, and well before we have had a chance to drop off the products stated.
In regards to the other cabinets that they are unhappy about, all we can do is sell them something else. All the cabinets were decided individually with the customer and our construction coordinator and signed off on. We do not like to hear that Customers are unhappy with what they chose, but we also do not feel that it is our responsibility or contractual obligation to replace cabinets when the size and configuration is exactly what the customer wanted from the initial order.
In conclusion, Mrs. [redacted] communication issues may be due to the fact she has never once called the office. All of the contact she has had has been through personal cellphones. We recommend Customers to call the office with any questions or concerns instead of call or text someones personal number.
Performance Remodeling will drop off the missing shelves and accessories while we wait for the production and delivery of their island.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/04/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The "standard" amount of cabinets you speak of is definitely more than ZERO. 5 of my 13 cabinets that should have shelves have ZERO shelves. On 3/13 you told me that it would be 6 weeks and now you are stating to the Revdex.com that it is 12 weeks. On 3/13 you also stated that you would have [redacted] out in the next week or 2 and that never happened. In the YEAR that we have been talking you have provided me with your cell phone and never requested communicating in any other manner. You actually initiated conversation with me via your personal cell phone on 5/21/16. Your company needs to INSTALL not drop off the remaining accessories, provide shelving for the remaining 5 cabinets, replace the cabinet that will not open because of the dishwasher since I provided you with measurements and not in the "cut and paste" method that you did on my other cabinet (photos provided), provide the island on wheels and install the side panel that was left off by [redacted] that he stated he would install when he returned. I also want the vent covers brought back that I bought.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2017/05/08) */
As soon as the Island is finished, we will bring and install the Island, as well as the shelves we went ahead and ordered for you. As well as the 2 accessories.
Again, as far as the cabinets that you are unhappy about, we can not replace those without an additional fee. Every cabinet size and configuration you ordered was to your exact specifications.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 21, 2017/05/22) */
A resolution has not been made. I cannot open one of the drawers because of the dishwasher. I had this problem with my old cabinets that were removed and when [redacted] was going over the new cabinets he assured me I would no longer have this problem. I provided him with the measurements to all my appliances via email. The cabinet needs to be replaced so it can function as it should

Terrible experience with this company. Nothing was true from the Salesman, the materials ordered to the inexperience crew that was sent to the time frame. We just wanted a handicap shower to replace a garden tub and a linen closet to replace the small shower stall. New handicap toilet and tile to be replaced. Was told 6 to 8 wks. to get to us. We put down $2500. on July 15th. They started last Wed. in Sept. Was to be 3 to 4 man crew to take 3 to 5 days. Got the last repair done Nov. 3rd and it was done wrong Not a straight line was cut. New studs and wall off 3/4 inch. Linen door not only cut off but hung crooked. Shelves cut crooked and rough. Needs to be repainted. Plumbing under house having to be done 3 times due to leaks. Not leaking but not put back the way it should. Never consulted on the flooring. Tiles put down incorrectly and not followed instructions on the box they came.in. Not consulted on shower door and got doors where only one slides. I didn't even know that was possible. Shower frame having to be taken out and redone for being cut crooked. They should change name from Performance Remodeling to Amateur Remodeling They did take some cost off of the original contract but we were advised not to pay anything at all. Was even told by salesman no payment till we were satisfied but was hit for a second payment called demolition payment of over $2900.00 day after they started.
