Purchased a car but the verbal agreement was far from being what the written one is. Shady sales people and owner. On May 28,2015 I purchased a used car. It had a bit of cosmetic damage that would need to be repaired, missing the spare key, along with some other issues. We discussed all of this and came to an agreement of $9950 that would include the title, registration and sales tax. However after waiting nearly three weeks to receive the title it wasn't even in my name but the previous owner's. I called the dealership back and asked if it should have been in my name and [redacted] said that it should and that DMV should issue it free when I show them my paper work. Far from the truth. I walk into DMV and explain everything and show everything. I end up paying a total of $492.44. There was a tax for the processing fee $8.06, a fee to receive the title $10, sales &use tax $394.88 and the registration fee of $79.50. Yet on the paper work they have you sign they mention none of this at all yet when you are talking to them they tell you its all taken care of. I called the dealership back after leaving DMV and they deny making that deal and implied I was lying and then preceded to blame DMV and [redacted] for their tax laws. I disagree if I even call you regarding the title and you even state that it should have my name on it and the correction should be free and then its not. This is a bad sales practice. Don't say one thing and keep doing another and making excuses for it and offer no remorse or compensation to fix your bad practices. I was even fine as long as they paid the title and registrations fee but they were more seeming to be amused by my frustration than anything else. On the last call to his business we informed [redacted] that he was being recorded this time which he agreed to and he tried to explain but then he put the owner on the phone [redacted] on the phone who just wanted to blame DMV and [redacted] taxes. Which was disregarding to my complaint that it also included the title and registration fees. In the end we reminded them that we were recording it this time which [redacted] did not like and said it couldn't be used. I'm sorry but if you have nothing to hide you would NOT have a problem with this. Desired SettlementKeep to the agreement that was originally made. There is no reason you should say one thing and do another. It doesn't matter if someone signs a paper if they are constantly being told something contradictory. Even when they call the same morning they make the trip to DMV and the dealership tells them oh I don't know why they did that it should have came to you with your name on it. (Referring to the title. Business Response First, it was not 3 weeks, it was a week and a half before you got the title as we made sure your check cleared, standard procedure. We have never had a single complaint in 11 years about someone paying their OWN taxes. Everyone knows they pay taxes when they register their car. Nobody EVER told you that we would pay YOUR taxes in your state as that's not our responsibility, there is no way for us to even do that as it requires going to the DMV in that state to register it, and we were not going to drive to [redacted] to do that of course. Each state also has a different tax rate. You either misheard or misunderstood what you were told. You were told that was all that you paid US, not that it included any taxes in your own state that we have no control over. It even says on your bill of sale that no taxes were collected, you signed it at the time of the sale as well.We have sold cars all over the world and have never paid anyone's taxes for them, never had them ask us to, nor even would that be possible as we can only collect them if the sale is in NC.

I wish to complain about a 2007 Land Rover Range, VIN [redacted]. I purchased this vehicle on February 13, 2015 from Prestige Auto Broker LLC 5716 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC.I am complaining because on the same day of purchase the vehicle broke down on me as I was driving back to South Carolina. I immediately called the owner of Prestige Auto Broker LLC and told him the issue, he replied with "What do you want me to do? you signed the As is No-Warranty form". Knowing that I had the vehicle less than three hours. I called the closest towing company, which was [redacted] and they towed it to their facility. On February 16, 2015 [redacted] towed the vehicle to [redacted] to see if they could repair the problem, unfortunately they could not repair it. So I reached out and spoke with Prestige Auto Broker and he gave me a Auto Repair Service call [redacted]. On February 24, 2015 the vehicle was towed to their facility where they performed an evaluation and diagnosis of the vehicle. Their findings were that the vehicle has lost its timing and chain tensioners has failed. So once again, I reached out to Prestige Auto Broker LLC about the cost of vehicle fees that I paid on towing and repairs to see if he would go half on them and he replied that "He is not putting anymore money into the vehicle. As of March 1, 2015 the vehicle is still at the facility of [redacted].Desired SettlementTo resolve this problem I would like you to seek reimbursement of the total cost of vehicle, towing fees and repairs fees.I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible to resolve this problem.Business Response [redacted] story is not all factual. When his 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport broke down, he admitted that he did not put premium gas in it, which is required, and then he drove it on the highway for 3 hours. It is a high mileage range Rover and driving it like that with regular unleaded was not good for the engine and there is no telling what kind of damage it did. Range Rover's are know for not being the most reliable vehicles, so high mileage, combined with regular unleaded instead of Premium and driving it hard/that long is a bad combination. When he called he was not told "what do you want me to do" he was helped with suggestions on what to try to get it to start, as he was 3 hours away in another state there wasn't much we could do from here.He said he got it started and drove it home, did he damage it by driving it then? No way to know. He says here he had it towed but told us he drove it there. We have no control over where he took his car to have it repaired, the first shop he took it to did not know about Range Rovers and couldn't fix it, not our fault.Nobody EVER told him "we are not putting more money into the vehicle"We OFFERED to pay the shop directly when talking to them on the phone and they said that [redacted] told them to not let anyone pay it except for him. [redacted] called us threatening to get his brother who is a lawyer sue us, but not sure for what since we already OFFERED to pay and he didn't accept it, he just wanted to argue and threaten. He then called threatening to "come here" and see us so we told him not to call again. He then called back again asking to help him, who would help anyone when they threaten to sue and threaten us? Nobody. He bought a Range Rover AS-IS with NO warranty and signed the AS-IS form when it was purchased, It is unfortunate that something happened to it but there is no way to know when a Used car will break, especially a high mileage Range Rover.Consumer Response Thanks for your response [redacted](shady car salesman), we appreciate your SOUR BUSINESS DEAL. If I could upload all our conversations recorded between you and I than we will know who the true LIAR WILL BE!! YOU. Yes I did put unleaded gas in the vehicle but what does that have to do with the ENGINE? People put bad gas in their cars EVERYDAY and it does not make the ENGINE CUT COMPETLEY OFF. You knew you sold me a piece of TRASH,LEMON, SOUR vehicle just like you are!!. and you call yourself a BUSINESS MAN? I NEVER TOLD YOU I DROVE THE TRUCK HOME, it was towed from where I broke down at. You FLAT OUT told me you were not helping with the first tow because I put the WRONG GAS IN IT. Now what kind of BUSINESS MAN is that? I NEVER threaten you but I did tell you I was calling a lawyer after you refuse to help me with the LEMON you sold me. The first repair shop NEVER told you they would not accept your money. I told them if you were to call than YES let [redacted] pay half of the BILL but you NEVER called. That particular shop NEVER said they could not fix it, they told me that they did not have the proper equipment to fix that particular vehicle. Once again another LIE you are telling just like you sold me that LIE to purchase that LEMON [redacted]. Oh and by the way, that LIE you told me about the mileage you put on the truck when you first got it was not 300 miles it was actually 44 miles from the time you got the vehicle from [redacted]. [redacted] miles was 102,586 and Prestige Auto Broker 102,603, NOW DO THE MATH and tell if that's 300 miles? LIAR. If you can remember one of the phone conversation we had, I had a witness who heard you tell me that we was not putting ANYMORE MONEY INTO THIS VEHICLE. Now tell me who in their right mind would not threaten to sue a dealer after spending $17,600 on a vehicle that they did not have for 24 hours? REALLY. Even if I did sign that AS-IS NO WARRANTY form, the vehicle broke down less than 24 hours. What kind of a honest and respectful business man, would not try he best to fix the vehicle or trade me out for another vehicle. But you knew that truck was LEMON and that's why you did not offer any help. You live by that AS-IS LAW, that's why you are CHEATING people out of their money. You go purchase these LEMONS and fix them up enough to been driven off your lot and they break down and your response is YOU SIGNED THE AS-IS NO WARRANTY, It's USED car with HIGH MILES, you NEVER know when they are going to break down. It's funny how you can describe your LEMON [redacted] in your response on your intake of what can could happen but every conversation we had you told me YOU KNEW NOTHING THOSE PARTICULAR TRCUKS.As of March 22, 2015 that LEMON [redacted] is still sitting at a third repair shop from the time it was PURCHASE!!! But remember I spent $17,600 If the tables were turned you would feel the same way I do. Anybody will!!!. I do not work hard just to THROW MY MONEY AWAY!!. But UNJUST does not PROSPER!!!
