Prestige Autos Reviews (2)

After trying to trade my car I was told that it had been involved in an accident that I had no knowledge of. Was not on the Carfax when I purchased. When I purchased my car from Prestige Autos I thought I was getting a good deal on my car. Got completely financed through my bank. Got the carfax and it was flawless, no accidents, nothing. I recently tried to trade in my car only being told that I wouldn't receive what I thought the car was worth being that my car had been in an accident in 2003, but it wasn't shown on my carfax. The bank also told me they wouldn't have advised me to purchase the car if they would have known that. I spoke with a salesman and they tried to tell me the accident wasn't reported on the car until May of 2014. Ten years later?! I don't understand and tried to get clarification but all they had to say was that maybe there was a claim still open on the car that had just closed, but I was advised that that was incorrect and claims don't stay open that long for cars that are in accidents. I recently got into a fender bender and that was reported in no time so why is it that it took an old claim over 10 years to be reported. I went to try to trade my car back to Prestige Autos and they only offered me not even half of what I purchased the car for only a year ago and that I had too much negative equity on the car. I just wanted to get out of the car for the false claims made on my car or adjustments they may have made to the carfax. The same day I was there a lady was outside telling me not to purchase a vehicle from Prestige because they are scam artists who talk fast and get peoples money and then have them come back when they have mechanical problems to keep getting there money. This is a place where you do not want to buy a car. I don't advise this at all unless you want to be in a bad deal.Desired SettlementI just wanted to get in a better car for my money and at least get full details on the carfax of the car or I just want my money back so I can find something else to drive. I travel for four people so I really need something better than this bad deal of a car. Business Response /[redacted]/Mr. [redacted] in response to your claim. I personally spoke to you about the issue you have with your vehicle. You called our office and said you had lost your job and that you would like to trade into a cheaper payment. The conversation we had, I said to you that it would be very hard for you to trade your vehicle without a job to support paying for the auto. Also, the day you brought your car in to see about trade your car had been keyed all the way around it. When ask you said you purchased the car like that. We immediatley told you that was not true that car was online with pictures when you bought it and no key marks were present. You also have to remember that when you trade a car you do not get retail price when you trade it back in. You then proceeded to tell me about the carfax. I did tell you that I could not explain why that was up their unless this was a claim that had been in litigation and insurance had not resolved the issue. However, Mr. [redacted] The State Employees Credit Union pulls their own carfax and their was no accident reported. We as a company can not be responsible for what we do not know. We did not make any false claims or make any changes to a carfax. Mr. [redacted] for every one customer that makes a complaint we have 20 satisfied customers. If we had been able to trade your vehicle you would still would have been a satisfied customer. I am sorry about the loss of your job and that the carfax had a delay but again we didn't know anything about the accident.

Dishonest contract and sold a car with known problems without informing meI bought a used car august 22 2014 from pprestige auto in kinston nc. The day I left there I signed a contract for payment of 243 for 24 months. The check engine light was on but they said they put a new ignition coil in it and that would take care of the check engine light. Yes the light went out but halfway home it came back on. That tells me all they did was reset the ecm. Now, I carried the car back to the dealer and told him my front struts were shot. "No problem" he said. "We will have the parts here and fix it." 6 hours I sat at the dealership and all they did was change a bearing. In 3 months, I bought out of my OWN pocket, a set of front struts, a set of ignition coils, a new alternator and now my crankshaft position sensor is going out making the car not want to start, my exhaust has fell apart, half of my interior has electrical problems. All of this within 3 months of owning the car. Then, to top it all off, I find out that the salesman forged my name on a different contract than what I had originally signed, costing me over 1000 dollars more than I agreed to. I ask why and never get a straight answer. This is the worst experience in buying a car that I have ever had and I will NOT EVER buy anything else from these people. They tried to cheat me out of over 1000 dollars after selling me a car that had more problems I can count. I tried to talk to the dealership and told them to take this car back and give me my trade 8n vehicle back or pay me the 1800 they gave me for my trade in plus what ive had to buy for this hunk of junk. The response I got was "see you in court" What they did was illegal.Desired SettlementTake this 2000 maxima back aand give me the 1800 that was paid for my trade in on my 2001 ram sport plus the cost of repairs ive had to make on this maxima in a short 3 months. A total of approximately 2100 dollars.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/Yes it has been resolved. Thank you.Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone
