Prestige Economy Cars, Inc. Reviews (1)

I purchased this vehicle from this dealer based on the information given from them stating nothing was wrong with the vehicle. This Jeep has given me problems from the time of purchase. I advised the owner of things I have noticed wrong with the vehicle. It leaks water on the inside of the truck when it rains. There is a shortage in the headlights/interior lights as well. When braking, it's like the brakes are jumping when coming to a stop. The spare tire has nails in it, that appear to have been in there quite some time. The main issue as of now, when signing they stated the Jeep was valued at $8000. I have not had this vehicle for a whole year and now I can not drive it at all. It is a safety hazard to myself and others if I attempt to drive the vehicle. I have been instructed by a certified dealer to not drive the jeep at all. There has been an underlying issue with the Jeeps front differential. "The differential is a gearbox located between the drive wheels on your vehicle. Most four-wheel drive vehicles have both a front and rear differential. Differentials work with your transmission to deliver power from your engine to the axle that turns your wheels."(google) Some how there was an oil leak in that that caused my axle to lock and break while driving on the highway. When I purchased this vehicle, I also purchased a warranty through Diamond warranty to cover the engine, transmission, and the 4-wheel drive. When reaching out to the dealer and the warranty company I was informed from the dealer that it would not be a covered service. When reaching out to the warranty company they stated it's possible it is not a covered service, and in order for me to find out I would have to give a shop permission to diagnose the vehicle in hopes it will be covered. I can not afford to pay the money for the diagnosis in hopes that it "might" be covered and risk wasting $100. As of right now the truck is stuck at the dealership that I took it to get the recalls repaired at.Product_Or_Service: Jeep Grand CherokeeDesired SettlementOne of these options will work for me:
1.I would like to have all of the issues with the truck taken care of
2.I would prefer to get my money back for the time I have paid on it, if will not repair the truck
3.If I return the truck I do not want the loan company to put on my credit as repo, because I am voluntarily returning the vehicle.Business Response I am amazed after 7 or 8 after purchase I just heard from this customer on Monday about a problem with her axle or brakes. The car was sold as is by my dealership but I help her purchase a 5 yrs 100k miles limited power train warranty.which I paid 80% of the cost. She knew the car was financed by a loan company. She signed all paperwork. every thing was legal and no shady dealing or missing info.I even called the warranty company for her.The company stated that the car must be diagnosis to see if it's covered under the warranty.I don't see why she wouldn't do that. I have no obligation to her car or refund any money.Consumer Response What amazes me is the fact that the owner can "remember" that I never called about an issue with this truck but could not remember who I was, or even the correct warranty that was purchased for it. When I called on Monday 02-01-2016 you told me that I only had a 6 month warranty on the vehicle. I informed you that I remembered there was a 5 year warranty purchased when signing for this vehicle. If nothing was wrong with the truck, why were you so adamant about the warranty. You should be able to stand by the product you are selling and guarantee nothing is wrong with it. But you can't do that, you are car salesman and are trained to lie and take advantage of customers knowing they need transportation. Being that he even had me doing repos for him. Even before he had me do a repo, I informed him of the issues with the truck. On numerous occasions I have called and spoke with someone concerning my jeep. Either the owner was never there or when I would speak with him he would tell me he has nothing to do with the issue. I gave up calling because if he can't properly pay someone that works for him, why would he help me with the vehicle. I am not making a complaint about brakes, I have paid to get them done. This has nothing to do with brakes. I was informed that the front differential is part of the problem and this has been a problem before I had it. I kept the jeep in the best condition I could, but it's a problem when all of my money is going into this vehicle and now I am stuck without transportation but I still owe almost $8000. This truck was valued at $8000 when purchased, but I can't even trade it in because it's valued at $200. How can you possibly know a true value of a can when all of the vehicles you have on your lot come from an auction. A lot of the cars that are sitting on your lot has issues or can not be driven. Also, when speaking with the warranty company, they were supposed to send me a copy of my contract and that was never received. I have done some research on the warranty company and all the reviews I have read were similar to my story and no one was covered by them. Not only was I sold a truck that gave out in 7 or 8 months of purchase, the warranty company is bogus and a waste of money. Every time I call, I have to select the options as a dealer just to speak with a live person.Final Business Response The customer was right at first I did not know who she was.Last year we sold 97 cars and I don't remember very customer by name. And was correct I thought she had a 6 months limited warranty. you I put 6 months limited warranty on about 90% of all cars sold at my expense not because something is wrong with the cars just some security for my customers.I have been in business for over 12 years and sold over 900 cars and have had only about 6 or 7 complaint to the better business that less than 1%. I just had a customer who brought 3 cars from my dealership brought another one yesterday.about the warranty company the customers that had covered claims cars was fixed. of all the warranty customers we have had 5 claims in over three years.as I can recall this is the same lady that called me on two different occasion and asked me for a job. If my cars are so bad and I take advantage of customers why would you want to work for me.? what the name of your repo company?
