Prestige Foot & Ankle Center Reviews (1)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/09/03) */
In February of 2015 this particular patient underwent foot surgery performed by Dr. Richard L[redacted]. It is true a genetic test was performed prior to the surgery to identify inherited coagulation pathway deficits that increase thrombosis risk,...

select effective pain control medications to minimize post-operative discomfort, and determine appropriate anti-coagulation therapy. Anytime a surgical procedure is performed on the lower limbs, the risk of blood clots increases due to the immobility required for healing. This can be a very common occurrence if not treated correctly with prescription anti coagulation therapy. In this patient's case this test was performed and the appropriate therapy based on the test results was administered post-operatively. What is not true is the fact that this patient received a bill for the genetic testing. If they would have called our office when receiving the letter from the company that bills the genetic testing, I could have read it to them and made them aware that it was not a bill but a letter stating the company needed insurance information from them. Unfortunately the situation was never brought to the attention of our office. I had to contact the company for clarification regarding the letter sent to the patient. The test was administered to promote the highest standard in quality care for our patients; therefore we will not apologize for taking our patient's health seriously.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/09/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have the bill in my hands. it is for $2675.52 Don't tell me that I have not received a bill. This is the first and only bill that I have received. Anyone in their right mind would not have agreed to pay this amount for a test had they been told $2000 was going to come out of their pocket. Apparently the insurance co is only covering $638.00 so that leaves me to cover the rest. I won't be back to this physician. I should have been informed on the cost and how much my insurance would cover bottom line.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/09/22) */
Business contacted Revdex.com.
The consumer actual is not responsible for payment. He is welcome to contact Dr. L[redacted]) or the actual genetics lab for an explanation of the billing process. There appears to be a misunderstanding of how the payment should be used from the program.
