I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Prestige Auto Sales did not directly and adequately respondto the main issues, instead it tried to use deceptive language and bogusfigures to make an already bad situation, worse. Prestige Auto Sales mentioneda promotional price of $9,499, and a down payment of $2,995. Firstly, theyfailed to mention that I gave them a down payment of $8,000 to bring down theprincipal. Secondly, my wife and I wanted to use her credit which was betterthan the 780 score Prestige indicated to purchase the vehicle, but they declined because they said my wife was not physically present at the time to sign thepaperwork. Prestige Auto Sales was aware that my credit did not meet theirpromotion because they said it has delinquent accounts as well as two open auto loans, which by the way is a false statement, yet they went ahead and financed thevehicle behind closed doors and inserted a hidden price in the deal. Now doesn’tthat sound fraudulent? They never informed me of the hidden price of $15,499,but instead covered it up by explaining that it was a combination of tax, title, plates, and extended warranty. If they had informed me that theyswitched the original price, I would never have agreed to purchase thatvehicle. I never asked them for an extended warranty. They compelled me to purchaseit because, according to them, it was a requirement of the finance company, which I later discovered to be a lie. In reference to the Ohio BMV, they neverinformed me to drive the vehicle to go get an inspection. Before I left theiroffice, they merely told me that they will take care of everything and mail memy license plates before the expiration of the temporary tag. I laterdiscovered that they weren’t even sure of the proper procedure to obtainlicense plates in the state of Ohio. They simply called me up one day and askedme to drive the vehicle with an expired temporary tag to an e-check location foran inspection. I refused because in the state of Ohio, it is illegal to drive avehicle without proper temporary tag or license plates. At present, PrestigeAuto Sales is not owning up to its responsibility of agreeing to settle orsolve this problem they created with a consumer. They have instead resorted tolies, using bogus figures, and deceptive explanation to address these crucialissues. I am not satisfied with their explanation and I will not relent inpursuing this case to its logical or legal conclusion. This business “PrestigeAuto Sales” need to be exposed to the public regarding the way they conducttheir shady business with unsuspecting consumers.

This has been resolved. We have refunded him his money

We currently have the vehicle in our possession and are working on finding and fixing the problem.

Review: On June ** I traveled to Brooklyn, NY from Cleveland, OH to purchase a vehicle (2008 Infiniti FX 35) that was advertized online in the amount of $9,499 by Prestige Motor Sales, Inc. I am currently filing this complaint against Prestige Motor Sales for the following reasons: 1. That Prestige Motor Sales deceptively sold me the 2008 Infiniti by fraudulently switching the advertized price of $9,499.00 to $15,499.00. 2. That I gave Prestige Motor Sales a down payment of $8,000.00 to lower the principal of the total amount. 3. That they compelled me to purchase an extended warranty in the amount of $2,280.00 despite the fact that it was optional, insisting that it was required by the finance company, which was not true. 4. That part of the purchase deal was to provide me with a memorandum of title and the license plate for the vehicle before the July **, 2015 temporary tag expiration date, which never happened despite several attempts at contacting them. 5. That this car was purchased for my wife to drive to and from work, and who has not been able to do so, and has resulted in lost wages because the vehicle is undrivable. 6. That we have paid the first installment and incurred expenses on the vehicle, and do not wish to continue with any further payment as the vehicle has been parked in our driveway and is not being used because of lack of legal paperwork. 7. That, Prestige Motor Sales has contacted us and asked us to drive the vehicle to an e-check inspection destination without a license plate and we have vehemently refused to do so for legal reasons. At this point, we do not wish to keep this vehicle since it was fraudulently sold to us and has not been driven since purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like Prestige Motor Sales, Inc. to totally refund my down payment of $8,000.00 including all expenses incurred since the purchase of this 2008 Infiniti FX 35. My wife and I spent several years saving up this money and would like to have it back.

Response:

Review: I recently bought a 2007 used Honda CRV from this company after seeing an ad on cars.com. the ad said the car was worth $7995 but when I got there the price was changed to $11,000. We agreed on that price and I put a down payment of $5,000 agreeing that I only owed them $6,000. I was given a contract and the dealer, [redacted], explained that the total amount on the contract $10,720.34 was what the car costs. When I received a statement from the bank it turned out that that was actually the amount she financed; she lied to me. The bask also informed me that with accrued interest I would end up paying them a total of $14,318.40 so including my down payment the car will end up costing me $19,318.40. I called [redacted] and asked why she financed that much and she told me to take it up with the bank so I told her I wanted an explanation of how my bill went from $6,000 to $14,318. She told me she would send me a breakdown in the mail and I never received it and I've been calling her for almost 3 weeks and her coworker [redacted] keeps telling me she isn't there or is too busy to speak to me. She claims she gave me a payment package but she didn't give me anything at all. As I was walking out I told her I needed a receipt saying I prayed her $5,000 and she wrote it on a tiny piece of paper and stamped it. I haven't been able to reach her and have been advised not to confront her because that could end up hurting me so now I don't know what to do.Desired Settlement: I would like them to change the financing from $10720.34 to the agreed price of $6,000. Or they could refund me my money and I will return the car.
