Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. To make the record straight, I confirm that I did, indeed, ask back in 2014 to have my clothes laundered by default. However, I was never informed that the pressing process was different. I dispute the claim that I "was again advised, because of the delicate nature of the material of these particular shirts to have them dry cleaned instead of having them laundered partly because of the pressing process". That did not happen. As customary, I just dropped a bag with my doorman and they picked it up, without contacting me.I knew the shirt could be laundered, but I did not "choose to take a chance" because I was not aware of the pressing machine risk. I would never have risked damaging my new shirt if I knew.Having said that, I recognize it was a misunderstanding and I believe me and my neighbor business have more to win by closing this dispute and having me back as a regular customer. That's why I accept the resolution with the store credit.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: This company runs the dry cleaning/package room of my doorman apartment building ([redacted]). On 8/**, I ordered an Apple laptop computer valued at $1756.15. On 8/**, the laptop was delivered and signed for by [redacted], an employee of Prestige. When I picked up the package and opened it, I found that the laptop had been removed and a binder full of paper had been placed in the box instead. I contacted Apple and FedEx to initiate a claim, and Apple promptly sent a replacement laptop. I explained the situation to [redacted], who claimed he would keep an eye out for the replacement shipment and call me once it had arrived. On 9/*, the replacement laptop was delivered, and also signed for by [redacted]. He telephoned me to let me know the package had been delivered. On 9/*, I went to Prestige to pick up the package and I was informed that [redacted] no longer worked for the company, was not allowed in the building, and that my package was nowhere to be found. On 9/*, I contacted the building manager of my apartment building whom informed me I would need to contact the manager of Prestige, [redacted]. I left a message regarding my situation with the phone operator at Prestige, and was informed that [redacted] was out of town and would return my call as soon as possible. On 9/*, I got a hold of [redacted] on the phone and he explained that he would be at the building on Monday (9/**), at which time he would file a police report, and he promised that he would make the situation right. I spoke to [redacted] on 9/**, to inquire on the police report and he stated he was very busy and didn't have a chance to do it. On 9/**, I spoke to [redacted] and he asked about the value of the laptops that were stolen. On 9/**, [redacted] called me and explained that he was going to give me a check for $900 and a credit with the company for $900, that would be left for me by the evening of 9/**. (As of 9/**, this had not occurred.) After considering this proposal, I determined that it was not sufficient to compensate me for my loss, and contacted the property manager of my apartment building, who agreed that [redacted] should be liable for the replacement cost of the lost package, and said she would follow up with [redacted] and get back to me. [redacted] has since stopped returning the calls to my property manager, and is no longer taking my calls. I have since had follow-up conversations with Apple, who notified me that the claim they made to FedEx was denied on the grounds of the situation in which Prestige had signed for the deliveries, and therefore the deliveries were good. In addition to the laptop that Apple is out, I am out the amount of $1756.16Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that I be reimbursed the amount of $1756.15, for the cost of the missing package that was never delivered to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I brought a pair of brand new suit pants (tag still attached) to the Prestige’s Roosevelt Island location at [redacted] to be altered as they didn’t fit correctly. After looking at the pants and the fit, the tailor said that he could make adjustments to the “crotch area” so that they would fit properly. After I picked up the pants and tried them on, they not only didn’t fit correctly, but the whole “seat area” had been altered and sewn together crookedly. When I brought the pant pack to Prestige and complained about the work quality, the employee working there told me that a [redacted] will have to look at the pants and determine if there was a problem. When the [redacted] never got back to me, I went to Prestige again, only to be told by the tailor that he didn’t touch the “seat area” and only altered the “crotch area”. I went back to the store where I purchased the suit and checked the seam on the “seat area”, not only it looked different, the thread color was completely different from the one in my pair, which leads me to believe that the tailor did alter the “seat area” and is plainly lying.Desired Settlement: Prestige should either send the pants to a real tailor to be fixed, or refund me the cost of the suit.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: This happened on the Roosevelt Island branch.

I sent them a black shirt to be cleaned, and it came back with very visible scorch marks on the collar. I believe they melted the fabric on pressing.

This was a brand new shirt that I had custom made to fit. It was used only once and they made it unusable.

I went to the business 4 times to try to resolve the situation.

Visit 1: I was told to return 3 days later because that's when the manager was available.

Visit 2: The manager said they could try to fix it and I left the shirt with them. She said they would try to wash it.

Visit 3: The shirt came back the same way. I went back and insisted to get it fixed. The manager said there was nothing she could do, but to try to talk with the owner. I left my shirt there.

Visit 4: In about a week I didn't hear back, so I went there in person to check the status. The manager said it should be ready in a day.

I once more got the shirt with the scorch marks. In fact, it seems they just cleaned my shirt 2 more times, so they are just wearing it off, rather than fixing it.Desired Settlement: They should pay for a new made-to-measure shirt at the same quality level. In a place like this: [redacted] the average price is $275. There may be cheaper options.

Alternatively, I'd be ok if the collar was replaced with a new one, as long as if they can find the same fabric and have a skilled tailor do the job.

When [redacted] picked up his items, he was very happy with the quality but did not realize the charge would be higher. As a courtesy, we gave him a credit for the dry cleaning charge. In December 2015, [redacted] once again bought in shirts to be cleaned. He was again advised, because of the delicate nature of the material of these particular shirts to have them dry cleaned instead of having them laundered partly because of the pressing process. Pressing is done on specialized equipment designed for various garment types and when the incorrect ma chine is used, irreversible damage can occur. One possibility being a shine in various areas touched by the hot iron press machine not designed for this type of shirt. [redacted] opted to have them laundered because of the lower rate. When his shirt came back damaged, and he reminded it can not be fixed, he was understandably upset. Nonetheless, [redacted], was forewarned of the potential damage to shirt if he only laundered it. He chose to take that chance. In the interest of good customer service and as an extended courtesy, we are willing to give him a $50 credit.
