After purchasing a home in August in accordance with my VA Home Loan/Insurance requirements, I requested a Home Inspection and found their contractual work to be poor with building shortcutsThe housing construction was rushed with no concern for professional QA after completion and lacks qualityThere were obvious errors and lack of correct apprenticeship skills on their part(1) Walls were not properly sanded after mud and taping; (2) There were flaws in the floors, wooden floor paneling was crooked, and gaps along the baseboards and hallways; (3) Carpet was not properly stretched and sealed along the doorways; (4) Hallway entrances were crooked, and (5) the backyard was a mess with the lack of topsoil and properly levelingAfter a year's residency, I've had to spend in excess of their attorney's settlement and still continuing to correct and redo the flaws (i.e., carpeting, etc.) I highly NOT recommend purchasing a home from Mark Harris Construction/Property ManagementIf so, be sure to thoroughly have the house inspected prior to purchasing and closingFurthermore, I would like the local building associations be aware of such poor conditions and construction in Hardin County, KY
In 1999-I contract Marc Harris Construction to build my dream homeHis company was given a complete set of engineered blue prints from the foundation all the way to finished homeHis company took it upon their self to change how the foundation and main floor construction would be builtThis issue was found after @years when cracks in the walls and doors not closing properly and sagging floors where discovered I then contacted Marc Harris Const, and brought this to their attention and they came out and spent @days adding additional floor joust to the main floorThis helped for a short timeNow 17yrs after the initial construction I am having to look for a remodler or construction contractor to fix or rebuild what should have been built right the first time
I am a truck driver o.t.r., so I was not around during the build, and unfortunately I did not discover this until the problem occurred
This is not meant to be slanderous in any way, only to say buyer bewareTo double check work being done by this contractor
