Company charges customer $4.99 for 3-5 business day shipping and only pays USPS $.40 and sends it regular mail. They are acting fraudulently. Order [redacted]. Purchased April 20, 2016. Shipped April 26. Paid $4.99 for "super saver shipping" which they said was 3-5 business days. Due to arrive on May 3. Did not arrive in that date. USPS confirmed that Presto Photo did not send via 3-5 business days but sent it via the slowest method possible: 14 days and only paid USPS $.40 to send it. It is a scam. Desired SettlementStop defrauding customers with false shipping charges. Business Response [redacted] placed order XXXXX on 4/20. We had to correct her file and released her order (with her approval) to production on 4/21. Her order shipped 4/25. Per our site softcover books take 2 business days for production.She selected our SuperSaver Shipping ship method for $4.99. PER USPS the cost to ship her order via media mail is $5.34. To ship her order via Priority the cost is $13.02. That is directly from USPS. Even if the postage was .40 the packaging for her order would add up to more than .40 (box, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, labor to put the books in the box)Oh 5/6 as the package was lost in the USPS system we printed 2 additional copies of her book and over nighted the order to Ms. [redacted]. The first 2 books arrived via USPS (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ) on May 7th, and the 2nd 2 books arrived via Fedex (XXXXXXXXXXXX ) on 5/11 Consumer Response PrestoPhoto does not seem to dispute it only paid $.40 to ship the books nor does it dispute that I paid $4.99 for 3-5 day business day shipping (they simply provide a number of hypotheticals). Instead, PrestoPhoto NOW tries to bury the costs in "packaging." However, its website does not and did not say it was charging $4.99 for shipping and HANDLING. It says only that it is SHIPPING. I also point out that there was no BUBBLE WRAP on my package. Only cellophane and tape.USPS confirmed that PrestoPhoto sent this package MEDIA MAIL - which is the SLOWEST possible method of delivery (taking anywhere from 10-14 days which is exactly the amount of time it took to reach my address). Media mail is slower than even First Class mail (which basically regular/normal mail). As most customers know, 3-5 BUSINESS DAY mail is commonly understood as being is akin to PRIORITY MAIL (better than First Class and MUCH MUCH better than the method PrestoPhoto selected).PrestoPhoto tells its customers that if they pay $4.99, they are selecting a SHIPPING method that is better than regular mail: not worse. Then when customers complain, it blames the customers for choosing a "cheap" method of delivery it's not cheap btw and then blame USPS for not delivering it on time). For example, it points to the website telling customers that it is not responsible for USPS' failure to deliver on time and that the 3-5 business days is just "an estimate." However, by selecting MEDIA MAIL, PrestoPhoto is ensuring the packages will NOT arrive within 3-5 business days. It is fraud, plain and simple.PrestoPhoto also falsely states that it sent 2 additional books because the first two did not arrive on time. The books arrived on Saturday, May 7 and I immediately emailed them explaining that the books were very poor quality (colors were way off and many pictures were out of focus). It was not until the evening of Monday, May 9 (after the first 2 books had already arrived) that PrestoPhoto re-sent 2 more books (fixing the color imbalances but not the overall quality). This misrepresentation should further show that this business is not trustworthy.
