They hide behind a 7 day policy. I had a turtle that I paid $99 + shipping for that passed away on the 11th day that I had him. The company wouldn't work with me at all. No partial credit, etc. even though I had taken him to a Veterinarian in effort to save him. The Vet even gave me a certificate that stated that the turtle had been unfit for sale. I will never do business with this company again and I advise anyone who does to use extreme caution especially if you buy an exotic species. Beware of the Terms and Conditions. All of the company's customer testimonials are reviewed by the company before posted to their website. I believe that this paints a very biased portrait of what they are actually like to deal with.
I purchased two spotted turtle hatchlings. They arrived and I reported that one was lethargic when I spoke to an employee who called to see if they had arrived. She said that he was groggy from traveling- reasonable. But he never recovered. He was paralyzed in the hind end and had a puffy left eye. E-mails back and forth were nothing but asking me about my tank conditions, which were fine for this species. Any mention of of the paralysis rendered silence from their end. No one EVER answered the phone- straight to voice mail. Eventually the lethargic turtle died so we took the remaining one to the vet who said he was in bad shape as well. That turtle died as well. We have since found out that we paid over two times the market rate for these turtles as well. It is believed that this business is not much more than a reptile mill.
I recently purchased two three striped mud turtles from the turtle source and I wanted to share my positive experience. I was hesitant to purchase a live animal online and was worried about the shipping. I made my purchase thursday afternoon and recieved my package of live turtles the next morning. I was shocked by the turnaround. When my package arrived it was in great shape, well packed and my turtles were in perfect health. I let the turtles relax for a half hour or so before putting them in their new home. They perked up quick and were in perfect health. Thanks Turtle Source.
