Preston Honda Reviews (3)

Review: We have a 2008 honda pilot that was under a recall for a airbag issue. We called and made a appointment with preston honda to fix what needed to be done. The car was taken in the week of 1/18/16. They fixed the car as we waited for it and we thought all was well. On the way home we could hear a clicking noise comming from the steering wheel when the wheel was turned, and the noise had not been there previous to this day. THe next day, Preston Honda called to ask for feedback on the visit, we had told them that there was now a noise comming from the steering wheel that had not been there previous to the repair they preformed, the person from Preston Honda said she would set up another appointment so they could check out what the problem was. The next day they looked at the car and we was told it was a cable reel or what they also call a springclock. They said this was just a freak thing that happened and it was not related to the work they did. The mechanic said that he wasnt even going to call the service manager over to check the problem because it had nothing to do with the work he preformed. They said they could fix it for nearly $300.00. Mind you, this car was originally taken in for a defect, recalled by Honda.

This next week I decided to follow up with the service manager, so I called on the phone. After telling me what the part in question does he says that he doesnt think its possible that they are responsible. I asked him if they would go ahead and fix it since the car was not making the noise to begin with when we took it in. He said he wanted to consult with the mechanic first and he would call me back. later that day he called and left a voice mail saying that after talking with the mechanic there is no way they did anything to that part in the car, even though the part in question attaches to the piece they worked on. They refused to fix the issue that was not there when we originally took the car into them. Very disappointing in a dealership that owns multiple lots in the area.Desired Settlement: We expect Preston Honda to fix this issue, there was no problem with this part when the car was taken to them, they want us to believe that the issue started by chance when we left the the dealership that same day they worked on the car.

ID #[redacted]Dear Revdex.com,This letter is in response to a complaint filed by a customer with a 2008 Honda pilot with 103,686 miles in which we (dealership) performed a factory mandated driver's side airbag recall. On January 18, 2016 our dealership had a scheduled appointment to perform and complete a factory mandated recall for a driver's side airbag on a 2008 Honda Pilot, The repair order was dispatched and given to one of our most experienced technicians. The repair involves removing the horn pad, removing several screws and replacing the drivers side airbag Inflator assy, It is not a complicated process but extremely important to replace. After completing the recall the customer had scheduled another appointment and was at the dealer on January 21, 2016 3 days later stating there was a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. We sent the vehicle back to the same technician to re-examine his work and see where the noise was coming from. It was determined that the noise was coming from the CABLE REEL- also known as a clock-spring.We (DEALER) had walked the customer back to their vehicle and physically showed them what we had performed and explained to them that there was no connection in causing this issue. After speaking with the customer and his concerns and then discussing this with the technician I decided that in this particular case the DEALER had not caused the NOISEY CABLE REEL and would not be offering any assistance for the repair. I also expressed that if we were at fault this would have been covered entirely by our service department. The horn pad, the steering wheel, and the steering column have to be removed to gain access to the CABLE REEL which did not occur.Sincerely,Mike R[redacted] Service Manager Preston Honda ###-###-####

Review: I thought that I was co-signing for an auto loan for my daughter, but it turns out that I was the buyer. They reassured me that I was just the co-signer and that it didn't matter which name came first on the auto loan contract. I informed them again that I would only co-sign for the loan because I needed to get a loan in two years to buy out the lease on my vehicle. I became aware of the fact that I was the buyer when the loan company called me about a week after the purchase. Now two years later, I need a loan and can't get one because of this. I have a good credit rating but nobody will give me a loan because I don't have enough income to afford another loan. I guess I'll be walking to work in a few months when my lease is over. This boils down to nothing but fraud and I also think it's illegal. They need to correct the situation and somehow make it right. I was just another innocent victim in the dishonest world of selling cars. They do whatever it takes to make that sale.Desired Settlement: They need to get my name off the loan contract as the buyer. I won't pay any money towards making it right, titles, filing fees, taxes, ect.

Review: We leased a 2014 Honda Oddessy from Preston Honda in New Castle at the end of March. We recieved a letter from the department of Transportation 2 weeks later stating that they had recieved notification that we had dropped the insurance on the car that we traded in stating that we had 30 days to either return the plates that were supposed to be transferred onto our new vehicle or provide paper work to show that it was traded in. We called the dealership about the letter that we recieved and spoke to a [redacted] he informed us to throw the paper away and wait until we recieved the new registration for both vehicles. When we recieved the new registrations for the vehicles we noticed that both vehicles were listed under the same license plate we called the dealership (at this time it had been over 30 days) to inform them of the issue who in turn told us that it was his fault and that they would take care of it. We recieved a phone call 2 days later saying that since it was over the 30 days there was nothing they could do that it was our responsibility to get the registration and the plate fixed and since there was no plate or registration at all on the Oddyssey. They refused to reimburse us the gas after they told us they would (for the drive from our house to New Castle the first time before finding out we would need a POA), but told us that they could reimburse us for the new plate that we had to get as well as the registration. However when we went to [redacted]o get the plate and registration fixed we found out that when they did the paper work that they listed us as only the owners and not the leasees so the registration would be in [redacted] name and not ours the only way to fix that would be to get a power of attorney. We feel that we should also be refunded from the previous plate beings that the plate and registration was good until Oct 2014 however because they completed the paper work incorrectly and since we were only listed as owners and not leasees we were unable to use the plate.Desired Settlement: We would like this resolved by being fully refunded for not only the title and the registration but also for the gas that we had to put into our vehicle to fix what they had messed up (we have recipts) as well as the cost of the other plate & registration. I'm 7.5 months pregnant and not going to get paid for maternity leave we don't have the money to pay out for something that was clearly not our fault. Nor do we want someone else to have to go through the inconvience and stress that we did
