Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below As I have called another Honda dealership, they have informed me that , it is very true that they do not have to directly contact the part in question, however, it is entirely possible that something else could have occurred in the process of them performing the recall work since we do not know exactly what they did when they performed the work, meaning, we was not standing over the person's shoulder watching them perform the workAlso, its is possible that even though Preston Honda is saying it is a Cable Reel that is making the noise, it could be something else making the noise, generating from the steering wheel areaSince we are unsure if Preston Honda is correct with it being the Cable Reel, we will have to occur out of pocket expenses to take the vehicle to another dealer and get it diagnosed. The very bottom line is that , Honda recalled this vehicle for a very serious problem, Preston Honda performed this recall work in the very area of the complaint explained in this report, when we picked the vehicle up from this dealership after they performed the work, there was a new noise in the area that they had worked on, regardless of whether or not they directly touched that partThey offered the explanation that it was just a 'freak occurrence'It is disappointing that a local dealership with strong ties in the community would respond in this matter and not take the extra step to insure customer satisfaction, especially since we are a local family who try to support our business's in the areaThey would not even offer a discount of any kind to fix this matter, only to say they would not fix it since they didnt touch that partIf this is the response we can expect for a problem that happened to occur THE DAY OF the work they performed, then we have no need to further any future business with them and would suggest that others read this complaint and proceed with caution when dealing with this business Regards, [redacted]

In response to the Odyssey Minivan that was being repaired at our dealership last weekThe customer brought in his vehicle for concerns about his power sliding doors on his Honda Odyssey with 173k milesThe passenger power sliding door had separate issues - the center rollers, and the closer motor/ cable assembly (cable was broken)The drivers side diagnosis was the center rollers needed replacedThe customer authorized repairs for both power sliding doors and the parts were orderedThe next day after the repairs were completed we performed a quality control inspection of the vehicle making sure both doors were working properlyIn the process the drivers side door cable separatedThe only repair we did on the drivers side door was the center rollersWe pulled the panel off the door and noticed that the cable had separatedThe cable can not be ordered by itself - it has to be ordered as a closer motor assy (which includes the cable)Of course, this was no fault of the dealer or the technician I had left a voicemail to the customer to explain the circumstances that had just transpiredWhen he returned my call I advised him of the situation at hand, and offered to reduce the cost of the repair by $as a goodwill gesture He authorized us to move forward with the repair, and I advised him it would be ready the next dayThis was an unfortunate incident that occurred, and I expressed those sentiments to our customer

ID #[redacted]Dear Revdex.com,This letter is in response to a complaint filed by a customer with a 2008 Honda pilot with 103,686 miles in which we (dealership) performed a factory mandated driver's side airbag recall. On January 18, 2016 our dealership had a scheduled appointment to perform and complete a...

factory mandated recall for a driver's side airbag on a 2008 Honda Pilot, The repair order was dispatched and given to one of our most experienced technicians. The repair involves removing the horn pad, removing several screws and replacing the drivers side airbag Inflator assy, It is not a complicated process but extremely important to replace. After completing the recall the customer had scheduled another appointment and was at the dealer on January 21, 2016 3 days later stating there was a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. We sent the vehicle back to the same technician to re-examine his work and see where the noise was coming from. It was determined that the noise was coming from the CABLE REEL- also known as a clock-spring.We (DEALER) had walked the customer back to their vehicle and physically showed them what we had performed and explained to them that there was no connection in causing this issue. After speaking with the customer and his concerns and then discussing this with the technician I decided that in this particular case the DEALER had not caused the NOISEY CABLE REEL and would not be offering any assistance for the repair. I also expressed that if we were at fault this would have been covered entirely by our service department. The horn pad, the steering wheel, and the steering column have to be removed to gain access to the CABLE REEL which did not occur.Sincerely,Mike R[redacted] Service Manager Preston Honda ###-###-####

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As I have called another Honda dealership, they have informed me that , it is very true that they do not have to directly contact the part in question, however, it is entirely possible that something else could have occurred in the process of them performing the  recall work since we do not know exactly what they did when they performed the work, meaning, we was not standing over the person's shoulder watching them perform the work. Also, its is possible that even though Preston Honda is saying it is a Cable Reel that is making the noise, it could be something else making the noise, generating from the steering wheel area. Since we are unsure if Preston Honda is correct with it being the Cable Reel, we will have to occur out of pocket expenses to take the vehicle to another dealer and get it diagnosed. The very bottom line is that , Honda recalled this vehicle for a very serious problem, Preston Honda performed this recall work in the very area of the complaint explained in this report, when we picked the vehicle up from this dealership after they performed the work, there was a new noise in the area that they had worked on, regardless of whether or not they directly touched that part. They offered the explanation that it was just a 'freak occurrence'It is disappointing that a local dealership with strong ties in the community would respond in this matter and not take the extra step to insure customer satisfaction, especially since we are a local family who try to support our business's in the area. They would not even offer a discount of any kind to fix this matter, only to say they would not fix it since they didnt touch that part. If this is the response we can expect for a problem that happened to occur THE DAY OF the work they performed, then we have no need to further any future business with them and would suggest that others read this complaint and proceed with caution when dealing with this business.

In response to the Odyssey Minivan that was being repaired at our dealership last week. The customer brought in his vehicle for concerns about his power sliding doors on his 2007 Honda Odyssey with 173k miles. The passenger power sliding door had 2 separate issues - the center rollers, and the...

closer motor/ cable assembly (cable was broken). The drivers side diagnosis was the center rollers needed replaced. The customer authorized repairs for both power sliding doors and the parts were ordered. The next day after the repairs were completed we performed a quality control inspection of the vehicle making sure both doors were working properly. In the process the drivers side door cable separated. The only repair we did on the drivers side door was the center rollers. We pulled the panel off the door and noticed that the cable had separated. The cable can not be ordered by itself - it has to be ordered as a closer motor assy (which includes the cable). Of course, this was no fault of the dealer or the technician.  I had left a voicemail to the customer to explain the circumstances that had just transpired. When he returned my call I advised him of the situation at hand, and offered to reduce the cost of the repair by $300.00 as a goodwill gesture.  He authorized us to move forward with the repair, and I advised him it would be ready the next day. This was an unfortunate incident that occurred, and I expressed those sentiments to our customer.
