Review: When I spoke with [redacted] Prewitt, the owners son, he gave me an estimate of $350 give or take for 4 new tires. He stated that the tires were $90 per tire and that there was a $70 mail in rebate. When I dropped off my car I stated I also wanted an oil change. Just oil, nothing else. When the mechanic stated I wanted my car serviced I responded, "No, just oil changed". When I picked up my car after hours the price was $534 and a note was left stating that I needed to bring the car back ASAP to have the tires aligned. The note also stated that "other payment arrangements could be made...lol" and the note had a line through it so I could still see it but that he crossed it out. I was charged for 4 new tires at $95/tire, an oil change, and the mechanic took it upon himself to change the oil filter, air filter, and top off all fluids. I specifically asked for only the oil to be changed in front of the secretery. When I dropped off my car on Friday I spoke with [redacted] regarding the bill. He stated that the mechanic wouldn't have replaced those items if I didn't need them. I stated that if my transmission was bad would he have replaced that as well? I stated that I in good faith he needed to do the alignment for free. He said that he would tell his father and I could pick up the car later that evening. I misplaced the bill and requested a new one. When I paid the bill I thought the amount was incorrect, but didn't have the old bill to refer to. The new bill was for $564. When I went home I found the old bill and noticed the difference in pricing. On the new bill he charged me $90/tire which I was quoted at but he also charged me for an alignment and other services not originally on the first receipt. So I went from an estimate of $350 give or take without the oil change to $564 with the tires, oil change, and other items replaced I did not ask to be changed! I argued this with [redacted] and he stated that he had to recoop the money for the alignment some how. I disagreed and he stated he looked in the trash for the old oil and air filter and was going to reimburse me and put the old ones back in but the trash was already picked up. He refused to budge on the bill and therefore I was delayed in sending in the rebate form to [redacted] by 2 days and am now being denied the $70 rebate. Not only did I pay up to $200 more than I expected I am now not getting the rebate. Please help!!Desired Settlement: I would like for the garage to in the least refund me the $70 rebate that [redacted] is now rejecting due to the delay in the garage with their errors in billing. I also have copies of both receipts as proof of the discrepancy in bills. I have also had contact with [redacted] Prewitt via [redacted] and he was even surprised about the large bill that was first written up.
