Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I would like to clarify several issues with regards to the response from my complaint to the Revdex.com. When I spoke with the manager from Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps last week she assured me she would send out someone from her company to repair the damages at no charge to our fireplace. The representative came out this past Friday 12/12/to take a look and assess the damages to our fireplace. Contrary to what was told to us on the telephone he gave us a verbal estimate that the repairs to the fireplace would cost around $600. The only repair that he performed at that time was that he put a screw in the back panel of the fireplace to try and tighten it down. However, this failed to repair the back panel. The representative did not take any measurements to order any panels for the fireplace. My wife and I would not have prevented him from performing the necessary repairs that were supposed to be done free of charge. Additionally, at no time did my wife cuss out the representative when he came over last Friday to make the repairs. My wife has a heavy *** accent and this should not be misinterpreted for cussing someone out. You as the manager were not present in our home when he told us (me and my wife) that it would cost $for the repairs. Therefore there appears to be some miscommunication between you and your employeesWe contacted the Revdex.com to help us resolve this dispute amicably. All that we are asking is that Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps repair the fireplace and return it to the condition that it was in before they came out to clean the chimney without any loose panels. Without these repairs in the present condition the fireplace could result in a potential fire hazard. This is not a forum for you make rude, condescending, and inappropriate comments about my wife. Any more personal and malicious attacks against my wife will not be tolerated and will be dealt with through the appropriate legal channelsIt is our expectation that Priddy Cean Chimney Sweeps will make the necessary repairs to our fireplace this Wednesday 12/17/to avoid any further legal action by us

As far as the continue slander of our business, Its Monday and here we go again with another Slap in the FACE----A  Revdex.com Complaint. Before we can even come back.  After we tighten the Panel on Wednesday, I want this review removed ASAP!!    ITS NOT [redacted] THAT WROTE THIS.... IT [redacted] HIDING BEHIND HER HUSBAND!! JUST LIKE SHE SAID IN THE BEGINNING THAT HER HUSBAND DOESN'T WANT US BACK IN THE HOUSE........ NOT TRUE!!   PLAYING  GOOD COP----- BAD COP!![redacted] has little lady syndrome, DON'T HIT YOUR CHILDREN!!! IT'S NOT THERE FAULT YOU ARE MAD AT THE WORLD! Her husband is very calm, understanding and easier to talk to, I feel bad for him and the children!!    LORD BLESS YOU!In 12 years, I have never seen anyone behave in this way!!    Completely outrageous!

We are scheduled to come back today, December 17th, 2014 for the sole purpose of installing the panels free of charge to make **. and [redacted] happy and satisfied and we hope to do so with today's return visit. Our field manager, Andrey P. will be the technician performing the panel replacement today.

Good Morning to All Parties Involved,
We are writing in response to the complaint filed 10 days ago. Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps, Inc aims to consistently deliver a professional service to our customers and we would like to state that on this occasion and circumstance, the level of...

service, attention, and time was given to this individual a number of four separate occasions with four separate technicians and our Operations Manger, Ms. Christina E[redacted] and was indeed handled within the realms of reasonable and justifiable actions and efforts on our part. During these four separate visits to the individual's home, each technicians explained and proved his claim is invalid, false, and can very well cause a detriment to our businesses's reputation as he is slandering our name and falsely claiming damage to his property.
We were contracted by this individual's neighbor, **. and [redacted], whom had warned us from the beginning that their neighbor  has had a history and reputation for causing commotion with any and all contractors that are working any where near his vicinity. Throughout the entire working relationship we had with the [redacted]'s, we have crossed paths with their neighbor and have endured countless harassing phone calls, insults, threats and, abrasive and aggressive attitudes, behavior, and  language directed towards our technicians and the entire office staff.
The first time the individual called our office to state that his fence was already in a deteriorated state and was in need of replacing and was well aware that his fence was not in any sort of pristine condition.  Initially, his anger toward our company was in regards to his gutter down spout.
The first visit we sent our technicians, Javier, to fix the gutter down spout, the individual indicated the property line that is marked in a faint yellow painted line on the public sidewalk. The gutter down spout was then moved to where the individual indicated us to allocate the down spout.
We then sent another two technicians to 1) Extend the pipe from the top of the hill to the sidewalk. 2) The pipe was moved to the sidewalk that shows the property line. 3) The gutter was then rerouted to **. [redacted]'s property. 4) Our group of technician's never touched the downspout in question, we instead ran all new piping. 5) The technician's nailed 2 boards that came loose from his fence. 6) We removed rocks and put a landscaping screen and then relayed the rocks and installed the downspout on the top of the hill.
After all this work had been done to alleviate and resolve the issues, the individual called again to our office accusing us of not adhering to our word of fixing the down spout and allocating it to its correct spot. Furthermore, the individual stated that he was a police commissioner and would report us to the authorities. Once we received this threat, we called and notified out clients who contracted us, and they informed us that he is a cashier at a supermarket and is not affiliated with the police department whatsoever. Not only did he impersonate a police officer but he also insulted our technician's by saying that there level of competence and skill was inadequate due to the fact that English is not their native tongue.  As a result, we sent another set of technicians, one of whom is a lead tech, Saul, and speaks fluent English, demonstrated and proved to the individual that we have fixed the problem. Saul flushed the downspout and water exited towards the bottom. Thus, we redid the pipe twice, re-nailed the fence and flushed the gutters proving that the water flowed out perfectly.
After, we proved the gentleman wrong, he called our office again and insulted the staff member who answered the phone and asked to " Speak to someone besides Christina who f[redacted] knows what she's talking about." Ms. Christina answered the phone in a calm and collective manner, however, as soon as Ms. Christina spoke to him, he became irate and insulted her immediately. It was then that Ms. Christina asked what his motive was due to the fact that we answered every phone call, visited his property and solved the issue at hand. What else could have been done at this point? What are his true intentions? We honor and abide by our professionalism and commitment to provide excellent customer service. chimney, and home improvement work but we will not accept our business reputation to be marred for a false and erroneous claim. We respectfully request for this accusation to be removed from Revdex.com's website and to not be included in any website that will paint us in a negative light.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]We would like to close the case.  This company sent out 3 different technicians and they each gave us a different opinion.  We will find a different company that is competent to fix the fireplace.  We feel this company will do more harm than good.[redacted]

Review: In response to Revdex.com complaint [redacted]

The statements provided in Priddy Clean's Revdex.com response are misinformed. I am not sure if [redacted] is intentionally providing incorrect information or if she was not made aware of all the events and issues. I looked at my notes and have tried to record all the conversations and contacts I had with Priddy Clean.

I’d first like to address the following inaccurate statements made in Priddy Clean’s response:

1. [redacted] states that “During November of 2012 we (Priddy Clean) completed contracted chimney repairs to both of his fireplaces and gas furnace flue.”

Response: Priddy Clean was contracted for repairs in December of 2011 for work to be completed in December of 2011. The work to be completed was overall to get both chimneys redone and make sure they were in good working order again. This included: complete reparging of the smoke chambers, complete relines of all chimneys including a gas furnace flue, replacement of dampers if necessary and any other work to get the chimney in good working order again.

Work in December of 2011 by [redacted] and Priddy Clean crew was incomplete. The following was not completed:

-Priddy Clean was not doing a reparge of the smoke chambers

-Priddy Clean did not repair the mortar joints

-Priddy Clean did not replace the dampers

-Priddy Clean did not replace the furnace flue liners

2. Once we arrived to do the repairs that were agreed for$7,500.00, he informed us that he had another company already complete his gas furnace liner for a cheaper price. This would have only decreased the total by $1,600.00-1,800.00, but he insisted in only $3,400.00.

Response: The final price was $3,600, not $3,400. The original estimate I received from Priddy Clean was for $7,500. [redacted] Priddy, CEO and owner of Priddy Clean Chimney Sweep called me on December 1st, 2011 asking for my business. [redacted] asked me how much the other companies were offering to do our Chimney work for. I said $4,000. **. Priddy said, “how about I come out there and do the work for $4,000 on Sunday?” I said, “You have yourself a deal **. Priddy.”

Before the crew arrived, I asked Priddy Clean to lower the price if possible because Priddy Clean was not going to reline our (but would still be replacing the furnace flue connectors). Priddy Clean lowered the price to $3,600.

3. [redacted] states that I “**. [redacted] then contacted us complaining of a soot like odor occurring. We as always do our best to satisfy our customers, and sent a crew by to inspect the problem. It was at the time believed a moisture issue so we without charge (normally $400.00) did a complimentary water proofing and resealed the flashing for his chimney.”

Response: Priddy Clean has yet to satisfy the original work contract and although an effort was finally made after a total of 25 phone calls, 15 emails and well over a year, I remain unsatisfied and the work incomplete. As of today, I have spent $3,600 on a chimney that cannot be used and a house that smells like charcoal. I have spent numerous hours at home unsuccessfully waiting for Priddy Clean crews to arrive and was given a plethora of excuses for their numerous no-shows. I presume the contract has not been completed due to inability or incompetence on behalf of the Priddy Clean. Priddy Clean’s [redacted] and [redacted] have stated on numerous occasions that they would complete a water proofing (complimentary), but this work has never been completed. I have been told that the work was not completed initially due to weather issues because it was either too cold or too wet.

4. “He complained that the liners were never installed properly, which was verified by several of our certified technicians they were and the fireplaces were in good working order as we proposed.”

Response: The second technician, [redacted], came to my house to inspect the work [redacted] completed. [redacted] noticed a few issues that needed to be fixed with the liner, so they installed a new liner. The second technician to come out to my house, [redacted], did a full inspection of [redacted]’s work and also said the liner wasn’t installed properly. I have not stated that the liners weren’t installed properly. Priddy Clean technicians have made these statements. [redacted] said during her last inspection that there was a crack in the liner and that there was a chimney fire and they needed to use a better or different material on the outside of the liner. Furthermore, no Priddy Clean employee verified that the chimneys were in good working order.

5. “He also asked of us to make repairs to the gas furnace liner and connecting pipes from work that he originally contracted with us and had done by a different company.”

Response: The connecting pipes were finally completed during the last visit by Priddy Clean. These pipes were part of the original work order. I do sincerely appreciate Priddy Clean honoring this part of the contract and finally completing the work. The work appears to be very well done and everything is to code.

6. “During the inspection it was evident the smell **. [redacted] was then complaining of was in fact from the chemical logs he had been burning in both fireplaces. He was informed this was an issue many people who use them face.”

Response: Initially [redacted] told me that the smell may have been caused by the chimney fire which occurred probably because I was told by [redacted] that I should be able to burn the fire the night the relines were done. [redacted] informed me that I should have been told that I needed to wait a few days for the materials to dry before starting a fire. I have used [redacted] fire logs in the fireplace (not “chemical logs”). [redacted] logs are an accepted product by the CSIA. [redacted] logs burn 80% cleaner than wood and do not produce creosote. Creosote forms when moist smoke from a wood fire cools and condenses on the chimney walls. Burning unseasoned wood with high moisture content contributes to greater creosote accumulation in the chimney. Creosote accumulates inside your chimney each time a wood fire burns and over time thick hardened tar like deposits can build up on the walls of the chimney. If this material is not regularly removed from the chimney burning a hot fire in the fireplace could ignite it and cause a chimney fire (which [redacted] stated had happened in my chimney flue).

Since [redacted] fire logs are made with dry wood sawdust only a fine soot like material is left in the chimney. In fact, tests show that [redacted] fire logs leave 66% less accumulation of soot material per hour of fire than the amount of creosote produced from burning natural firewood.

The Chimney Safety Institute of America states the following:

[redacted] Firelogs

The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) has recently granted CSIA Accepted Product status to [redacted] firelogs CSIA Accepted Product status.

When used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, this product is accepted by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. 7. “After yet more complaints of the same issue, we completed a cleaning, video inspection, and relined both fireplaces with new liners and the old terra cotta flue tiles were removed all again free of charge. Lastly, after 7 return trips, when he still mentioned the smell, we had voided out every possible reason aside from the fireboxes. The original brick work of the fireplace fireboxes could have been holding the original soot smells. We offered to rebuild both firebox back walls with new brick and mortar at a minimal cost compared to the going rate. We offered to rebuild each for $450.00. **. [redacted] accepted and we rebuilt them. He never made the payment for the $900.00, yet received the service.”

Response: Priddy Clean has come to our house at least 7 times, but has yet to get our fireplaces and chimney’s in good working order. The problem that is still occurring is that here is a constant charcoal and smoke smell in the house. The chimney is not working because whenever there is a fire in the fireplaces, the smoke goes into the house and does not exit the chimney. In order to fix this, [redacted]’s technician suggested we make the fireboxes bigger. [redacted] said I should only pay for the last work they performed if it fixed the problem with the smoke. The smoke problem is actually worse than it was before.

8. “The mentioned the water pipes to the outside also having been busted due to our technicians. This repair to replace the water line section that had busted was also completed free of charge. Several attempts to alleviate any tension between **. [redacted] and our company were made, and thousands of dollars in free services were done to help solve his issues. In closing I would like to highlight the fact that in no way shape or form was the complaint **. [redacted] made guaranteed under our contractual agreement for the smell he mentions. The pipes of the outside water connection used only for a small amount of water for mixing cement were busted due to temperatures and the home owner’s lack of draining the lines when used in cold conditions. “

Response: Priddy Clean assumed responsibility when told in both English and Spanish that the pipes were turned off for the winter and were winterized twice and not to use them. Priddy Clean’s techs responded that they would “take care of them before leaving” twice. Initial response, word for word that I received from Priddy Clean over the phone: "They don't know what winterizing means." Followed by, "it could have happened to anyone" and then, “it's not our fault that the water was in the pipe if the water was turned off” and, "we are not responsible for checking pipes before we leave." Again, Priddy Clean assumed this responsibility when they were told not to use that spigot, but did so anyway and said they would “take care of it” again to winterize it.

9. “The recent months, well over two years since our contractual agreement was completed he mention the ridge vent of the roof is damaged by us. If you look closely at the ridge vent which spans well over 50 feet plus. The vent was never installed correctly over lapped by any shingles. The entire ridge vent is flat the same, which we would have only been near it the first few feet accessing the chimney. With this being evident is would be very unrealistic what so ever the damage was from us in comparison to just never having been installed correctly to begin with. “

Response:

The ridge vent was installed correctly. The roof companies all noticided where the vent is bashed in that someone up on the roof must have recently stepped on the ridge vent which has caused the leak. Priddy Clean is the only company that has been up there. It is very clear from the picture that this happened directly in front of the chimney. It is possible this is just a coicidence about the location of the new leak, the chimeny and the timing. The following roofing companies can verfiy the bashing in of the vent and the leak:

10. “We made this repair and several others in immediate response to any and all complaints he has made. We feel that Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps Inc. has done above and beyond to appease **. [redacted]. In closing 1) the repairs contracted were never paid correctly in only half the amount received, 2) fireplace flue repairs were performed correctly and satisfied our contractual agreement, and 3) we returned multiple times and completed several returns to satisfy our customer. Therefore a refund of the minimal amount **. [redacted] made payment of is absolutely unjustified and unethical. I hope the information I have presented to you has been of assistance to you in making the correct decision. If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me and I will gladly help however we can.”

Response: Priddy Clean did not make the ridge vent repair. The cost is approximately $1,400 to fix this. I have 5 estimates I can send over to you. Does Priddy Clean’s insurance cover this cost? The outside water pipe was fixed the first time, but not the second time when they left the water on to the outside without properly draining the pipe. This mistake by Priddy Clean cost me an extra $175.00 to have repaired by [redacted]. 1) The fireplace repairs contracted were never completed by Priddy Clean and I have paid the $3,600 in full. 2) [redacted] originally recommended the flues be relined due to a chimney fire and a tear in the liner. This work she recommended Priddy Clean do was never completed. The smoke also still travels into the house and not up the flue. There is still a constant smoke and creosote problem in the house and the chimney has only been used a few times. These problems were never corrected. 3) I am asking for Priddy Clean to complete the work as stated in their contract from December of 2011. Priddy Clean should also reimburse me for. I am not asking for the lost days of work I have spent at home waiting for Priddy Clean crews which then never show up. The dispatchers were rude, dishonest and not up front with me about crews being “on the way” a half dozen times that I was at home when there were eventual no-shows of Priddy Clean crews to fix the issues. The bottom line is that Priddy Clean did not finish this service as outlined in our contract. The company did not provide satisfactory service. The company is also now billing me for work that they said I would not have to pay for if the attempt was unsuccessful. At this point I have to believe Priddy Clean is not able to complete the work and therefore, I will need to have another company fix the issues created by Priddy Clean. This is the work that needs to be performed: 1) getting our chimneys up and running to operate without smoke pouring into the house, 2) getting rid of the constant smoke and charcoal smell, and 3) fixing our roof. I will require a refund from Priddy Clean to get this work completed by a competent vendor.Desired Settlement: This is the work that needs to be performed: 1) getting our chimneys up and running to operate without smoke pouring into the house, 2) getting rid of the constant smoke and charcoal smell, and 3) fixing our roof. I will require a refund from Priddy Clean to get this work completed by a competent vendor.

IN RESPONSE TO **. [redacted].

WE HAVE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO TRY TO RESOLVE HIS PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM WAS THAT A YEAR AFTER WE REPAIRED THE CHIMNEY THEY CALLED AND SAID THERE IS A REALLY A BAD SMOKE SMELL CAN YOU COME CHECK IT? YES WE DID , MANY TIMES AS **. [redacted] STATED.

PRIDDY DID NOT DO THE FURNACE LINER AND WE WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO DO THE CONNECTION. IT WAS REMOVED FROM THE CONTRACT LAST MINUTE. PRIDDY REPLACED THE CONNECTORS OVER A YEAR LATER WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO HELP HIM SOLVE THE SMELL ISSUE. AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. HOW IS THAT HE SWEARS NO ONE ELSE WAS ON THE ROOF?? WHO INSTALLED THE LINER FOR THE FURNACE AND HOT WATER HEATER?? HOW DO I KNOW THAT THEY DIDN'T DAMAGE OUR LINERS?? WHO DID THE FURNACE LINER?? WHICH COMPANY?? WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A Revdex.com COMPLAINT FOR LEAVING THE FURNACE NOT UP TO CODE??

Which Priddy Kindly Fixed, NO CHARGE TO **.[redacted].

I REALLY DONT WANT TO GO BACK AND FORTH..... I KNOW WE HAVE DONE EVERYTHING WE CAN DO.

1. WHAT WAS DIAGNOSED BY ANOTHER CHIMNEY COMPANY??

2. WHAT ARE OTHER CHIMNEY COMPANIES PLANNING TO DO TO FIX SMELL ??

3. WHICH CHIMNEY IS HAVING ISSUES AND WHY? STILL FIRST FLOOR?

4. ARE YOU OPENING THE DAMPER AT THE TOP OF THE CHIMNEY? KEEPING IT CLOSED CAN TRAP THE SMELL INTO THE HOUSE.

WE ARE NOT COVERING THE RIDGE VENT, NOT EVEN ENTERTAINING THE FACT THAT TWO YEARS AGO WE MIGHT HAVE DAMAGED HIS RIDGE VENT AND HE REALLY WANTS US TO BELIEVE NO ONE WAS ON THE ROOF SINCE. BUT HAS 4 COMPANIES THAT HAVE BEEN UP THERE AND OTHER CHIMNEY COMPANIES ON HIS ROOF?? THE RIDGE VENT MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED WAY BEFORE WE EVEN CAME TO HIS HOUSE?

WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS FROM THE HOME INSPECTION REPORT?

NOW BECAUSE WE SENT HIM A BILL FOR REBUILDING THE BACK WALLS $ 900.

THE ADDITIONAL STEPS WE HAVE TRIED TO DO TO REPAIR THE SMOKE SMELL ISSUE, ARE GONE FORGOTTEN THAT WE HAVE CONTINUALLY GONE BACK

WHAT WE ARE WILLING TO DO IS: CLEAR THE ACCOUNT FOR REBUILDING THE BACK WALLS $900.

I TOLD **.[redacted], THIS WAS THE ONLY THING LEFT WE COULD TRY, TO REMOVE THE SOOT FILLED FIREBRICK. I TOLD HIM FAIRLY, IF IT DOESN'T STOP THE SMELL PROBLEM THEN WE WILL NOT CHARGE HIM. OBVIOUSLY, HE IS STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. I WILL REMOVE THE CHARGE FOR THE FIREBOX REBUILDING.

WHY WOULD WE WALK ACROSS HIS ROOF STOMPING ON HIS RIDGE VENT ?

PHOTOS PROVIDED BY [redacted]. SHOWS RIDGE VENT NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY AND CRUSHED FROM ONE END ON THE HOUSE TO THE OTHER. WE ONLY WORKED IN THE MIDDLE NEAR THE CHIMNEY.

HOW OLD IS THE RIDGE VENT??

WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE 2 YEARS LATER? IF THE RIDGE VENT WAS LEAKING IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LEAKING 2 YEARS AGO WHEN WE WERE UP ON HIS ROOF FOR TWO DAYS!

[redacted] NOTE [redacted] ALL ROOF COMPANIES CANT SAY THAT IS WAS DONE BY US, ALL THEY ARE RECOMMENDING IT JUST NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED AND ROOF REPAIRED.

1. Chimney Damper Needs To be Opened Before You Light The Fireplace.

2. Both Chimneys are working, he used it a dozen times, since I was called to fix the smell only.

Draw & Draft is not a problem and was not when [redacted] was there.

The Smell is the problem, Which no company will be able to promise a fix. We never promised that there would never be a smell.

3. What items on the contract were not complete? They were complete for 12 month when we didn't hear anything from him at all.

If they were not complete why did you sign the final invoice stating that everything was done & paid??

Please call me if you would like to discuss this issue and come to some middle ground!!

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I will

gladly accept Priddy Clean’s offer to clear my account. It is appreciated. Please ask them to cease sending me bills and

collection threat calls. Those are not appreciated.

We

initially agreed that if the solution worked, I would pay for the

rebuilding. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t pay

for it. This is not a new agreement.

I am rejecting this overall response because:

1.

I

have called and emailed Priddy Clean a number of times over the last few weeks

to try and get to a resolution. All of the responses I have received state that

Priddy Clean will have to get back to me. I only receive a response when I have

involved the Revdex.com.

2.

I

have not received anything in writing from Priddy Clean about not owing them

payment for the recent work that they keep billing me for and threatening to go

to collections over despite the assurance from [redacted] that we would

not have to pay for this if it didn't solve the problem. This is dishonest.

3.

The

ridge vent was only 4 years old when it was trampled on by Priddy Clean. Please contact our inspector about any questions regarding state of roof prior to Priddy Clean's work:

Review: Company in question damaged my fence and dug up my drain system and attached to my neighbors property, All of which in question is located on my property and not where they should have been working on. When I spoke to a manager named Christina she said she was the boss and I quote" what is your motive". She also said my property was 50 yrs old and I needed to replace it. She was very rude. I did not hire this company so they had no business on my property or removing anything on my property. As a result I have water damage and back up within my drainage.Desired Settlement: Pay for repair and disrespect of my property. Response:

Good Morning to All Parties Involved,

Review: My wife make appointment with this company to clean my Chimney, they come over to clean my chimney on November 19, 2014, around 8:30 AM. Several problem with this company after they clean:

1. Leave a mark dirty foot step from my family room, all the way to kitchen till the foyer area, my wife have to mops 3 - 4 times.

2. When she made an appointment with Christina, she quoted her $209.00 after service the technician wanted to charge her $239.00. She told the technician to hold on she will called his office, the technician said no necessary at the end I paid $209.00

3. The technician actually loosened up the panels so we would have to pay them and replace it. Since my wife at home and didn't understand, I come back and inspect and I noticed it was loose. I used the fireplace a couple of days before they come to clean and the panels were not loose. My wife called the manager (Greg) and told him the experience, he passed her to Christine that was aware of the problem and promised to send technician to come to tighten up the panels. She never been called back. My wife posted our experience at the [redacted].com and Christine called us and seem to be not happy with our review, acknowledge the problem, she is apologize and promised us the would replace our panels on Friday, Dec 12. The Technician came today, Friday, Dec 12, and told us he will charge us $600 to replace the panels, all he could do is put an anchor on the panels. He told us this will hold the panels and they will not fall down. Even with Anchor in place the back panels still move and on the left side the panel feels loose as well. We don't think we are able to use our fireplace anymore after the cleaning. Looks like they loosened up the panels so we would have to pay them to replace it. There was a crack in the fireplace before, but not much, after they cleaned it, it looks like there are more cracks in the fireplace. We did not expect to replace the fireplace with a the new one, however we want the fireplace back in its original condition before we had it cleaned with no loose panels.Desired Settlement: We want the panels completely not move on back and left side panels. We don't trust this company do repairs, we want to find another company to do the repairs since this company tried to ripe us off twice!!!

I am rejecting this response because:I would like to clarify several issues with regards to the response from my complaint to the Revdex.com. When I spoke with the manager from Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps last week she assured me she would send out someone from her company to repair the damages at no charge to our fireplace. The representative came out this past Friday 12/12/14 to take a look and assess the damages to our fireplace. My wife has a heavy [redacted] accent and this should not be misinterpreted for cussing someone out. You as the manager were not present in our home when he told us (me and my wife) that it would cost $600 for the repairs. Therefore there appears to be some miscommunication between you and your employees. We contacted the Revdex.com to help us resolve this dispute amicably. Any more personal and malicious attacks against my wife will not be tolerated and will be dealt with through the appropriate legal channels. It is our expectation that Priddy Cean Chimney Sweeps will make the necessary repairs to our fireplace this Wednesday 12/17/2014 to avoid any further legal action by us.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]We would like to close the case. This company sent out 3 different technicians and they each gave us a different opinion. We will find a different company that is competent to fix the fireplace. We feel this company will do more harm than good.[redacted]

Review: I contacted Priddy Clean to rebuild my chimney due to deteriotion and water leaks coming in from the chimney. They did a good job (looking at it visually). Once we had a hard rain, the water started to come into the house around the location of the chimney. They can in to view the damage and offered to do the repairs to the inside of the house (ceiling, walls) but not on the roof around the area of were they worked. I have a metal roof and it is believed that when they brought up the materials to do the intial repairs (bricks and etc) they bricks punctured they roof. They want me to repair the roof myself but refused to because I feel that its their fault.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to pay for the roofing and interior wall repairs. Or give me my money back I paid to them so far. Until then I will not pay the remaining balance on my account until this is resolved.

I am rejecting this response because:

The roof was not leaking before the repairs was done. I've had my insurance company come out prior to this repair and he said the leaks was coming in through the chimney. Even during the inital inspection of the house (two years ago) the inspector did not show signs of any damage.

Review: On October 8, 2013, Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps, Inc. (herein referred to as PC) came out to inspect and possibly repair my chimney at my rental property located in [redacted], MD. After the inspection, they were hired to replace and install a new lock top damper. During installation one of the chimney technicians dropped his heavy metal flashlight from the top of chimney, which then rolled down to the car port roof, rolled and hit and damaged the top right rear passenger side door (one large dent and one small dent next to it) as well as a dime shaped dent on the right passenger side of the roof. When I heard the commotion I exited the residence actually thinking that someone could have fallen off the roof and then noticed the flashlight lying beside the vehicle. I did not notice any damage right then. About 2 hours later as I was leaving the property for the evening, as I opened the rear passenger door I noticed the damage and called PC immediately let then know what I had discovered. I spoke to a gentleman that said they we about to close and I should send an email to [redacted] and [redacted]. He then provided me with their email addresses. On October 9, 2013, I sent them both an email containing pictures of the damage. [redacted] promptly returned my call and I explained to her what happened. She apologized for the issue and told me they were going to try and send a mobile unit out to repair my vehicle. On October 11, 2013, I received another call from [redacted] informing me that there was no mobile unit in my area and I could take the vehicle to any shop I desired. [redacted] even provided me with 2 locations in the [redacted] area that she found on the internet. I then proceeded to get three different estimates for repair. I sent PC all three estimates and informed [redacted] that I would throw out the highest and lowest estimate and go with the one in middle. On October 21, 2013, I received an email from [redacted] expressing thanks for me getting the estimates for repair. She also apologized again for the hassle and informed me that PC would sending the matter to their insurance company because the cost of repair was more than $500. I received another call from [redacted] on October 26, 2013. She was calling to get the exact amount that would be needed to repair my vehicle plus the cost of a rental car that would be needed while my car was in the shop. I told her it would be $881.60 plus $32 a day for the rental (for 4 days) totaling $1009.60. She then proceeded to ask me where I would like the check mailed...to me or the repair shop. I told her I had no preference. At that time I provided her with my mailing address. The call ended and I have not heard from [redacted] or anyone from PC since. I have texted [redacted] on her personal cell number that she provided me and I have left numerous messages at the PC offices with no call back.Desired Settlement: I would like for Priddy Clean to repair my vehicle that they damaged.

Subject: RE: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania in regards to your complaint #[redacted].

To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

The company settled the issue with me by issuing a check for the repair of my vehicle.

Review: Priddy Clean has:

1) broken the ridge vent on my roof - we have water pouring into our attic now. They did this by stepping on it during their "repair" process.

2) broken the outside water line/pipe twice. They did fix it the first time, but not the second.

3) never fixed the inital issue they were hired for (reline and fix smoke)

What was never completed and is still an issue:

-repair outside water line

-install smoke guards in both smoke boxes

-reline of both flues (inspection showed some issues with where there were fires inside the flue)

-installation of the proper flue liner insulation (tech mentioned they need to use a different insulation when installing the flue liners)

-installation of different, better sealing top dampers on both fireplaces (these dampers should seal better and keep rodents out as well as keeping smoke out)

-seal around chimney flashing

-seal outside bricks from leaking

-fix issue of smoke entering house whenever there is a fire in the fireplace

Now the ridge vent is also broken and needs to be replaced - we have water pouring into the house. The repair here alone will cost approximately $3,000.00Desired Settlement: Please refund initial money and insurance company needs to pay for damage to house to have it fixed.
