polyurethane prior to installation as per agreement to keep within the cost of work. He also agreed to the need of re-sanding of the work already completed due to not liking the color that they approved of and told me to continue applying finish multiple times. They even had me install the painted shoe molding and move the furniture back into the rooms and re-install the toilet in the powder room and then told me they don't like the color. He then agreed to the additional cost to refinish those rooms. In order to complete the job I needed the color to finish the stairs and living room and dining room. They tried to tell me to just install the stair treads and they would choose the color another time if at all. Which led me to believe they did not intend on allowing me to complete the work.  There was some delays due to injury while doing work at there house. And delays to allow additional coat of polyurethane to dry to re-install furniture and moldings.I am going to paste a copy of the email I sent Mr [redacted] outlining the amount of money of the materials and labor that he has paid for to date. Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The first issue was that he did not complete the work as stated on his contract. According to the contract this work should have been completed in 10 consecutive days, which never happened. He would show up at around 10 am or later and leave by 3 PM sometimes even before that. The worst part was he never worked consecutively instead we would see him 2 days of the week and the rest of the 5 days he would take off, with one or any excuse. All the way starting from March the work was only done half way. I had relayed to him many times, how much his lack of scheduling was effecting our plans, it was stressful, and an aggravation. My wife had to go on training from her job which she kept delaying due to the work that was still unfinished, we had arranged a big party for April 15, which was communicated to him before the work was started, and it had to be cancelled as the whole house was in a turmoil and disaster zone. We were living in the dust and debris from over a month and a half, where as he was taking his own sweet time and schedule anytime he felt like working. The stains and polish and other chemicals that he used on our floor was not even intended for residential use, as he had left the used and un-used cans and material in our garage. The color sample that he showed us was not what was applied on the floor. He never applied 3 coats of Polyurethane on the floor. Instead what he applied was a water based coat which we never discussed or agreed upon. We never saw him come back and apply the 3 coats of Polyurethane, because the polyurethane needs to be applied repeatedly for next 3 days, which he never did as he only showed up that one Friday of the week. He left without installing the stairs and risers, and the rest of the rooms were left unfinished without the stain. We ended up paying 300 dollars just to install the stairs, and another $ 3000 to another company to sand and finish the entire area with the correct Stain and Oil Based Polyurethane. Whereas he had already charged us 3/4 of the payments. As far as the cost of the material we checked with the supplier the total cost was no more than $3400. He stated that he purchased the plywood for $400.00, whereas it was only $26. You can see the difference right there. The stains and polish and other chemicals that he used on our floor was not even intended for residential use, as he had left the used and un-used cans and material in our garage. First installment that was paid to him was for $4413, the second one was for $2206. We expect him to refund the second installment back to resolve this as we ended up hiring to other people to finish this work, as the entire house was upside down.
