Pride Heating & Cooling Reviews (%countItem)

Waited well over a month on a gentlemen for the purchase of a fleet van agreed to a price and agreed to do deal. Contacted the employee again for details he told me it was gone his boss sold it. Called secretary to find out detail of sale and why when we agreed to a sale. She had no idea and thought it had been sold also. Woke up this morning to a nasty email from employee that was extreemly unprofessional and threatening. Will be contacting the company and forwarding screen shots of entire conversation from employee to company and perusing action

In 2016, our building contractor hired Pride to put in a heating system for our new home, which included a heat pump and an electric furnace. During the build there were several issues, the heat pump was installed incorrectly and was not level. Pride corrected this by shoving boards underneath the pad. The heat pump also failed twice during the build, and Pride came back out to get it running.

On 2/8/17, we contacted Pride because the condensation pump pipes were plumbed wrong and water leaked on the floor around the furnace, bringing in a great deal of water in our new basement.

We called Pride on 3/12/17, 6/12/17, 11/22/17 and 12/24/17, all because the heat pump was not working. Each time the techs who responded would do something with the wiring to get it going, but it would stop again. Each time they said "the previous guy didn't wire it right" and that they had fixed the issue. On 11/22/17 the techs that came left the safety panel covering the furnace breaker on top of the furnace with all the screws removed, and the cover plate for the air filter was on the floor.

I called the Pride tech who came out on 12/24 again 12/26/17 to let them know the fix on 12/24 did not hold and we were using backup wood heat to heat our house again. I was directed to call the office.

Pride sent a bill on 12/28/17 for $147.30 saying, "wires on heat pump contactor wired wrong by others." No other company touched the wiring but Pride. How can we be billed for a wiring issue that is their fault? Not only is the issue with the heat pump still not fixed, it is clearly not something we should be billed for as the original issue remains uncorrected.

I've called the office twice in 2018 wanting to resolve the billing issue and get the heat pump fixed. Both times I've been told they'll look into it and call me back, with several days passing with no call. I want this bill to be taken off my account, as I will have to hire another company to fix what Pride has continuously failed to correct.

Pride Heating & Cooling Response • Feb 01, 2018

In response to the complaint ID. The Heat pump was installed on 12/7/16 and was installed properly and leveled at the time. We have NO control over ground settling — only mother nature does. We were under contract with the Builder, whom which we have done several homes for.

Wednesday 2/8/17: Condensate Pump drain was not plumbed wrong. In February, the Heat Pump system does NOT put out any water. Customer's call was that the Heat Pump was not coming on which we installed on December 7, 2016. Our Tech found Unit low on charge, we adjusted the charge, started the unit and checked operation — all ok.

Customer Charged: $0.00

Note:

The week of 10/24/2016, we went to install the indoor unit but couldn't do it do to the fact, the

basement had 4" of water in it because someone had messed with the sump pump.

Installed unit on 10/28/16 (Friday)

Sunday 3/12/17:

Customer called and stating Heat Pump not coming on. On 3/14/17 Tech found loos wire in outdoor unit, we tighten all connections, start and checked operation — all ok.

Customer Charged: $0.00

Tuesday 6/12/17: Customer's call: Puddle of water on floor when running Air conditioner, Tech repaired crack in the condensate drain — all ok.

Customer charged: $0.00

Sunday 12/24/17: (Christmas Eve). Customer's Call: Heat Pump down. Mr. Pirri told our after-hours phone service company that he wanted an Emergency Repair even though he had heat.

Tech found 5-amp fuse blown. Traced circuits and located problem in the outdoor unit. Wire had been changed again. Corrected wiring.

Start and checked complete operation— all ok,

Customer charged: $147.30

Our contract with builder states 1- year labor warranty from date of installation, which was 10/28/16 for

indoor section and 12/7/16 for outdoor section. Customer also has a 10 year all parts limited warranty (part only) from the Manufacturer,

The call on 12/24/17 was clearly past the 1- year labor warranty given to the building contractor. The invoice we sent to *** was VERY reasonable for being a Sunday call and Christmas Eve call.

In closing, we will delete the invoice from 12/24/17 in the amount of $147.30.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint I ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This response is unacceptable. Rather than further engage in conflicting dialogue, we are simply allowing the company's unapologetic and unprofessional response to speak for itself. We’ve since hired a competent contractor who was able to diagnose and fix the issue. We hope that by filing this claim, future customers are aware of our yearlong battle with this company and take it into consideration.
